  1. Just an update-- the pain was definitely from too much stomach acid. Got back on the prevacid and within 2 days I had no more pain Sweet relief!!
  2. I am kind of baffled as to what is going on with me. I was three months post op on dec 20th. I never had an issue with food after surgery. I did liquids for the first week then jumped right into solid foods after that with no issues. Yesterday I took two bites of food and I got tummy pain. Ive eaten turkey before with no problem. Around 830pm I knew I needed to eat so I tried string cheese (I eat it All the time) and got the pain again so didnt finish it. So I dont eat anything today but try and get liquids down but I get a very uncomfortable fullness with water. I took a drink of water and then immediately vomited up about 12 oz of stomach bile. I am totally worried at this point because Ive never thrown up bile. Im feeling hungry so I have a very small bite of lean ground beef and pain and nausia hit again Could this just be a stomach bug? Have anyone else experienced anything like this months post op? I would really appreciate you input!
  3. Thanks so much for the info Karissa!!
  4. I hope and pray I can convince my mom to get this surgery. She is being so stubborn and doesnt think it will work because in the 80's she had a stomach stapeling and gained all the weight back With how heavy she is I cant imagine her having much time left. Im very happy for you and your mother. That was awesome you were able to show her the many benefits of being sleeved and that she followed your lead
  5. Would not taking a strong enough acid reducer cause the pain I get while eating???
  6. I actually ran out of my perscription acid reducer so I have been taking a cheap over the counter one with tums. The burning is terrible and I am constantly getting little bubbles in my throat. I will have to have my surgeon send in a new perscription for the Acid reducer and see if that is the problem. Thank you!

  8. surgery was 9/27 and tomorrow will be 12 weeks. I have lost 39lbs since the day of surgery. The low weight loss is due to my terrible eating, old habbits die hard :/

cannot gulp down drink in the summer?

I was able to drink normal and gulp if I wanted after 3 to 4 weeks! I dont think it takes very long to be able to get a good amount of fluid down after the surgery!

My heart goes out to you. I also had surgery two months ago and three weeks ago I found my husband and my best friend making out after they thought I was asleep. It hella sucks but only you will know what you need to do. I stayed also because of our 6 year old boy. rough situations to be in. Keep your head up!

I started getting hungry on day 5. The hunger came on fast and strong. I hope you all are stronger than me during that time because I started eating regular food to soon and it wasnt healthy food either. I pushed my little tummy to the max for the next 3-4weeks. I am very lucky I didn't get a leak. the last couple of weeks I got back on track and I haven't been as hungry. Even the smallest amount of carbs can really trigger the hunger. This is such a radical change for us but hang in there because it can get better and our self control gets stronger with every good choice we make Best wishes to all of you!

    Where's My Miracle?

Im 6 weeks out and lost about the same. It is discouraging at times but the good thing is the sleeve wont disapear so we will have time on our side. Best wishes to all of you <3
  16. Great Question! I hope some one has the answer. I to drink a lot and fast with no issues. I sure hope it doesn't stretch the tummy.
  17. Hhhmmm, The next step would be to call around to clinics and other places that accept blue cross Medi-cal and ask if they are part of a Medical Group. Or better yet, you could possibly get info from Blue cross themselves and ask them?

    Blood Clots?

No stockings and no blood thinners from my Dr. He just made sure I new that I would get a clot if I wasnt walking 6 times a day and doing arm and leg movements while laying down for the first month! I Kept moving, clots are scary!!!
  19. Me too! Its nice to have someone close to go on this journey with
  20. Ask me as many questions as you can! Thats why we come here, I am glad I can help you You have to call Blue cross (the number should be on the back of your card) and tell them who you want to change your primary care provider to. Before you do that, You should try calling some local Urgent Cares and make sure they see pateints on a regular basis, confirm they are not part of a Medical Group and then ask if their Dr."s are willing to send referals out for weightloss surgery. Hopefully that should cover it
  21. Yup, Urgent Care are not usually associated with Medical Groups. Definitely ask your local Urgent Care first but it should work out just fine!
  22. I have Anthem Blue Cross Medi-Cal. I live in Lathrop. Its about 15 miles past stockton. Do you have the place you want to be sleeved picked out yet? If you have any issues finding a place I strongly suggest Dr. Coates in Modesto. He was amazing
  23. I should mention that I was originally being seen with a medical group and almost all medical groups require the 6 month diet so I switched over to being seen at a local urgent care and was approved without the supervised diet (just my diet history).
  24. I have ANthem Blue Cross also (Im a student too) and I was approved My surgery was september 27th. The insurance didnt request 6 month supervised Dr. dieting, all I had to do was write down my past diet attempts in my surgeons packet. Everything went incredibly smooth. Where are you located?
  25. A lot of state and federal medical Insurance are covering this procedure. If you have no income you should qualify for some type of medical through your local state.
