Sheree replied to Kiki Von Moonshine's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
hi everyone, my surgery was July 6th. I weighed 220. Today, 195. 25 pounds. good luck everyone!!! -
my surgery was July 6th! welcome to my corner of the world!!!
-
alked to my doctor and he said the protein gullets were good for the first week while on clears and now I should get in all my protein from my foods alone and if I need to , I can make a shake. Thanks OTR for your post or else I would've not asked Susie, how long ago did you have your surgery? I don't see it listed anywhere. Thanks. (I would LOVE to get rid of my Protein shakes too!)

Before surgery I LOVED to drink iced tea all day and 1 cup of coffe in the a.m.. Now I can't stand the taste of either one!!! I am 6 weeks out so I am hoping it will change. I haven't noticed it with food but am looking forward to the day I enjoy my coffee and tea again!

thanks Tracy, when I think about it 25 lbs. is alot but it has really slowed down and I get a little discouraged. silly I know. It took me 3 months on Weight Watchers to lose that much before my surgery. I think I need to pump up my exercise. thanks for the pep talk!
-
Tracy, am I understanding you had your surgery June 2012 and have lost 69 pounds in that length of time?!!! If so I am REALLY a little envious with my little 25 lbs. lost since July!!!
-
hi, all surgeons are different. my Dr. (or ins) did not require or even feel is necessary- a pre-op diet. I lost about 7 lbs. before surgery without trying- nerves I guess?
-
my nut. said to take 500 mg B-12 every day. My B-12 was a little low even before surgery so I feel 500 is a little low. Is anyone taking more? thanks.

does that mean it gets better? PLEASE say it is so!
-

How Painful Was The Surgery?
Sheree replied to AdeptDreamer's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi, I as well really had no pain, a little sore in the stomach area and took pain meds only at night for 3 nights to help me sleep (why not? I couldn't lay on my side or of course belly for about 2 weeks. My worst complaint was my nausea. From water to the protein shakes, everything made me nauseaus. I woke up nauseaus and fell asleep nauseaus. That was also for about 2 weeks. Now, 5 weeks out I feel great and SO happy I had the surgery. I have lost 19 lbs. and am on my way. good luck, you will be fine. -
thanks so much, I will try them. Sheree

hi fellow "July sleevers". My surgery was July 6th, my starting weight was 220 and I am now 201.= 19 lbs. My surgeon did not require "pre-surgery" diet. Loving my sleeve, so far... -
Hi, I am 4 1/2 weeks out and just made them. they taste like a cheez-it but are softer. I really liked them.
-

Day Of Surgery Question
Sheree commented on incontrol(almost)'s blog entry in incontrol(almost)'s Blog
my surgery was 1st thing in the a.m. great nurses, pain meds in my i.v. and I felt pretty darn good. I sent my husband home to be with the dogs and I was fine. -
thanks, I tried looking it up online with no results, I better give them a call.
-
hi, I saw a nutrionist at the hospital before surgery- it was just a 1 time thing but I think I might like to see one again. does ins. typically pay for a nutrionist? I have Cigna PPO. thanks!
-
thanks so much for the reply.

Susie, may I bother you please? I am just over 4 weeks out, I drink 8 cups water, 2 protein shakes (made w/ 1 cup skim milk each and eat 2 1/4 cups of protein twice a day. I really can't eat anymore. Is that reasonable?
-
Susie, I am feeling great. I get a little more tired quicker than before surgery (July 6th) but I FEEL better?! hmmmm?
-
ahhhhh! 60 min. a day!? wow! I better re-think my workout plan! thanks so much. 8 lbs. sounds great! keep up the good work Susie! good luck.
