I did not meet my goal either - I am 176 as of today, and I have been in a stall for about two months. During this time, my mother in law became very ill, went into hospice (in another town), and passed away. With all the travel and stress, and having to "make do" with what was available for me to eat, I have really seen the effects of stress and chaos on the healthy journey. We are slowly getting back into our routine, AND I DIDNT GAIN ANYTHING!
Setting these short-term goals is very helpful to me, and I really enjoy seeing everyone's progress!

My 6 month surgiversary was Monday and I have lost almost 45 pounds I'm pretty excited, and though I have slowed down, I have lost some weight every week except two weeks...sometimes I only lose .6 pounds, but this is still so much more success than I ever had with diets! And I don't feel like I am suffering or depriving myself. I'm rooting for all our December sleevers, some really great progress I see!

I have become obsessed with Silk Soy vanilla Milk with one scoop of Chia seeds in my shaker cup! It is a nice Protein boost (from the Silk' date=' sometimes I add unflavored protein powder), and you can crunch on the little Chia seeds in the milk. Chia has REALLY helped with Constipation, and it is high in Fiber and healthy oils. So that's one snack I have in the evenings.
Nuts are a great grab and go snack - I am not worrying too much about fat/oil, because I eat so little, and I focus on getting in healthy foods first. Also, 1/2 banana is a good grab and go, and very filling.
Good luck![/quote']
I forgot my other great grab and go snack! I get those individually wrapped prunes (they are called "ones"), and take a couple to work in my lunchbox. They are two bites, superfood antioxidants, high in fiber, give me my fruit servings, help with constipation, and only 20 cals each! Sure, my husband jokes that I am an old lady for eating prunes, but I love them!

Sleeved 12/21. Down 45 pounds since surgery. Last night' date=' waited way too long to eat dinner (not for any other reason but being busy) and when we ate the (ugh...never again!) KFC - it made me so gassy and sick to my stomach. UGH! I thought I would handle the chicken if I removed the skin. I have not felt that sick in two months. Today I am back to shakes, berries, fruits and natural Proteins. Anyone else finding they cannot easily incorporate or tolerate any grease at all? Also, despite good cardio work outs, I am seeing excess skin already. Thoughts on P90X?[/quote']
Fat is not giving me any trouble, but I cannot tolerate beef, no matter how cooked or how much I chew!

Thank you! I buy both Chia seeds and Protein powder in bulk at our local co-op grocery. Do you have a rough idea of how much a scoop is?
One tablespoon...I checked the can!
-
Do you soak your Chia seeds first?
Nope, I put one scoop of Chia seeds in 8 oz of Silk with 1/2 scoop Protein Powder, shake it, then drink after just a minute or two. I love to crunch up the chia seeds, and they add a nutty flavor to the Silk.

Thank you! I am almost 3 months post surgery, and my hair has been coming out in a mass exodus! Very comforting article...

Ok so I'm having problem about wanting to munch not because I'm hungry but just to keep myself busy ( mouth mostly) any healthy snack ideas! Something I can just grab!

I had surgery 12/6 - down 34 lbs.
Shotzzie, we are sleeve-twins. I had my surgery on 12/6, and I am down 35 pounds!

So, I gained 0.6 pounds, but I'm not stressed because I have three wonderful mitigating factors! 1) TOM, 2) on steroid dose pack for my back, and 3) I lost 4 pounds last week! Feeling positive, good luck everyone...

Down 4 pounds this week, which is a recent record for me! WOO-HOO, I also got asked to be a walker next to our St. Patrick's Day parade float...should be fun. Good luck everyone!

