  1. Chike is my favorite and the only one I could stand after surgery. They have a sample pack of all their flavors you can get from their website...just google Chike and it will come up. Banana is my favorite with strawberry and vanilla a very close second. I sometimes mix the strawberry and banana and it is sooo yummy. I have a ninja and use it to crush ice to add to it and it tastes just like a strawberry banana smoothie!
  2. My 10 year old daughter putting her arms around me and saying "Mommy, I can hug you all the way around now!" Happiness is also buying a new pair of jeans and the size on the tag doesn't have a "W" after it!! What are your new found happinesses?

    Where Is Everyone From?

    Port St Lucie, Florida
  4. It really depends on what powder you use, the one I use tastes the same whether I use water or milk. You maybe lactose intolerant after surgery so you may want to get used to mixing with water.
  5. A juicy perfectly cooked Ribeye steak with a garden salad and baked potato with butter and sour cream...yum yum!!

    Sf Fudgesicles

Look for Bryers Carb Smart fudgecicles. they are Awesome!!! I could only eat a couple of tiny bites to begin with but now they are my go to when I need a ice cream fix. They are kind of like creamy chocolate milk on a stick so deliciously yummy! You would never know they are not bad for you!

    Soda

Not weird at all...I do the same thing! The weird thing is that I can't do Diet Coke anymore (even though I was a junkie pre sleeve) I had to have the soft ice and Pepsi...I let it sit for a few minutes in the soft ice and it seems to become less "fizzy" then all I need is a couple of small sips and i'm good. I even went out and bought a Ninja and a bag of ice so I could make it at home...works GREAT!! The ice comes out like snow (works great with Crystal Light too...just like a snow cone!) I only do this whenever the craving comes up )which is not very often at all, maybe once every couple of weeks) it's refreshing and gets me over some bad need a little sugar times.

    48 Hrs After Surgery

    1. Yes it is normal to have not had a bowel movement yet. It too a good week or more for me to finally have one. You have to remember that you are only taking in liquids...no solids to be broken down and expelled. 2. sleep where you are most comfortable and makes it easier for you to negotiate getting up and down. The pain will subside soon. Did you get pain meds? Use them for your discomfort they really seem to help. 3. I would wait as long as you could to go back to work for comforts sake as well as you are getting used to a new diet and way of eating. Getting started is easier at home until you get a routine down. I waited 3 weeks and still feel I went back too soon. Hope this answers your questions!

    Mornings Ugh!

Thanks for the advice, I will definitely be trying more fluids before bed!
  12. Does anyone else feel sick in the morning? I can't even think about an egg and brushing my teeth even makes me want to hurl! I hate this feeling, I've had 4 kids and never had morning sickness! Is there a remedy for this?
  13. I thought it sounded like alot too. I talked to my surgeon yesterday and he said not to worry about that. The protein is whats most important right now, and before I found Chike, I was barely getting any protein at all. I just could not stand any of it.
  14. CHIKE for sure!!! I have spent so much money on these powders and could not stomach any of them for one reason or another, taste, chalky, aftertaste, consistency. A friend let me have a taste of her CHIKE banana shake and I was hooked. It is so smooth and creamy and no aftertaste. I honestly thought she made it with bananas. 28 grams of protein per serving. Its just like drinking a banana milkshake. You can order from CHIKE nutrition website. They have a sample pack you can order with all of their flavors in it. I haven't tried the others yet but hear they are just as awesome.

3 Days Post Op And Feeling Low Help!

A little better today. Powerade seems to be helping with the dehydration and I am making a concious effort to walk around the house in short spurts. I did a little cheat just to make myself feel better...took a small nibble from a Bryers Carb Smart fudge bar...it really hit the spot because I really wanted something creamy like ice cream! Tasted so good! Even after the rough couple of days, I would still do it again...12 pounds since surgery!

3 Days Post Op And Feeling Low Help!

Sooo glad to hear i'm not alone in this. I was sleeved Thursday morning June 28th and today is the worst I have ever had. Nothing is staying down, I feel empty, cannot tolerate one more sip of plain water or fruity flavored anything. Guess I am in the "why the hell did I do this" stage. I cannot even eat jello (something I loved before surgery). I feel like I am getting dehydrated but as of today, I cannot keep even water down. Hoping for a better tomorrow.
