  2. Been doing this process for a year now! Out of Massachusetts General Hospital (Boston) Weight Center. Was considering the band,bypass now this. My BMI is only 44.. Im nervous. I have a consultation with a surgeon in July. Any advice been battling weight my whole. I. 26.
  3. They wouldn't give the ok because they want to see the lifestyle changes! Emotionally being able to handle it is huge! And it's not easy going from what we normally eat not to practically nothing! Thats where the nutritionist comes in and the therapist. Its hard work!
  4. Well there is a huge history so thats why im concerned ... I don't and didn't drink alcohol anyway. It was prescription. But I guess these days you can have transferred addictions to anything! Just because you take the food away (substance) doesn't mean your problems are solved! it allll centers in the mind!!! Thanks for the feedback guys
  5. They say its a possibility. And patients with addiction are at higher risk of relapse. I personally I have been abstinent for 3 yrs! Thank you Jesus but of course im still at risk.. after the surgery your body absorption reacts differently to substances.. (prescriptions,Alcohol etc )
  6. Has any developed drug or alcohol problems prior to surgery? My doctor say its a big possibility for surgery patients?
  7. Did you have any complications with the bypass? How much did you lose? How long ago was it?
  8. Ughhhh. I dont know what to do!! People say the band doesn't work! Im scared to do the bypass. I don't want to have regrets or get really sick.. its irreversible .. what about the sleeve?

  10. For someone who's about 5'3" 5'4" and 250lbs not many health issue's.. do you think it would be better to get the band,bypass, or sleeve? I haven't gotten approval from my insurance yet. Im worried there gonna say I've lost to much weight in the past year on my own through the nutrition and therapy.

  13. No not yet within a few months hopefully. I got the go ahead from my therapist today! he sent out his emails .. ill see my doc in 2 weeks and ill knoe more

  18. Im new to all this. Been a year so far! Ive lost a good amount of weight pre surgery with my nutritionist for shrinking of the liver. I have been physiologically cleared. Im now waiting for my doctors appointment for my insurance clearance out of Massachusetts General Hospital. Here to ask questions and share my journey with you all! Trying to decided what procedure would be best. I don't have diabetes although I do have P.C.O.S. .. looking for expirence,strength and hope! God Bless
