  1. Hi! I had surgery one day before you on the 16th, and Water is very hard for me, too! I feel the same pain you are describing. I tried warm tea but it wasn't any better. I think very thin liquid hurts worse right now which makes no sense to me. My Protein shake is actually easier to drink than the Water. And I am drinking a lot of broth because it does down easy.

"They" say it gets better as the swelling goes down. Just wanted to let you know you are not alone!

  2. Hi! Hope everyone is doing well! I slept 8 hours in my own bed last night and feel so much better with the rest. I've been sipping broth but having a lot of trouble finding something to drink. Any suggestions? Water is hard to get down. I'm no where near getting enough!

I'm just a little sore, and haven't needed any pain meds at all.

Everyone check in when you can!

  3. I am scheduled for surgery Monday the 16th, and I am naturally a bit nervous about it. One thing that is concerning me is the fear of post op nausea due to anesthesia and the fear of continued nausea and vomiting for a long time.

I experienced terrible morning sickness when I was pregnant. It continued all day for 5 months. I was sick around 20 times a day, and it was such a terrible struggle to get through each day.

I was reading in some material given to me by my doctor that said people who had morning sickness when they were pregnant had a greater chance of having post op nausea and continued nausea. No!! I really hope this is not the case. I am self pay and so worried about extra days in the hospital due to nausea.

Has anyone had terrible morning sickness, but had no nausea post vsg? Just hoping someone can reassure me.

    Thanks!
