    Teachers? Where Are The Teachers?

Former teacher here! I taught 5th grade last year, this year I got a position as psychometrist. I've been pretty open about my surgery. I was hoping to get my surgery in June so I had all summer to loose, but I'm scheduled for July 27. I hate that my rapid weight loss phase will be during the beginning of school... I travel to different schools now and I was hoping for better "first impressions."
  3. Cheri I am pre-surgery (date is July 27), but we are doing the surgery at the recommendation of my RE. Thanks for sharing your journey because it is extremely motivating. I packed on 28 pound from all of the hormones during our previous iui cycles, so I feel your pain there! It is for a great cause though! How many embryos did you transfer?

    Sad

Sorry Tabby, I know that hurts. If they can't see your beauty thick, they don't deserve it thin!

    Body Dysmorphia In Reverse

Linda, I can relate to family not seeing it! My husband doesn't seem to notice at all. But once we had a foster child that said, "You need to stop eating so you can be flat like us." Totally innocent, but I was certainly faced with reality!

You look wonderful! How encouraging...thanks for posting!

    Body Dysmorphia In Reverse

I totally understand! It is like you read my mind...I seriously have thought these same thoughts! I am not sure what it is...but you are not alone!
  8. After waiting for two months (after meeting my requirements) for my pcp and my surgeon to commincuate...I finally got a date!!! I will be sleeved on July 27th! I am so excited (and nervous)!

    Finally Got A Date!

Thanks Kathy! It seems more real now that I have a definite date.
  10. I liked the strawberry muscle milk, it's the only one I've tried that I liked so far. I haven't heard anybody else mention it so I hope it is o.k.
  11. Sorry Johnathan! I know that stinks...I've been dealing with stuff like this for the past two months! It's like I have to call and BEG doctors/hospitals for records. Just found out anesthesia records I requested a month ago have still not been sent to surgeon!

    Any Sleevers With Pcos?

The laser treatments did not work for me at all, but there is a prescription cream called Vaniqa that helps some. Insurance doesn't cover it so it's a little pricey, but they usually give me a discount card for it.

    Loose Clothes!

Yay!!!! Congrats... that has to be a wonderful feeling!
  14. I have laughed and cried while reading these posts! It is good to know I'm not the only one who feels this way! My husband has never said anything negative about my weight, but I always hesitate to go do things (ie. company picnics, reunions, large family gatherings) with him because I don't want to embarrass him. I would love to get rid of that feeling! I also look forward to possibly getting pregnant (we've been doing fertility treatments for 6 years), outdoor sports like kayaking, hiking, ziplining...pretty much all the things already mentioned!

    Hot Dogs & Sausages

That literally made me LOL!!! I could so see my husband doing that : ) I enjoy the Hebrew National and the Nathan's, but I haven't been sleeved yet so I really enjoy just about everything but protien drinks right now.
  16. When I checked my bloodsugar I realized that I cannot have anymore "last meals!" Back to reality. Now I'm just thinking about all of the wonderful stuff I'll be able to do when I'm thinner : )
  17. I had the exact same thing when I had my breast reduction! The doctor told me the exact same thing, nerves regenerating.
  18. My insurance required a three year weight history so that would not have worked for me. I have gained a few pounds over the last couple of months though, I think from too many "last" meals. Anybody have that problem?
  19. I just ordered some syntrax nectar samples too. I have the unjury and about time samples, just haven't worked up the nerve to try them yet. Has anyone tried the muscle milk?

    Uncooperative Pcp?

I wish mine hadn't pretended to be so supportive in the beginning. I've done my monthly weigh-ins with him for 8 months now! I was hoping to have surgery this week or next, but he STILL hasn't sent the needed information to the surgeon! I don't have time to start over from scratch, so I guess I'm at his mercy.
  21. Can't wait to hear how it tastes...my experience yesterday was terrible with Chike! Would love a link to where you found the samples.

Thanks for sharing! That is very encouraging!

    Any Sleevers With Pcos?

Oh, this is very encouraging!! Our last round I was having to take 400units of gonal-f each night and boy did that get expensive!!! RE said that after weight loss, it probably won't take that much medicine : ) I'm also diabetic and can't wait to get rid of that monster! It is the other reason I really wanted this surgery (actually there are soooo many reasons to do it).

    Any Sleevers With Pcos?

Wow Karen, sounds like we are in this for similar reasons ; ) Do you know how long you have to wait before you can try?
