I am 7 weeks out from VSG surgery and I had a hernia repair during surgery that I did not know anything about either. No problems at all thus far. There are meds to take for reflux. RNY is too invasive IMO. Good luck to you.

I recently started to take Biotin 5000 mcg a day because my hair is thinning really bad. Has anyone here taken Biotin for hair' date=' skin or nails? Does it work?

I have heard that the biotin strengthens the hair follicles. I am 5 weeks pst op Monday and no hair lss r thinning ths ar.

I am a week and a half out of surgery' date=' and have been trying to take it easy. I haven't noticed any pain or soreness that is too bad; I haven't taken my pain medicine in a few days either. What I dis notice was a hard knot under one of my incisions that does not hurt when I pinch it. Is this normal scar tissue formation? Just wondering if I am not being careful enough. I have the same thing under my largest incision and I had my 10 day follow up appt today and my doctor said there are stitches under neither that hard spot where the stomach came out from. As long as it is not red, burning, pus, or hot, you are fine. Good luck to you!!

That's the way to think about it!!! Add you some beef and chicken broth in there today to...sugar free Popsicles are also great, stay away from the red color since you are so close to surgery!!! I am prod of your willpower. Those that ave gone enforce us ave been there done that so they can easily sway us. I know your previously sleeved girlfriend means well...

5 days post op and feeling pretty good!!! Had staples but they were removed before I was discharged...take your pain meds!!!

My doctor told me no shakes for week one post op diet...only Clear Liquids until I see him next Thursday. I was sleeved on Monday , July 9th!!

Okay' date=' so this dang on diet is KILLING ME. Yesterday was my first day. Of course I cheated with a salad. I'm on a clear liquid diet and I figured lettuce is Water so Wth!!! This diet is so restrictive. Because I'm a diabetic, I'm only drinking juices (cranberry, grape, & apple) that are diet ...I.e extremely low on sugar and I also made myself some sugar free jello! But I feel terrible. I had a headache yesterday and cravings out of this world for food!! And today I just woke up with a MASSIVE headache. My surgeon said this would happen but sheesh this is just too much. I'm miserable!!! And it's only been two stinkin days. How can I keep this up until surgery day (the 17th). Omg. This headache is terrible. I've never had a headache this bad. Why is this happening? Did anyone else have the same problems and how did you cop with it?

Hello Chrissy, I had the same problems and I suffer from Migraines so getting a headache outside of a Migraine was another issue I did not welcome. Keep at it nd I promise by the 5th day it gets better. If you can stay focused and buy and get to prep day 5, you wil be fine. I feel great nd I had lost 12 pound when I went to the dr. I get seemed tomorrw!!! God luck to yo!!!

I made a pitcher full of juice using a Protein shot adding a lot of Water and a sprinkling of crystal light, ate sugar free Jello, sf popsicles, and chicken broth, btw the best tasting chicken broth imo, is made from chicken base adding hot water to it, tastes so much better than plain broth....good luck everyone![/quote']
