    Peanut butter cookie shake, omg!

What is the protein count on this? And what kind of protein? I tried looking on Amazon and it mentioned Whey Protein Concentrate but I'm not sure. I was always told to have Whey Protein Isolate. Thanks!

    Who is in March?

Hit -80lbs over the weekend. I am roughly 3.5 months out. Can't wait until I hit the -100, I have a lot of (non-food) rewards planned for myself! Hope everyone's well!

Same... It's coming out by the handfuls in the shower. Just trying to keep confident that it is temporary and will be worth it. Until then... My hair stays in a ponytail!

I really want to try the Chike Iced Coffee! I miss my coffee so much. I had low potassium levels and was put on K-Tabs (potassium supplement) for two weeks. Got my levels re-tested last week and they're back to normal. Now to keep them up... Lol

    March 2014 Sleevers

Yes, definitely. To everyone else I am shrinking right before their eyes but to me when I look in the mirror I still see a blob of fat. But then I saw a pic of myself from last week and it took me a couple seconds to realize that it was me. I don't think my brain is keeping up with my body at all!

    Questions....questions...questions....

Fluids really won't stretch your stomach since it goes through so quickly. Just don't gulp because that can come with air which can get uncomfortable. Take bigger sips but sloooowww so that you aren't putting any strain on your staples by putting too much in too fast. At 3 months out I can take normal drinks but I am still careful not to gulp. I love my water!

Papaya enzyme has been my savior. I take 2-4 after every meal and it helps with digestion and it has made it so I have a BM every day or two. Plus it helps with that icky sicky full feeling that we experience all too often.

    Wonderful job!
  9. Hi all, just had to share my progress with you! I am so excited I can barely stand it. This surgery was the best decision I've ever made. I will be 3 months out June 5th and I am down a little over 70 lbs! I am almost halfway to goal. Pics:

    70 lbs down progress pics

Thanks everyone! @@Nicey2u I haven't encountered a stall by definition, but there are times where I stay at the same weight for a week or so. Exercise always pushes me past it though.

    My next life journey

I'd say the biggest challenges are getting in Protein and planning meals. For me at least. Before surgery it's easy to say you will be good with protein but it really is hard after surgery when your tastes change. Meals after surgery are a complete 180 compared to what I was used to. But luckily I love eating healthy now. Junk food makes me gag because I know it will not make my sleeve happy at all. Portions are only like 4 oz so a lot of food tends to go to waste with me. I do save it for later days but a lot of times I find I do not want it again. Everyone has their own struggles but mine are pretty mild. All in all I love my sleeve
  12. I'm getting an IUD next month as well but it is the non-hormonal kind so *crossing fingers* HOPEFULLY it doesn't stall me either. Keep us updated!

    My next life journey

Congrats on this new journey. It really is an amazing (in more ways than one!) one. I have been overweight and a foodaholic my entire life as well. This surgery saved my life. Good luck

You're definitely right about the "getting into is not the same as fitting in to" that's for sure. Great job on your NSV!

    March 2014 Sleevers

NSV: Zipped up a pair of size 16s today! I started out in a tight 22. Might wait until I lose another 10 lbs or so before I wear them out in public though as the muffin top is really bad (as you can tell!)

    February/March 2014 sleevers

Same here. I used to have tons of energy postop, but I have been dragging ass. I sometimes feel myself nodding off at work. No bueno. This was happening to me and doc said it was my low protein levels. When I upped my protein (over 100g is what I shoot for now) I felt a zillion times better. Hope that helps. Wow how do you manage 100g of protein? That's like 4 protein shakes a day for me.

    February/March 2014 sleevers

I'm glad this thread has resurfaced . In regards to reflux, I just took my last of the recommended prescribed antacid this week. I still feel like I might take some OTC stuff though because i do still get that burning feeling in my stomach that tends to imitate hunger. I just passed two months out on the 5th and I've lost 65 lbs. Obviously I am thrilled about that, but still got a lot to go though. Exercise has really pushed me though a lot quicker. Some weeks I lose a lb a day, some weeks it seems like it's only 2 lbs a week. So bumping up exercise breaks those "stalls".
  19. I'm getting the copper Para Guard put in next month so this is great to hear. I've never had an IUD before so I am a little skeptical. You don't use any other birth control besides that? We want to be able to have unprotected sex and have him be able finish inside (TMI). We want to have another baby once I reach goal and it's been the proper amount of time after surgery 1.5-2 years). Do you still have regular periods? Are tampons still easy to use with it in? Sorry for all the questions lol.

Bad breath? How about having sex again?

My tongue got white after surgery. It was pretty gross. I looked it up and all things pointed to constipation, which I was, and it ended up going away after I was able to have a bm. Also, Protein shakes give me terrible breath. Especially the costco ones. Could be that too?

    March 2014 Sleevers

I am 2 months out now. I can't believe how fast this has all gone by. I am down 65 lbs now. It took a while to get out of the 260's for some reason, but now the 250's are going by fast. I am glad to finally have less than 100 lbs to lose now lol. My potassium came back low so now I am on a supplement for that. I am still having trouble getting in the full protein amount. I pretty much try any foods now. Obviously not the bad ones. But for instance I had a chicken salad the other night and I did just fine. It was only a few bites but you know what I mean. I am going to post a progress pic with my phone after this post. So just a fair warning: they're undies pics so I hope I don't offend.

    March 2014 Sleevers

Hi Sleevie! I also just returned to the gym for the first time since my surgery, but my NUT recommended I exercise in a different way. He told me to avoid aerobic exercises (treadmill, elliptical, etc.) and instead focus on anaerobic exercise, specifically weight-lifting. He said the best way to avoid flappy skin is to pack as much muscle on as possible. But, I'm a guy with previous weight-lifting experience, and I live in Japan and there's not many sleevers around for the doc to compare me too. Thanks for the tip. I need to be lifting weights anyway. I did about 10 arm curls with a 2.5 weight and it was too much for me. I can barely pick up my 4 year old now and she's 45 lbs. I have a baaaadd feeling I am losing muscle. Yes it deff will help. My surgeon said excersie will help ur body to burn fat and help you to tone the skin that was stretched. He did say that it all depends on your starting weight and age though too. So hopefully it helps u in the best way. Good luck. Thank you. I am going to take baby steps with this exercise and strength training. Sorry that you had to get that done. But at least now you will have a little more room for your food so you can eat comfortably. Great job

    struggling trying hit calories

Everyone's docs are different. Mine says as long as you are hitting your Protein and Water guidelines then calories are not a big issue.

You know you lost weight when

When you can take off your jeans without even unbuttoning and unzipping them. Glad I've got a pair in a smaller size! Sitting down and then crossing your legs comfortably as if you've been doing it for years. Still takes me by surprise when I do it. Looking down while sitting and being able to see your lap. Realizing you've been walking around all day and your feet haven't hurt at all (my personal fave)
