Thanksgiving Day Challenge
I started this challenge weighing 213, I'm down 9 lbs as of Nov 15, so I'm changing my goal. I'm shooting for getting rid of another 2 lbs before Thanksgiving. I'd like to try for onderland but I'm worried it might not be very healthy to try and lose 5 lbs in a week.

Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
Yes He is! I didn't think I'd ever be to this point (almost 60 lbs gone) and still losing. Thank God for the wisdom He gave doctors and surgeons that allowed this procedure to happen. I'm off diabetes, high blood pressure meds and high cholesterol. God is GOOD!

Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
I've been using their shampoo and conditioner too, as well as taking biotin. I haven't noticed any drastic hair loss yet, knock on wood! I'm learning to be a better judge of how much food I can eat. My husband came home with tiny corelle bowls that only hold 6 oz. for me. That helps too. I keep track of my food on mfp but sometimes at the end of the day, I feel like I've been eating all day long and I'm amazed that I haven't gained weight.

5 Confessions (Join In)
Well I can relate to this except for "having another baby" a little too late for me to do that LOL. I confess that I have eaten small chunks of homemade brownies that my daughter made. I confess that a small part of me is ok with throwing up when I eat too much because I'd rather throw up than be fat again. I confess that I still haven't exactly figured out how much to eat and I often eat too fast to "listen" to my body. I need to work on that! I confess that I haven't worked out today at all! Then I worry that I'm sabotaging my own weightloss...

September 6Th Sleevers, Where Are You?!?
I'm a Sept 5th Sleever, I've lost 39 lbs since the surgery. And I've stalled for a couple of weeks too. I had a head cold that thankfully wasn't too bad. So it sounds like you're on track. Keep up the good work!

Success That I Can Only Share Here
I just kept asking my husband if he was sure it looked good on me (they don't have mirrors in Costco). Well I bought it and looked at myself in the mirror when I got home and it did look good. Go figure!

Brand Spankin New! Where Do I Start?
Do it now! That's the best advice I can give you. Find a good surgeon in your area, make sure the insurance is going to cover him and the hospital, find out what else the surgeon and the insurance need to pre-approve you. Go for it!! You won't regret it!

Success That I Can Only Share Here
I was sleeved on Sep 5th, I lost 20 lbs on the pre-op diet and 38 since surgery. I've gone from wearing size 22-24W to 16W. I feel like I can't rejoice with my family because several of them are still where I was and it feels like I would be gloating or something. But I hope that my fellow sleevers will understand. I tried on an XL woman's coat at Costco today and it fit, in fact it was too big. I tried on the Large coat and it FIT. I mean the buttons buttoned and it felt good! Do you know how long it has been since I've worn a size Large???? 29 or 30 years!!!! YEARS!!! I am still in shock. I know I've lost weight but I guess I have no concept of what size I am now. Thank you for letting me get that off my chest (hahaha).

Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
It's hard knowing what to eat. My husband is a great chef, and he tries to make food I can eat but after 3 bites I'm done. And if I ignore the portion control because it tastes good, then I get to race to the bathroom and throw up. I count it a good day when I haven't thrown up. I've tried a little salad (I used to eat them everyday). My stomach gurgled but it stayed down. Imitation crab meat is working well for me, better than tuna. Every day is a new experience, some are good and some aren't. I feel like I'm grazing all day too, hungry every 2 hours it seems like.

My Biggest Fear
I share those same fears, as I'm sure many of us do. I've lost 50 lbs since I started with the Pre-op diet and getting sleeved. It's only been since Sept 5th and I'm already wondering if this is all I'm going to lose. My brain tells me that it's obvious that I will continue losing based on the small amount of food I eat now. But the underlying fear is still there. On the plus side, I'm no longer considered to have high blood pressure, high cholesterol and I'm almost off all the diabetes meds. That is the real victory for me.

Down In The Dumps!
I've been stalled at 32 lbs for 2 weeks. 7 weeks out too, I followed advice on here and ate more protein. I just finally lost another lb. It will work for you too.

Changes In My Medical Co-Morbidities!
I'm 6 weeks out and had blood work done for my PCP. Amazing results, my high blood pressure is no longer a problem - I haven't taken any meds since I was sleeved and my blood pressure is a steady 118/74. WOW! My high cholesterol is fine, well under 150. My A1c was over 8 in July, it's 5.5 now! Totally AMAZING! I feel wonderful - which wasn't always the case since the surgery - but the memories fade and the feeling of well-being and fitness is growing daily. I hope the rest of the Sept sleevers are seeing similar results! Let's keep on going!

Really Sick, Need Help!
It does get better, hang in there and keep sipping liquids - warm or room temp go down better. .

Size And Body Image
Congratulations on the weight loss.

Really Sick, Need Help!
If you are at home, find someone to drive you to the emergency room. You need liquids and if you're throwing up everything you'll dehydrate quickly!

Thanksgiving Day Challenge
I'm in, I've been stalled for a week or more. I've lost 32 lbs since surgery on 9/5/12. I'm going to try to lose 10 lbs by Thanksgiving, Wish me luck!

Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
I've been stalled for at least a week now. So I've been reading the advice on here and I'm trying to get more calories. I've also started strength training today. I seem to get the water in ok. I found myself worrying today that I was eating too much, part of me wanted to go back to the full liquid phase of just drinking protein shakes and water because I saw the weight fall off then. I actually felt like I wished I could throw-up after I ate lunch. But I know that's not the way I want to go about this. So I need to be strong and keep on going the right way.

Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
I've hit the 5th or 6th week stall. I've been at the same weight for over a week. I'm increasing my exercise and I'm using MFP to keep track of my food. I'm vjfritts on mfp. This too will pass, I hope.

Chili
I was sleeved 9/5, I ate 8 oz of split pea soup for lunch. No crackers. I was full afterwards but not overly.

What Were Your Best Foods To Eat Post Op
Campbell's Cheddar Cheese soup made with skim milk and slowly stirring in some unjury unflavored protein. I got tired of chicken bouillon, so I heated up some chicken noodle soup and strained the noodles and chicken out. So much more flavor than just bouillon.

Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
I'm having trouble with eggs, I can't eat more than a bite or two, hard boiled or scrambled. I used to eat them all the time (high protein and low carb for my diabetic diet), Seems strange not to be able to eat them now. Tuna is ok, chicken is also not easy to get down, just a few bites does it. I ate about 4 low fat crackers today - heavenly.

Done With 6Th Visit
I'm so sorry for the additional complications that you have to deal with. It sounds like you could really use a support system. Does your doc or anyone in your area offer something like that? In my area there is a group of sleevers and By pass patients that meet every month and we also have a facebook page, I hope there is something similar in your area. This forum is extremely supportive too. Good luck!

Feeling Fit & Fabulous!
Congratulations! I was sleeved on Sept 5th, just 4 days before my 52nd birthday. I have noticed collar bones (who knew I had those?) and skinny wrists and fingers (my wedding ring almost falls off now). Even my toes look skinny. I've got a lot of excess skin and fat still on my torso, but even that is going down. Cheers to the best birthday of our lives and the beginning of our new lives!
