  1. That fitness chick is funny. Haha Good luck newgrandma, glad everything turned out OK!!
  2. I am 2.5 weeks postop and walking - movement of any kind, really - makes my largest incision hurt. That sucker is painful. I wear support panties and Spanx to hold it in, but it's sharp piercing pain when I move too much. It's a normal pain and it gets a tiny bit better every day, so I do what I can.
  3. That is so true!!! Once I start feeling it, I have the urge to drink something to "get it down" but it doesn't work.

    Pre-Op Diet A Fail

That's a crappy thing to say and there is always someone who says this when someone says they're having trouble. Geez. Nobody loves the pre-op diet and everyone has moments where they feel like a failure.
  5. I got up to walk the day of surgery, but holy heck was I in pain. I walked out into the hall and walked back to my bed that I couldn't even get back into because of the pain. But not to worry, every day really does get a little better!
  6. I had surgery on 8/29 and since then I've lost my 3 year old!! Congratulations!! You look great and much happier!!

    Sleeve Done On 9/12

Before surgery, I used to drink 3-4 liters of water/day and I hated crystal light and that drink garbage. Now, 2.5 weeks post op, I find it hard to drink plain Water. I can only sip it. When something has flavor, I can gulp it. I'm changing my tune about crystal light!

    Pre-Op Diet A Fail

If surgery is Tues, you only have 3 days left of this! You can do it!!
  9. I am a little more than 2 weeks and my stomach area still hurts a lot sometimes, depending on my activity level. It's around the largest incision mostly. Every day is a tiny bit better, though!

    Severe Stabbing Pain!

If I were you, I'd be at my 24 hr Walgreens buying up pregnancy tests to see for myself!! Congratulations if you are!!! Yay!!! I gained 60 lbs + with each of my 2 kids, I was able to lose most with the first kid, not at all with the second kid. I used to dread my checkups because I would gain so much each visit. The sleeve may well be a blessing for you!!

    Can Eat Everything

I'm like you, I can tolerate pretty much everything I try to eat or drink. And like you, I'm sticking to "the plan". It doesn't mean I am shoving pizza and ice cream down my gullet.
  13. Do you have to do any other pre-diet? Like low-carb? Protein Drinks? Anything like that? Halloween will be here before you know it!!
  14. My surgery was 8/29. I was 333 before pre-op diet. 318 day of surgery. 303 this morning. So, 15 lbs since surgery, 30 total. My first doctor's followup is Monday (I had to reschedule) and I want to be under 300!
  15. For the last 2 days I have only been eating Protein and let me tell you, it helps A LOT. Shredded chicken, cottage cheese, soft mozzarella, tuna, Protein shakes, etc. my hunger pangs have quieted down!!
  16. For what it's worth, for the past 2 days I've been ONLY eating Protein. Deli turkey, cottage cheese, eggs, shredded chicken, Protein shakes.... and my hunger pangs have all but disappeared. Mashed potatoes, cream of wheat, pudding... mushy and delicious but not worth it.
  17. I don't get how some surgeons "allow" puree'd food on day 2, while some make you wait til day 14. And those who wait til day 14 are made to think their staples will bust and they will die by eating some apple sauce.
  18. I wonder -- would adding Protein powder to EVERYTHING make it more substantial? I ate 1/2 can tuna for dinner with some mayo about 3 hours ago, with about 3 bites of my kids chicken. Now the hunger monster is back. I'm drinking Water.
  19. Do you have a handheld blender? I puree just about everything. My favorite is Indian food -- it's usually mushy already. Palak Paneer is pureed spinach and cheese. YUM
