  1. I do cardio 6-7 times a week and lift weights 3 times a week. I have hit a plateau in my weight loss. I went for a third fill and I can eat more now than before and I am even more hungry. So I am trying to examine my workouts and see where I need to make a change to jump start the weight loss. I don't think I need to do more. I am already working out 2-3 hours a day 6-7 days a week. I do 1-1.5 hours on the arctrainer at 80-100 resistance (max 100). Is this doing more resistance training and possibly building muscle rather than burning fat. Should I knock the resistance back in order to jump start the weight loss again. My legs are really starting to get muscular now and are not really getting any smaller, so I am afraid I am building muscle where I don't need it. I have plenty of muscle in my legs. Any suggestions????
  2. Well I am back from my workout. I did 25 min on the treadmill and 45 min on the arctrainer and some weights. Question: I have been doing the arc trainer for an hour to an hour and a half on a very high resistance. Do you think my plateau could be that I am building muscle from the resistance instead of losing weight??? Should I decrease the resistance?
  3. I still chew gum,but I am very careful.
  4. onederland is when you break the 200 barrier and your weight starts with 100 and something
  5. I wish I could make my body get up in the morning and do some exercise. I know it would help with the plateau I am on, but I like to sleep. Anywhooo.... I am meeting my cousins at 7pm tonight to workout- cardio and weights today.
  6. When I cut calories I don't lose. But exercising above BMR doesn't seem to be helping either. I had my third fill (5.3cc in 10cc band) and I can eat more and I am more hungry than before. I am at a loss. I don't know what to do. The only thing I can think of is to go on South Beach phase 1 and try and jump start things again.
  7. So this thread has been pretty inactive over the past few months, but I was hoping to get it started again.......... I am at a point in the weight loss where I am plateauing and I was wondering if you guys thought that SB would help me get started again. I only have 30-35lbs left to go and I would really like to get to goal ASAP. I am going to start phase 1 and see what happens.
  8. I had my third fill early this week and I think I am even more hungry, staying full for less time and can eat as much if not more food. I have 5.3cc in a 10ccAP band. Any advice or comments welcomed.
  9. I have never had a lot of restriction and have been able to eat a large volume of food. But, one thing I do is spread the food out over the whole day eating every 3 hours. Also try adding an extra protien shake to up the calories if your stomach can't handle more solid food.
  10. Its been a while but I think I was taking in between 700-1100 calories depending on the type of mushies I was eating. Mashed potatoes all day can add up quickly.
  11. I saw the show. It was very interesting. It makes me think maybe I should be careful what I say and how I act regarding my weight loss. I don't want to offend anyone and lose my family and friends.
  12. I am in your same boat. I have lost 81lbs and now it is like pulling teeth to get an ounce to come off. I am still exercising and even changing up the workouts. I had a fill done on tuesday and have still not seen any results. I guess we just have to keep on doing what we are doing and eventually our bodies will give it up. Good luck with your struggles; I feel your pain.
  13. I haven't had any of the "you took the easy way out" experiences, but that is probably because I didn't tell anyone. I only told my parents who were completely supportive (since then my mom got banded) and a few very close friends and they are very supportive and proud of me. I am glad I didn't tell any other family or friends---its none of their business.
  14. wow! with that much in your band don't you already have restriction???
  15. I concur. Maybe you aren't eating enough. I just had a fill this week and for the past few days I have only been able to eat 900-1100 calories and I haven't seen any results on the scale even with vigorous exercise (burning up to 1500 calories a day exercising). I think I am going to have to up my calories. My body doesn't like when I dip below 1400-1500 (it thinks I am starving). The weight will come off. We all just need to have patience and keep doing what we are doing. (that's hard to say because I have NO patience.)
  16. Amazing weight loss till this point! Good luck on semi-solids, just take it slow and chew very well.
  17. So, my dad made a comment to me the other day....I know (I really do know) that he did not mean any disrespect (he wouldn't hurt me for the world)...but... my head twisted the words. Comment: So, I guess come spring time I will have to come to your apartment every night and sit there with my shot gun to fend on the guys. My brain heard: I guess you are not "dateable" till you lose more weight. He didn't mean it that way, it was meant to be a compliment, but my head twists things---That's my own body issues I suppose.
  18. thanks! This haircut I have is great because it looks great both straight and curly- I change depending on my mood.
  19. That is an amazing amount of weight to lose in 4 months!!! Congrats on your success!
  20. I got my hair highlighted with a new cut at 50lbs. I got my makeup professionally done at 75lbs. At 100lbs I am getting my teeth whitened. Buying new clothes is always a great reward. Buying a new piece of exercise equipment or clothing is great too.
  21. Good going girl! It feels great to pick something up off the rack and try it on only for it to fit like a glove. Pretty soon you will be in 14's even better.
  22. UPDATE!! I am feeling better. I did a 3 day liver detox and have lost 5lbs. I went to my doctor today and got a fill so this should help aid the weight loss. Also I got the results of my blood work and EVERYTHING was within NORMAL ranges. Feeling less frustrated and more proud of myself. Thanks for everyones kind words, compliments, and advice.

  24. I have held off from having fills for the past 4 months because I was able to lose 2lbs a week on my own with exercise and diet. Now the loss is slowing and halting so i am going in for a fill this afternoon. I am hoping this is what will get me going again. My doctor has been fine with it because I was still losing and thinks it is a smart idea.
