Hey Kate!
I am doing wonderfully WELL! I am down 36 lbs as of today, and I have never throw up. Not to say I haven't been nauseus (sp) but thats mostly when I overeat....which I have learned to not do, but it still catches me off guard occasionally especially when something is really delicious...lol.
That preop diet is only 3 days but its no joke. Drink your Protein Shakes, follow the instructions , be a good girl. My liver was still large during surgery, even though I followed it to the letter. If you ever want to chat, let me know....

preetyfatchic-I too have been praying that I am not the only person that this surgery doesn't work for....lol. I would contact your nutritionist and step away from the scale for a few days.

Sad for you but happy that you aren't putting up with some really tiresome behavior!

Hows everybody doing??? I am 18 pounds down in 2 weeks since my preo-op diet. Couldn't be happier! Now if everyone in my house would just eat cold sandwiches for the next 6 weeks till I can go back to some type of regular food (so I can't SMELL THEIR FOOD!!) But they won't, selfish people...lol. Hope you all are doing great!

I am 6 days out and feeling really good. Some pain if I gulp Water or whatever I am drinking, but I also had my hialtal hernia repaired at the same time so I sort of expected it.
I had my sister here for a week helping me out and keeping me company. I think that had made the biggest difference. She was great about reminding me to walk etc.
So far I am down 14 pounds in 11 days..(including 3 days pre-op). I start my full liquids tomorrow....can't wait for some applesauce!
Glad to hear everyones story! Hope everyone just gets better and better!

Hello scaredoftheunknown and jiji-I am also having my sleeve done on Thursday. I've got enough stuff for about a week, then I figure I'll send the hubby out for some things... Wishing you both the absolute best on Thursday!

My surgery date is September 13th! Can't wait

Its seems that my coordinator "jumped the gun" and submitted my paperwork without the required letter of medical necessity from my primary care physician. Which got my claim denied. One measly piece of paper. Now its in national appeal which may take 30 days to get a response back.
I wouldn't be as bummed about this if she at least took some responsiblity for it. I mean, doesn't she do this EVERY DAY AT HER JOB?
My insurance is Cigna, Also I am due to start school on November 19th and I am freaking out about the surgery date coming too close to my first day of school.
This could have been sooooo easy. Anybody have any ideas on how to push my claim or how to handle the waiting game?
Thanks in advance...
Alisha

I can reach her, but she's VERY busy. I'd call Cigna and ask them directly if they have everything they need.
