I found a recipe I am going to try. I want to mix this into my yogurt! I may use mixed berries because that's what I have in my freezer. http://rabbitfoodformybunnyteeth.com/cherry-chia-jam/ Cherry Chia Jam Makes about 1 cup of jam 1 cup black cherries (I used frozen pitted) 1 Tbsp chia seeds 1 Tbsp water Defrost the cherries under warm water until thawed and remove pits if necessary. Place the cherries and 1 Tbsp of water in a blender and pulse until cherries are mashed, but not completely pureéd. Transfer the mashed cherries to a jar and stir in the chia seeds. Refrigerate for about 60 minutes until chia seeds expand and turn the content into a thick jam.

Don't cut your calories. You need the calories to fuel your muscles. Keep working out and the scale will eventually move. I had a 3 1/2 week long stall and called my nutritionist and he said to "just keep doing it" and it would happen. He was right. In the past week, my body has figured out that I am not trying to starve it to death and I dropped from 275 on August 17th to 264 today. Be healthy with this surgery! Don't set unrealistic goals. Don't try and set unrealistic calorie levels either. You will fail and you did this to succeed!!!!

Once I was cleared for regular foods I could have them.

How The Hell Do You Drink Isopure?
Robyn Owens-Miille replied to Carrie's Journey's topic in Food and Nutrition
I could barely tolerate it. I added Crystal light to it. I bought the Alpine punch and added Crystal Light Fruit punch too it. I also used it as the Water in Jello and made my own Protein jello. -
I have found that most places let me order off the kid's menu. I generally know where we are going ahead of time and look at the menu online. I have not been to a buffet. My favorites: Red Lobster has broiled fish, garlic-grilled shrimp and grilled chicken on their kid's menu. Chili's has grilled chicken on their kid's menu Chipotle is great (they will let you do super small portions) Pei Wei (have your spouse order a 3 item plate and you choose one- I like the String Bean Chicken) Applebee's has a 4 oz sirloin on their kid's menu. Yes, we eat out too often!

Is This Normal?
Robyn Owens-Miille replied to CandiKiss's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was almost a month post-op before I puked the first time (it was way too greasy). Some have an easier time of it, it doesn't mean your sleeve isnt' working. -
First Nutritionist Appt Yesterday -- Surprises
Robyn Owens-Miille replied to DanaInNewOrleans's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told "majority" of the weight comes off at the beginning but not that it completely stops or becomes impossible (but 100 pounds over 52 weeks is very reasonable). Also, my doc absolutely INSISTS on the puree stage with absolutely NO LUMPS. He is adamant about you not damaging your sleeve. Says you must puree it before it goes into your mouth. -
I Have Fallen Off The Wagon. I Need Help.

Part of the stress is some negitive stuff from my boyfriend... part is bills that have increased since my boyfriend... well, lets just face it... the stress is my boyfriend. He quit a job making good money just to come home and be with me because he thought I would cheat on him." " "Now the question is... How do I get around this? Get rid of him? IDK! He really is a great guy." Great guys don't think you're going to cheat on them just because you've lost weight and have physically changed. I'm going to be pretty blunt... tell him to get a job and TRUST you or you will move on. If counseling works and helps mend your relationship, wonderful! If he still doesn't trust you and is so insecure, then he is not the guy for you. You have WAY too much invested in you to be stressed out over a guy. You need to focus on you and preventing yourself from re-gaining that weight. It's "me time" in your world. Something I bet you've never done before! -
Mine has gone crazy. Two weeks late the first time and then a week late the next. I think our bodies don't know what to do with us!

I love avocado and I know they are great healthy fat. But, I can't eat a whole one even over several days and guac just goes bad in the fridge. This was wonderful and you cannot taste the Beans at all!!!! And it stayed in the fridge for like 4 days without going bad. I used it as a "spread" on my whole wheat tortilla with a slice of turkey, a slice of swiss and some salad greens. INGREDIENTS 1 ripe, medium-sized avocado 2/3 cup white or cannellini beans, rinsed and drained 2 generous sprigs of cilantro 1 ½ Tablespoons fresh lime juice (1-2 limes) ½ green jalapeno, seeds removed and chopped ¼ teaspoon salt DIRECTIONS In a blender or food processor blend all ingredients until smooth and creamy Dip vegetables into spread or use as a topping on chicken NUTRITIONAL ANALYSIS PER SERVING (3-4 tablespoons) Calories: 85 Fat: 5 grams Protein: 2 grams Carbohydrate: 8 grams Fiber: 4 grams Sodium: 105 mg Sugar: minimal http://www.froedtert.com/SpecialtyAreas/BariatricSurgeryProgram/Recipes/

Greek Yogurt
Robyn Owens-Miille replied to KinnymomX3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
As you get farther into regular meals, move away from the pre-sweetened ones. They will add unnecessary calories and carbs to your meal plan. In the early days, you can't eat enough to really hurt anything (at least that's what my nutritionist says). -
I bought some 100 calorie Wholly guacamole packs today (I had a coupon making them 1.88 for 6 packs). At least then I don't cringe if I have to throw some away. Yes, I hate "wasting" food. Part of the reason why I'm needed a sleeve!

I have never thought about freezing them! Does the texture change?

3 Month Stall Anyone!?
Robyn Owens-Miille replied to Blugirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You're not alone. I was sleeved on 5/30 and doing great. Then along comes July 24th and NO MORE WEIGHT LOSS!!!! I have been stuck at 273-275 since then. Finally I called the nutritionist out of desperation. He said my body was in shock and thought it was starving to death with the rapid weight loss, restricted calories and aggressive workouts. "Just stick to the plan." (Darn it! I wanted a "fix"). Well, today I weighed 271. I'm praying that this is my body figuring it out!!! Good luck! Hopefully that scales budges soon. -
I'm thinner now than I've ever been since me and my hubby got together. And it's so much better and easier already and I cannot WAIT to see how much better it gets as I lose more weight!!!! Hubby says I am wearing him out and he is now convinced he needs to lose weight to keep up with me. He has about 40 pounds to lose and has started going to the gym to workout with me. I'm hoping we're bragging soon!!! Thanks for being brave and posting your experiences!

Greek Yogurt
Robyn Owens-Miille replied to KinnymomX3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try the plain greek yogurt and add in sugar free torani syrup (or other sugar free sweetener of your choice). I add my own fruit so I can control the amount. You could also add in pureed fruits since you're in the early stages. Loaded with protein and pretty easy on the tummy (or at least mine). -

More Protein, Less Carbs
Robyn Owens-Miille replied to nalasmom's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Isopure zero carb from GNC has 40 grams of protein per bottle. I'm not horribly crazy about the chalky taste it leaves in my mouth but I made popsicles and jello with it after surgery. -

Big deep breath. It is working. You are not a failure. You are losing weight (even if it's not as much and as fast as you want it to be). Please describe your Fluid intake, diet and exercise. Also, are you taking a PPI? -
Really Discouraged
Robyn Owens-Miille replied to MISSMEWITHIT's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
40 lbs in 7 weeks is AWESOME!!!! That's just at a pound a day or -140,000 calories. When else would you have thought that over 5 lbs a week was slow?????
