    First Day Of Pre-Op Diet

Today's my first day on pre-op. I'm doing o.k., but it's only 8:30 in the morning! I haven't had to eat yet : ) I keep telling myself, "One good choice at a time!" Easier said than done!

    5 More Days!

Exciting! Mine is a week from today...so today starts my pre-op diet! How are you doing on your pre-op diet? Is it harder/easier than you expected?

    Foster Children

That is an EXCELLENT idea! Thanks!
  5. So I am scheduled to have surgery on July 27th and found out today I will be getting two foster children (elementary age girls) 7 days after surgery. Just need some advice, is this going to be "do able"?

    Vitamin D

I had low Vit. D also. Finally got my levels up to normal range, but it took a while (and a trip to the beach)!

    Foster Children

Thanks for the replies...and the honesty! Mina, the stories of people crying at the table is really what scares me! As it is now, I really wouldn't have to cook. It's just me and my husband (he can fend for himself ; ) This would really throw a wrench in that area. I'm really counting on being one of those people that aren't tempted. I really believe I'll be o.k. if I stay prepared with foods I can have on hand. I always run into trouble with my eating when I'm not prepared! I go for the quick (and unhealthy) stuff!

    Foster Children

The agency knows what is going on, they really wanted me to take them August 1! if things aren't going well after surgery, I'll call them and see if they can hold off some more. I hate for them to come at a time when I'm not at my best, but I also hate for them to be sent to a group home. Terrible timing!

  11. So sorry! I have been through this several times and I understand how painful it is to loose a baby! You are in my prayers!

    Help I've Been So Lazy

I haven't been sleeved yet, but have the same trouble you do about planning meals! I have been thinking since breakfast is so hard for me, protein shakes may become my "go to" breakfasts.
  13. I'm so excited for you guys!

    Abnormal Ekg

I don't personally know, I hope you get answers soon!
  15. Very thoughtful and well written! I totally agree...it is easy to only look at the exciting aspects of getting our new tool without slowing down to think about how we will cope with the negative aspects of it.

    Any Sleevers With Pcos?

My RE wants to start 6 months out also. My surgeon said the reason they recommend 1-2 years is to maximize weight loss. He said it wouldn't harm the baby. I am 36 and I think the RE is concerned about time/egg quantity and quality. I'm facing the same tough decision.
  17. Congrats! You'll be jumping through all of those "hoops" in no time! There are lots of supportive people on here, I think you'll enjoy it. I've become addicted to this site!
  18. My surgeon recommends two Flintones (or similar) chewable vitamins for post op.

    July 13Th Anyone?

Thanks! Good tip on requesting nausea meds...I have a very sensitive gag reflex. I had it in my mind that they put a tube down your throat, so drinking cough syrup sounds great! How are you feeling now? Was your pain level about what you expected?

    July 13Th Anyone?

Congrats on your surgery!!! I am a very low energy person too, so it is encouraging that there is hope! Please tell me about the swallow test...it scares me! I don't even know what they do

    Six Month Waiting Period

Would love to see pics of your cresteds! They are so cute to me : ) What kind of temperment do they have?

    Six Month Waiting Period

I did, but partly because I was warned that if I really lost too much I wouldn't qualify for the surgery. The other part was I kept thinking, "it won't be long before I can't have this anymore..." Now that I have a date and it feel like this is really happening, it is getting easier! It's more about a positive change for my health.

    Losing My Comfort....

You can do this! It really is all about being ready! This is my 6th year smoke free.
  24. Congrats! That's one of the things I look forward to also! I know that has to be a wonderful feeling...for both of you : )
