  1. In my opinion, it sounds like an error. The port is part of the lap band, in that you wouldn't have it if you didn't have the band. Therefore, it should have been removed with the band. I'm thinking it was an oversight. I would call the surgeon and tell them they need to have it removed at their expense. You already paid for the revision so you shouldn't have to pay for an additional surgery.

  2. Anyone out there been sleeved without telling anyone? Do people look at you weird when you only take two bites of a meal and are done? Perhaps I'll change my mind, but right now I don't plan on telling a whole lot of people, but I'm worried about social gatherings and whether people will realize that somethings up. Your thoughts?

  3. Oh man, I feel for you. I remember when I was quitting smoking it was SO HARD! People kept telling me that it's out of your system in three days. Like that's supposed to make it easier! It unbelievably difficult for the first three weeks. Seriously didn't know if I'd make it or not. Somewhere in the fourth week it started to ease up a bit, so hang in there!!! That's not to say that it suddenly got easier, because it didn't. It slowly slowly started taking up less space in my obsessive mind. I'm not gonna lie to you, I still get cravings once in awhile, but they are NOTHING like they were in the beginning. You CAN do this. Just keep fighting. Never give up!

  4. So you made some choices you wish you hadn't made. You can decide right now to turn around and start over. We've all been there. That's why we're getting sleeved...our own motivation lacks at times, and we need a powerful tool to help us. That's what the sleeve will do. Don't beat yourself up. You're human. And you are on an amazing journey. Just commit to restarting from here. You're doing great!!

  5. I'm looking forward to not having the steering wheel rub up against my stomach when I'm driving because my belly is too big and my legs are too short to make driving possible otherwise. I'm looking forward to going out to a restaurant and not worrying if I'll fit in the seat or the booth. Oh, and to have the towel fit all the way around me. To not have my feet hurt after standing for only five minutes. To not get winded walking up a flight of stairs. To not always be the biggest one in the room. To maybe, possibly find someone to settle down with and live this blessed life with!

  6. Wow. You must have been so disappointed to wake up and find out it had not been done. Personally, I've chosen to go with the sleeve because it tends to have less complications and also because I was concerned about the malabsorption with the bypass. I am being sleeved on July 6th so we'll be doing this journey together!! Good luck!

  7. So I'm scheduled to be sleeved on Friday. And judging by the signs my body is giving me, it looks like I'm going to be on my period during the surgery. Yuck! I'm really freaked out about this. I'm sleeving in Mexico so the plane tickets are bought and the procedure is all paid for already and can't be refunded so rescheduling is not an option. What do I do?
