  1. Wow, Our Drs are very different. My dr said strictly liquids for 7 days and on 8th day I can move to soft foods.
  2. Hi Everybody! I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Jodi and I was sleeved on 5/14/12 (in Houston). I'm feeling pretty good. I found this forum at 3am this morning, as I was hunting a way to ease my (what felt like) indigestion. I'm sure I have to work some small kinks out, but I'm actually feeling really great!! I made the mistake of getting on the scale when I got home yesterday. I was 10 lbs heavier, but I knew instantly not to worry, that it was just bloating from surgery and fluids. I'm so excited about becoming a whole new person. I have SO much support from my husband and kids. I'm a lucky lady to have this opportunity! Anyway, I hope to get to know you guys. I'm going to go browse around the forum.
  3. I feel even better today. I am finding it a bit difficult to drink my liquids. You don't realize how much air you swallow with every sip until you don't really have a stomach. I can't imagine how hard it's going to be once I'm able to eat soft foods next week. lol Any tips? I haven't been hungry one time and I'm completely shocked about that. One of the nurses pre-surgery told me she's had many patients call her and say they can't do it because they're so hungry. I do get concerned that I don't really let myself get full, but I'm never hungry. So I don't really know what's in store for me next week. Anybody else feel that? I told the PA that the other day and she told me that I'm way over thinking it and I don't even know what full is yet. As far as movement, I'm getting tons of walking in. I'm going to the park and walking a couple laps around a pond 2x a day. I don't know if it's too much, but the Dr said the best thing to do is walk as much as I can, and get my 60+ oz of fluids in per day.

    Too Thin...ha?!

I think my husband is just as excited about my surgery as I am. We've been married 20 years and are very strong. I hope your husbands get on board and give you the support you deserve!

    5/16 Todays The Big Day!

Good luck to you. I just had surgery Monday. I feel great. The only advice I can give you is the sooner you get up to walk the better. And walk as much as you can tolerate. Get that gas out of your body and keep your legs moving!!
  6. Michelle, I noticed your info, also. We really are sleeve sisters. My starting weight was 270 and I'm 5'8". Pretty close all the way around. I didn't have a single problem in the hospital. I was walking around 1-1/2 hrs after surgery. That gas I had floating around in my body didn't feel too great, but I've worked almost all of that out. Good luck to you!!
