  1. Hi , I am almost a year out and down 135+lbs. I had a tough go as a sleever , but learned what to eat and how to adjust. Along with my sleeve I had a hiatal hernia operation. I thought this would solve my heartburn and acid reflux issue. Last few weeks heartburn has been creeping up again and rather painful. Any advice it thoughts? Zantac ? Milk? Tums? Help!!!

  2. Thank you everyone. The weight is coming off. It has been 3 months since surgery and down 88 lbs. I had a rough bout of kidney stones a month after surgery. I still have a hard time eating. And will vomit once a week. The good thing is killing me because nothing tastes good or digest well. It all sits in my stomach. I keep hearing it will get better. But I want to just enjoy something that doesn't ale me feel ill after the first bote

  3. Going4it--

Ok well about a week shy of my 3 month anniversary and down over 85 lbs. my bathroom issues are still there but not too serious.

I still have a horrible time with Isopure- and Protein drinks as whole. Boost light is Ok. I take flu stone chewable Vitamins. Water has been my best friend.

As for food, I definitely not doing great. Most food tastes horrible and I am still unable to eat a whole scramble egg in one sitting. I have fat from a perfect diet, but trying to be better.

Regrets? Still have some... I really do miss food. The social and emotional aspects. And the enjoyment - I would never have list 85 lbs in 3 months without it. I do get compliments which make me feel good but some days I wish there wasn't so much restriction. I have very few things I can eat- and can actually go a day or two without eating anything.

  4. Did u lose 50 in less than a month?? Holy cow! Congrats!!! Any suggestions on how u did it? Getting my date before thursday.. Had my prep last week. <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I had a really rough 3 weeks. I lost 20 lbs on a post opt diet. Then I threw up everything for 2 1/2 weeks and finally started to add things beside Clear Liquids

    Day of Surgery: 385lbs (10/25/2012)

    Current Weight: 345lbs (3wks post-op)

    New Years Goal: 325lbs

(Okay' date=' so typing the numbers out was extremely humiliating- so much so that I cried. Am I alone in how ashamed I am? This is an awful feeling- especially when so many others are so very small in comparison! It feels hopeless!)[/quote']

Are you out of your mind? You are amazing - you lost 104 lbs on your own. So proud of you. 40 lbs in three weeks. You are doing great - Be proud very proud. You look amazing

  6. This is probably still not for on the stage you are on' date=' but I made this pre-VSG and it was quite good! It might be something for you to look at once you're in a regular food stage. Also I heard the cauliflower crust pizzas are good too, I am planning on trying once I get past soft stage into regular foods. Good luck.

My only suggestion is if trying a new food like pizza, make sure you are somewhere comfortable so if you get sick , you not stressed yoo

  7. I had the same problem and spent post op week 3 in the hospital. Less than 24 hours after I stopped eating/drinking anything dairy I was 100% no maybe 110% better. You may want to try that. I even tried eAting a ricotta bake last night and was nauseas all night. Sleevers often have lactose intolerance after surgery from what I hear. Good luck!

I hope this is not true - I love my dairy. Is it temporary ?

  8. Proud granny - I live in Babylon Long Island. I am fine, much better then most, but with gas shortages and stores just getting power back. It has been a bit of a challenge. I am praying for it to get better. Can't go back now. But it is along hard process. I wish I could get rid of the thirsty feeling. And lack of energy. Trying my best. Thanks for all your words of wisdom

  9. Thank you all, especially proud Granny. Doc and nutritionist both said oatmeal so I tried. Ughhhh. I think my doctor may have taken too much out. He said as wide as his finger now. I had a rough first week, second was better and now this weekend hurt. The Optipure is horrible and we got hit with Hurricane Sandy do store access is limited. Need a better Protein Drink. Just a lot at once
