and good luck with everything. I dont mean that in a bad way either. Just be prepared, idk if it was just me put everyone said their pain was worst with the sleeve but mine is worst this time it hurts to breath and that may be cause of my complications before and what they found after.

I have Acid reflux, kidney infection, dehydration been in the hospital 2x for dehydration and kidney infection. Now that im out of surgery my pancreas was irritated. Dont have ll the details yet havent seen the doctor since i came out of recovery a few hours ago

I pray it gets better and i hope yours go smoothly i was 7m out from having the sleeve 12/2/17 bypass 07/28/17

Hi I'm 3 days post op and still very sore, each day it has got a little better but my advice would be to keep up the pain medicine, I was trying to be brave and not have the strong stuff last night and wish I had now, make sure haven't got a temperature with the pain in case it's an infection, we will get through this then we can Celebrate life!

I may not be the best person to reply, but I can tell you that the first week for me was the hardest! I didn't have pain, but I couldn't drink! I craved Water so bad, but I just COULD NOT drink. I am now 12 days post op, and things are 95% better. I can drink with no problem and I have started eating. I still get tired easily, but each day is a little better. Hang in there, you will do great. One day at a time!!!

Thank you so much 😊 for responding and I will keep up with my pain medication. It's too late for regrets so I will try to be more positive!

Once I cleared out all my trigger foods from home, I realized that most of my emotional eating happened at work (I'm a teacher). Toward the end of the last school year, I made it a goal not to eat anything except the food I brought with me for lunch. The first student birthday after I started my program's pre op diet was very hard, but I realized that i would be OK if I didn't have a cupcake. The 2nd and 3rd birthdays were easier.
Instead of celebrating small victories with food, I started buying myself flowers. I also made a little chart to record the # of days I'd ignored head hunger, kind of like a "this many days without an accident" poster. It helped me think about whether or not a food choice was worth going back to zero.

I had bloodless vsg here in Houston w Dr. Marvin..yes a surgeon must be trained in this technique, aware of the alternative treatments if something goes wrong, and the hospital should be equiped with things like cell savers. I also started a regiment of EPO months before surgery to build my blood count. Very important that the anethesiologist (not sure if i spelled wrong) is aware of your wishes.
