    High Heels....

I am much more comfortable in heels now than prior to surgery. I'm sure you will be too!

    Help me?

Are you getting in all your Water? If so, try increasing a little, and make sure to move. I agree with some posters above, give it time. You shocked your body, everyone reacts differently. Surery alone doesn't make us lose weight, so just work your plan and it will right itself.

    FitBit?

I've been using my FitBit One for about a year and a half and I love it. I keep mine clipped to my pants or inside my pocket. It definitely motivates me to move more and I check my progress throughtout the day. When I ride my bike, it counts pedal movement as steps so I'm not sure about how perfectly accurate it is. But it keeps me moving! Good luck!

    Question

Ask them why theirs? I'm all for complying with our docs but you should be able to buy your Vitamins wherever you want. The Atkins shakes don't have as much Protein as others and powders, and maybe a little more fat. If they don't have a solid medical reason why you have to use their products, then you should be able to substitute something comparable. Good luck!

    Feeling discouraged :/

unjury also makes a chicken broth that might go down easier. Warm fluids always sat better for me initially. Peppermint tea, also helps settle your stomach a bit. Good luck.

    Foods after the Sleeve

I started trying salad after a few months, I had some gurgles initially, but no ill effects after that. I don't really have that many, but I've never had an issue. Same with alcohol. I'll have a glass of wine on a rare occasion - and I did wait until about month 8 or so. I limit partly because it does effect me much quicker than before and I most times I just want to get the most out of my weight loss efforts until I reach goal. But it is a personal choice

    Abnormal EKG

There could be so many things that would produce an irregular EKG, some having nothing to do with your heart. Anxiety, stress, movement during the test... Exercising beforehand can produce an irregular result. Or there may be an issue you need to address. Better to know exactly what the issue is (if any) before going in for surgery. Stressful, yes. But it doesn't necessarily mean something is wrong. Be well and good luck !!

    When did you stop?

My nut told me once I can get all my Protein by food, I didnt' have to use shakes. But I still do on some days. I like my chocolate shake with sugar free peppermint syrup and start my day with it on occassion.
  11. Post op is a little different for everyone. I had a very uneventful recovery, and very minimal discomfort. Recognize that even if you feel great, you are numb inside and need to heal so don't over do it. Take it in stages so you don't get overwhelmed. When I got home, I was on full liquids. The first few days I focused first on getting in all my liquids, then Protein. After about a week with no issues, I wasn't have trouble getting in my fluids, so I focused more on protein. Which is what I have done since. You may be sensitive to temperatures, warm liquids went down easier initially for me. If you are concerned about anything that is happening - post. Someone is typically around and always willing to help or listen. Though your exercise will be limited, walking is perfect for those first weeks. make time for it. Best of luck to you!!!
  12. I stayed home alone and managed fine. I did have visitors come by and helped with little things, but no one needed to stay. Everyone is different, so I can't say how you will react to surgery. I couldn't lift the garbage out, or carry large loads of laundry. It might be a good idea to have someone check in on you and keep your information (meds, doctor's numbers, etc) handy, just in case. Good luck !
  13. About 6 oz is my limit. More dence foods a little less. I still try to portion out my food and store in small containers so I dont' overdo it. The only time I feel the desire to graze is if I have carbs, or more carbs than usual. Thankfully I don't keep junk in the house.

    Sugar Free Junk

Good to know. Thanks. I am starting to think the stomach spasms are hunger pangs.... don't like them at all. I has small spasms for the first week or two, they lessened every day. A heating pad and some warm herbal tea seemed to help. Glad you are doing so well!!

    Sugar Free Junk

While I agree that you don't have to really worry about the sugars nutritionally right now, I always find that when I do allow sugar/carbs into my diet I always start having cravings for more. For me it's a trigger, so I need to keep my distance. At over a year out, I still don't feel hunger in the traditional sense, but when I incorporate more sugars/carbs, I almost always feel I want more.

    Not bragging but.....

I had a similar experience. Very uneventful recovery and I felt great the next day. I only noticed a little soreness when getting up/laying down. You probably won't feel any restriction right now, you're still swollen and numb. Stay the course and don't overdue it. It is fantastic you're recovering so well! and it's important to share the good recovery stories too for those that come after us. Thanks! Congratulations!

    Full Liquids... Suggestions

All good suggestions. I always opted for items that gave me the most nutritional value. Greek yogurt was and still is a staple. Though I didnt' have to worry too much about my Protein intake at that point. 2 shakes gave me all I needed for the day. Purees can be just about anything. I blended chicken salad, meatballs, egg salad. I used an emersion blender, and I could only get in a couple of spoonfuls at first. Check out theworldaccordingtoeggface.com and emilybites.com . Both sites have a bunch of recipes for all stages of your diet. Good luck!

  19. Absolutely worth it! Follow your doctors instruction, stay strong and seek motivation when you need it. This site will help you with the last part. The sleeve with help you with your intake, the rest is up to you. Single best thing I ever did for myself. Best of luck!!

    Superbowl Madness

It is exactly that mentality that will get you through when things get tough. Good luck for a smooth surgery and recovery!

    I'm disappointed....

From all I have read most people average about 10lbs. a month. You are not that far off that average. Do you track all you take in? The sleeve will only do a small portion of what is required for our loss. I agree, don't beat yourself up. Ask yourself if you are doing all you need to. Are you getting all your Protein and Water? taking in enough calories? or too many? Are you exercising? Unfortunatley what works for one, does not always work for all. We are all different, with different activitiy levels and metabolisms. You'll tune into what works best for you. But from where I am standing, you're doing fine. Slow and steady is nothing to worry about. One of the best and most helpful things I read when I first started out, and I think it was a post from LilMissDiva, Remove the word ONLY from your vocabulary. You lost 18 lbs! You worked for it, and it is a great accomplishment. Best of luck!

    Pure Protein Bars

I like the Pure Protein Revolution bars, 20gm Protein. 190 calories 6g Fat, 10g Net carbs (17, less the 7 Sugar alcohols) I like them better than the other Pure Protein Bars, and my NUT approved, but only 1 a day. My Walmart carries them, costco by me does not.

    Pre op liquid hell

The first few days are the toughest, your body is withdrawing from carbs/sugar on top of you limiting calories. Try and focus on the end game here. You are doing what you need to ensure you are in the best shape possible for your surgery. Everyone's doctor gives different instructions for various reasons. It is always best to stick to what your doctor prescribed. If you are really struggling, call your NUT. Work with them to find a good balance. It is not forever, you can do this. Get into your good habits now, stay strong. Best of luck to you.