Surgery 12/2125 lbs Lost
I will hit the two month post-op mark in 3 days and today I had my second post-op appointment with the nurse practitioner.....she said she would have liked to see more weight loss but that there are so many variables that come into play that it is hard to pinpoint any one thing as a reason for the slow weight loss ( which of course all of us slow losers know well) I asked about calories and she said she never really gives calories -- just Protein goals. I told her I was eating about 800 calories give or take a hundred. She wants me to up my calories to 1000 and see what happens' date=' which I am hesitant to do because I will freak out if I gain ANY weight.
Anyway, she wants me to go back to doing two shakes a day, one real food meal and two protein Snacks.< /p>
I see people here who are eating 500, 600, 900, 1200...etc It is all over the map.
Has anyone else raised their calories and magically started losing faster?[/quote']
Yes! I was sleeved on Dec 6, and I have lost 32 lbs. Just this week, I lost 4 pounds by adding small bites of carbs, it is the weirdest thing! We went to restaurants twice this week. One night, I had seafood canneloni (seafood in thin pasta) with glass of wine, next morning I was down a full pound! Two nights later, out with friends and I had two pomegranate margaritas, next morning, I was down another pound! I have been very adherent and compliant, but this is the most weight I've lost in a week since right after surgery, weird. I don't plan to derail my eating plan, but I am starting to believe that the body does respond to slight increase in calories/carbs from time to time. BTW, I'm in Baton Rouge :-)

So group how about some updates?I have lost 32 pounds as if today, surgery date of 12/06/12...I finally believe that I will not weigh over 200 pounds again, at 192.4!!!! We ate at a wonderful restaurant last night, and I ate a couple of bites of everything I wanted and loved it. The funny thing is, I was not even tempted by the hot bread they brought to the table...

I missed my goal by 3.2 pounds, but in other news, I lost 10.8 pounds! Woo-hoo! This was so fun! Thank you guys...

- I confess that this journey is both harder and easier than I thought it would be.
- I confess that in public situations I finagle things to make it look like I've eaten more than I have.
- I confess that it makes me sad that I might never be able to consume a large sandwich with big ol' slices of homemade bread again (like I need it).
- I confess that I occasionally use a straw.
- I confess that I haven't told anyone about my sleeve and I don't plan on it. I don't need your negativity or opinions.
Your comment that this has been both harder and easier really resonated for me~!
-I confess that I am too caught up in what the scale says every morning, and it put me in a bad mood today.
-I confess that I am having a hard time not eating or drinking something at bedtime, old habits.
-I confess that I have not been successful at giving up a glass of red wine on occasion, and coffee is my friend.
- I confess that this journey is both harder and easier than I thought it would be.

My doctor has not even discussed weight with me, and has indicated that as long as I am losing weight, eating well, and exercising, I am succeeding! I have to say, it's nice not to feel like I am being evaluated every time I go in, because then it would just feel like every other diet I have ever been on! This feels more like a shift in my body and my brain, and everyone is on my supportive team.
-
Weigh-in day for me - I am down one pound, and now I am starting to believe that i will never weigh over 200 pounds again. It's like the farther I get from 200, the more confident I feel! So I will take the pound happily, which puts me at 196.8.

I'm now losing 1.5 to 2.5 pounds a week, and I am just shy of two months post-surgery. I have to say I really like the rate of loss, it's subtle but steady!
castiel reacted to this -
I have noticed that my lifelong OCD symptoms which have been relatively minor in the past 10 years have worsened since surgery - there are some positive repercussions of that, namely, all of my closets have been emptied, vacuumed and cleaned out since my surgery in December! But the negative repercussions are that I feel extremely uncomfortable when my kids make messes in the house (this has not bothered me for years) and I find myself getting "stuck" for hours (e.g., spending three hours looking for a new rug for my office online). My husband has noticed and commented on this resurgence of obsessions and compulsive behaviors, but I feel pretty aware of it. I'm not too worried about it, I expect that part of it is due to an increase in energy level I feel overall, and as long as my husband and I can laugh about my quirks, I think we're good!

I made it to ONE-DERLAND! Down 1.6 pounds from last week to 199.6. This is fun!
All of my December sleevers...

I am at 175.8, and I don't really have a firm goal weight (my doctor did not specify one either), my size 14 clothes are starting to be too loose and I can feel that I am about to gear down to a size 12. I would like to hit 150 next a re-evaluate, and after a long stall, I have lost a pound and a half this week. Now I am at the beach and having cucumbers, tomatoes, grouper, and bananas for lunch YUM! I find that I am not stressed at all about numbers, just happy to be slowly heading in the right direction. I am not exercising as I should, and that is my next goal now that we are back in a routine as a family - starting back on walking and yoga this week
Everyone has had such success! So inspiring to read your stories and your challenges, too...
