  1. Hey GeGe...welcome to Bandster Hell as they say. I can't really offer too much since I'm not there, yet, but try to get in as much protein as you can. From what I understand, that will hold you/sustain you longer. Just make sure you stop eating when you get that full feeling. That way you know you're not hurting your band/pouch. I think what you're feeling is normal.
  2. Thank you! I know. It just surprised me a little that she said that. Yep. I'm shaking it off and moving on. Lalalalalalalalalalaalalalalala *that's me covering my ears so I can't hear anyone w/negativity*
  3. Okay, I'm a little pissed right now. I was just talking to a friend of mine who, thus far, has been supportive. She said she was talking to her girlfriend (who's studying to be a nurse) told her "There's a lot of complications w/that thing". Okay, (1) Do you think I haven't done my research about this and am unaware of the complications? What did you expect my response to be??? "Oh really? I didn't know that. Shucks, I didn't even think about complications. I didn't factor that into my decision." I have researched this damn procedure for the longest and actually told my surgeon I've watched the video so much that I could probably assist him in his next surgery. (2) My surgery is in 2 freakin days. I don't want to hear this mess right now. I don't even want to talk to her anymore about this. I'm so damn mad right now. Excuse my French. (3) I'm sick of people who are uneducated about this process putting in their stupid 2 cents! I'm so sick of it. This is why I have been hesitant to tell anyone about this. I don't want them to ruin my journey into LapBand and I refuse to let them. You ain't raining on my parade. I will just enjoy this next day and be excited about my new life. There are so many people here on LBT that have been super successful w/this and I am focused on that. No, I'm not burying my head in the sand to those that have had complications, but they're to be expected. I've made an informed decision and that's that. Sorry for the rant!
  4. Hi Auntie Phyll! How are you doing?
  5. Unfortunately, I doubt it. I'm more mad at the fact that she thinks I'm that stupid. I hate for people to treat my like I'm dumb. Not to brag, but I am a very intelligent girl...I'm in a freaking dual Master's program right now and I do have a little sense. To think that I would make a MAJOR life decision w/o factoring in everything is like a slap in the face. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! You know, I'm not gonna say anything to her tomorrow about it.

  7. Did you guys watch Big Medicine tonight??? Did you see the surgeons' daughter/sister has the LapBand and was having problems? She was vomiting and the ER where she was didn't know about the band and couldn't unfill her!?!?!?! What's up w/that? She had to fly home to have them unfill her a little. I'm gonna call my local hospitals to see if they're familiar w/the LapBand. The lack of awareness, knowledge, and skill scares me. Something so simple...wow.
  8. My support pretty much comes from here. My family and co-workers (that know) are supportive and excited for me. I love this site. I know that I'm at peace w/my decision thanks (in part) to the info from here. You get the good, the bad, and the ugly.
  9. Wow, Kathy!!! A bit scary I'm sure, for us, but seemingly not for your little one. Kids are so wonderful. They bounce back so easily! Sunny, I certainly try!!! It's tough when I don't have my calendar w/me...but Lynette helps keep me straight! Thank you! Marcy, what a cutie pie! Everyone on here has such beautiful children. I can't wait until it's my turn. Soon and very soon...hopefully. LOL! Dini, let me think about a question...hmmm... Are you guys watching Big Medicine on TLC??? Did you see the surgeons' daughter/sister has the LapBand and was having problems? She was vomiting and the ER where she was didn't know about the band and couldn't unfill her!?!?!?! What's up w/that? She had to fly home to have them unfill her a little. I'm gonna call my local hospitals to see if they're familiar w/the LapBand.
  10. I'm sure I will be just like you. Too anxious to go to sleep. I, too, will be staying overnight and then having a barium swallow the next morning to make sure all is well. Then, I guess if e'thing is okay, I'll get to go home (well to my parents). I live alone, so I just want to make sure my first night home, I'll be okay.
  11. Blooeyez, welcome! This is a wonderful group. We are so glad to have you. Feel free to jump in. I've attached our Lucky 7's calendar. You're on it, too. Lynette, sorry about the computer probs. It's so annoying, isn't it??? Hope you have a good night!!! SuzieLondon, where are you? How are you doing? Breadlady and TanzyCoffeeLady, where are you? Haven't heard from you in a long time!
  12. Tada. Gees. Seems like we haven't had one of these in forever, huh? Okay...I'll get this right, yet!!! Cincyn, KCorbin, Mango24, OnMyWay, Sheelagh,Tenille, BiggestLoser, Cate54, and ReneeMarie! Best wishes and check in w/us as soon as you're up to it! July 2007 Bandsters.doc
  13. Okay, so for tomorrow, it's: Cincyn, KCorbin, Mango24, OnMyWay, Sheelagh,Tenille, and BiggestLoser! We wish ya'll the best and we're praying for you.
  14. I'm sorry! I've just updated the calendar. I had you on my MIA list. Glad you've come back!
  15. Yes m'am!!! LOL! You will be fine. I'll be in your shoes tomorrow.
  16. Okay, who's on deck for tomorrow??? I have: Cincyn, KCorbin, Mango24, OnMyWay, Sheelagh, and Tenille Did I miss anyone??
  17. I understand. I don't like pudding, yogurt, jello ( I can tolerate it.), or cottage cheese. How about a meatless/noodle-less lasagna, or Stove Top stuffing, or an egg casserole (w/green peppers & onions, etc.). Not sure how to do the lasagna thing, but maybe someone can help us out???
  18. I'm sorry...we'll keep thinking of more stuff. I went and got my dietician packet. We keep saying how crazy it is from one doc/dietician to another. They all have different advice.
  19. Dini, Thank you sweetie! You were looking hot yourself in your pics. We knew you were the one on the left w/the dark hair! LOL! Lynette, I have no doubt that you will get there soon. You're still recovering and I think you have th right idea to not overdo it. That would be bad and possibly set you back. And we can't have that!
  20. Yes, m'am!!!!! I am so flippin antsy. I really can't sit still!!!
  21. I think so. I think I saw it on my list of mushies from the dietician...I'll have to get my list...but I don't see why not...tuna, and crab is okay and shredded chix breast. It's the same consistency, so I don't see why not. I'd just ask your doc/nutritionist/dietician. Hope this helps!
  22. I know!!! Can you taste it???? I can't even sit still. :whoo:
  23. Go Lynette! Turbo Jammin it away. You will work up to longer workouts in no time. You have done fantastic so far! :clap2:
  24. Hey Dini Bini! I'm doing well. Just super excited! 2 days away. Wow. AshRae, how about Lloyd's shredded chicken and/or pork BBQ? It's in the section w/all the lunchmeat stuff. It comes in a round container.
  25. Congrats!!!! I know you are super excited now! I'm so glad things worked out for you. That is so wonderful! P.S.--Yeah, I'm a little ticked about those 'program fees', too. I just had to shell out $500 to pay for that. I wasn't too happy. But what are ya gonna do?
