    So sick.....

Have you tried gargling with warm salt Water? Here's a honey and cinnamon remedy for a cold. Hope you feel better soon. COLDS: Those suffering from common or severe colds should take one tablespoon lukewarm honey with 1/4 spoon cinnamon powder daily for 3 days. This process will cure most chronic cough, cold and clear the sinuses.

    Any regrets at all?

I have absolutely NO regrets! I'm off of my high blood pressure medicine and my anti-depressant medicine has been cut in half! I'm loving it and I'm with shrinkingmom in wishing I could have had this done 20 years ago!

    New to the site!

Welcome Gina! I'm 6 weeks post op and have gotten off my high blood pressure medicine and have cut my anti-depressant med in half! the best of luck to you!

    oh yea!

Congrats! I'm 6 weeks out and still learning how to eat.
  5. I've only been tracking my protein...making sure I get 60 - 80 grams per day. I walk every day about 12,000 steps a day and my pedometer tracks the number of calories burned also so this week I started trying to make sure my intake calories is under what I burned.
  6. 1. I had no complications from surgery and only took one dose of pain med when I woke up then didn't need it anymore 2. No lifting anything over 15 pounds for 6 weeks 3. I was in the hospital for one day, surgery at 12:30 and was released the next day around 1:30 4. My kids and husband and best friend knew prior to surgery. After surgery, I told my parents and immediate family. I don't plan on telling coworkers. it's none of their business. 5. I have NO regrets! I'd say do it now if your insurance covers it. Why yo-yo for more years if not necessary. I'm 49 now and don't ever remember being the same weight for more than 6 months at a time since my mid 20's. I'm always trying to lose weight just to gain it all back and then some. I'm just glad I was able to get the sleeve now while I'm still young enough to enjoy life! Good luck with your decision.

    what to pack?

chapstick and a soft pillow to hold against your tummy when you need to cough or move about. Good luck. Can't wait to hear about your experience!
  8. Congrats! You were definitely not meant to have the sleeve at this time. Enjoy that little baby growing inside you!

    Sleeve vs. lapband

Hi, I chose the sleeve for the following reasons: didn't have to worry about doctor's visits for band adjustment don't have to worry about it slipping or eroding removed 85% of the stomach which reduces the grehlin (hunger) hormone by 75% don't have to worry about revision surgery (as I've read on this site that many have had) Good luck with your decision. Try searching the lapband on this site to get more info people's experience with it.

    I'm a little worried.

There are many different types of pre-op diets. I was on full liquids a week before surgery. The tiny sips and bites come after surgery because of your new tiny tummy. No water half hour before and after a meal is so that you can get the most food in that tiny tummy and for it to stay there longer to keep you feeling full longer. Prior is for practice. Although the practice of not drinking with your meals is a good practice prior to surgery, but you'll be on full liquids so your pass the stage where you can practice prior to surgery. Good luck with your surgery next week.

    I new here :)

Welcome! Great site for lots of info!
  12. So, hubby and I go to Wegmans for dinner. It's an upscale grocery store that has a second level for sitting down and eating. They have buffet with all types of food. I got one tiny red skin potato, bourbon chicken thigh, 4 little cubes of tofu, 2 cubes of some type of cheese, some asparagus tips, and a chicken wing drumstick. I ate about 4 pieces of the asparagus (they were about 2" in length and the thickness of a pencil), the cheese, the tofu and maybe 1/5 of the chicken thigh. After dinner we went to Home Depot before going home. Well, once we got home, I wasn't feeling hungry and got greedy for the piece of wing. I took about 3 little bites of it, started feeling discomfort, then started sliming, and out came the food.....still haven't learned how to listen to my stomach

    I need some help!

Have you try increasing your exercise, water intake, or even calories for a couple of days to break the stall? Are you tracking the calories? If not, maybe track it to make sure your not taking in too many or too little. That is one serious stall you've got going. I hope it breaks for you soon. Hopefully you are still losing inches even if the scale doesn't move.

    Hairloss

It's normal...just the shock your body is going through. I've been taking biotin that is suppose to help with hair and nails, but I'm still losing it by the handful. As long as we don't go bald, we'll be okay. It will grow back.

    10 months Later

    Wow! that is fantastic!
  16. Can anyone beat that??? I have shoulder length hair and I sure am losing a lot! In two days, I've clogged the drain. I hope this stops soon or I'll be bald. On the bright side, I'll be even lighter in weight...lol

    Pure Protein Jello

You can buy unflavored protein powder and add some to the jello that you make.

In need of some dinner ideas

Check out the recipes thread...there's lots of great ideas. I buy ground turkey and make chili with it or I cook it with cubed tofu using curry.

    Kaiser insurance ?

Hi, I have Kaiser. The total cost will depend on your company and what they negotiated with Kaiser. For me, I only had a $5 co-pay for the surgeon, Kaiser picked up the tab for the rest.
