  1. [quote=IndioGirl55;530340... Sunny & Chim - My port site still hurts some 2 wks later... Yesterday I was sitting close to my desk and coughed - OMG the site of my port hit the desk and HURT... It is so hard to catch up on this board if you aren't here hourly IndioGirl, I hear you about the port site. I have my little blanket folded up in b/w me and my desk. I'm afraid I'll bump s'thing. I'm sure that is the incision that will take the longest to heal b/c the port was attached/stitched on the underside. I am freaking starving right now. I can't wait until my follow-up tomorrow. They're gonna move me to mushies. THANK YOU JESUS!!! I need to chew.
  2. OMG!!!! BREADLADY LIVES!!!!! We have been missing you and wondering about you. We remember the last time we heard from you, you were camping. Glad to hear you're doing well!!! I'm starving now! I want to chew something. The liquids...I am sooooo over them! Keep in touch w/us a much as you can.
  3. Gnite gang! It's time for me to head on home for the evening. Yeah, Sunny, 8 hrs is rough on the tummy. I can't wait to get home. My bed (and pain med) is calling my name!!!
  4. Welcome Brumbie! Congrats on your banding. This is an awesome group. We're glad you popped in. Make yourself comfy. Tell us where you're from and where you had your surgery. And don't be discouraged about the plateau. I'm sure we will all experience them on this journey. You just haven't found your sweet spot, yet. You'll get there!
  5. That soreness gets a little better w/each day. I still have some and still carry my little blanket to brace my stomach, esp. if I laugh, cough, or sneeze. It really helps. You're doing well.
  6. Hey everyone! Marcy, that's okay. I understand how it is, esp. when the computer goes on the fritz. I'm just glad you're doing really well. Hello Sunny, Jeannie, Kathybad and Wrangler! I'm still sitting here at work, watching the clock. I'm ready to go home. 11pm can't get here fast enough. Last night was a little rough when I got home. I took some pain meds b/c my abdomen was sore from sitting up for 8 hrs straight. I slept very well and feel good today. Walking for me has been great. I always feel better after I go for a little stroll. Nothing strenuous...just to keep myself moving. Yes, we still need to remember we're still pretty fresh from surgery, no matter how good we feel. Our bodies will be quick to remind us when we overdo it, you know???
  7. Yay!! Congrats Caolin! Welcome to the Loser's Bench. We're glad all went well w/you. Just rest, walk, and sip. We'll talk to ya later!
  8. Just banded on 7/25 and I would do it again. In a heartbeat. I'm doing really well so far and will be going to my one week post-op appt. I am so glad that I started this journey!

But there really is no research basis for the 25 grams limit at a time. So until I see some evidence based research, I truely will not believe it. So far I have not found any. If anyone finds this please post because I would like to see it I asked my dietician about this and she said that there has been a long-standing debate about this. So...I really didn't get a definitive answer from her. She said just aim to get my 50 grams throughout the day. So that's what I do.
  10. Well, I've been banded (7/25) and I'm doing really well. The next 'band' that I will be getting will be my BodyBugg. And I will be sure to let you know when I do eventually get it.
  11. Sunny mentioned maybe going!!! LOL!!! That would be fun!
  12. Lynette, those smileys are hilarious! October would be great, too!!! My birthday is 10/26...hmmmm...how bout it Dini??? I'm thinking of getting tatted. *singing - Tat, tat tat it up, tat tat tat it up* That's a hip-hop song. LOL! *singing, again* Welcome to Miami, Bienvenido Miami That's Will Smith's song. LOL!! Can you tell I'm bored, too???
  13. Nope. No carbonated drinks at all. Some people will let the soda go flat, then drink it...but the carbonation is bad for your pouch. And actually quite painful b/c the carbonation has no where to really go. I won't even attempt it. I was a Pepsi lover, but I had to say goodbye. But it will be worth it!
  14. Hey Sunny! I hear you about the sitting up for extended periods of time. I'm hear at work and I'm about to lean my chair back a bit. I told Dini I may go to Miami w/her in November. I told her to let me know the details and I'll see. I certainly wouldn't mind!
  15. I'm here at work now. I work from 3pm - 11pm. I'm doing okay. I have a desk job, so no lifting, etc. And everyone here (my immediate coworkers - if that makes sense) knows about my surgery and are super supportive! It is so great. They are like, "You've lost wt already. We can tell." LOL. That works for me. I can't really tell, yet, but I'm sure I will soon and very soon. That spaghetti sounds soooo good!
  16. Hey Dini! Doing great. This is my first day back at work. I'm doing fine. I live in Maryland (MD). Miami, FL is about a 15 hr drive away. On an airplane, I could be there in a couple of hours. Maybe I should come down there w/you!
  17. Cate, glad to hear your post-op visit went well! Keep on taking care of yourself and your healing will continue to speed along. Frustrated, congrats on your wt loss!!! We're all on our way to becoming Hottie Jalotties!!!! Sunny, yes, I've been sleeping more, too. I've been taking naps and I'm not a nap taker at all. I'm sure it's just our bodies saying, 'Hey, I'm working here on repairing/recovering.' I say we just give in to it and sleep and get as much rest as we need. It can only speed our recovery.
  18. Yay!!! That is too cool!
  19. NewCC = Good for you! I'm glad you marched yourself in that office and took control of the situation. You should be proud of yourself for that. As for the doc, what an a$$hole. He should be responsive regardless of self-pay/insurance. You're his patient. Period. I'm glad you got the antibiotics. You should be good to go now! Take care of yourself. I'm sure the med will work and you'll be better in no time. Chris = Yay! The time has come! I'm glad that your family is so supportive. That makes a big difference! And I had to laugh about the Aunt Flo comments. See, I made a statement before about how our cycles are now linked...and now your wife's Aunt Flo is here. I told you guys...*Twilight Zone music playing* Jackie = Congrats on the wt loss!!! That is just the beginning of many more pounds to be shed. WOOHOO!!! Gotta love it. OnMyWay = Welcome to Twoterville! Byebye to the 300's. BlueEyedBaby = Hello. We love it when you're talkative. Feel free. Let it all out! Dini = Hey sweetie!!! Hello everyone else!!!
  20. Well, we want to wish well our friends who are going today: Stonersmom, Only4Me, and BMS0502 Check in w/us as soon as you can! On deck for tomorrow, I have: Trish2U, Caolin, ChunkyBuddy, LuciaMaria, TJFandri, and Chris45 Let us know what your thoughts and feelings are!
  21. Hey CC! I'm sorry you're having that pain. I have some soreness around my port incision, but no redness or heat. I would definitely go see my doc about that. It does sound like it may be infected. If so, you wanna catch it now and get it treated before it gets bad. Don't stress about it...just get in to your doc and they will take good care of you!
  22. Well Good People, I'm gonna turn in for the night. I have to go back to work tomorrow. Booooooo...but I've gotta do it. I hope everyone has a wonderful night's sleep and a great morning! Gnite! :notagree
  23. Yes! The hunger is no fun. It has just started for me. It's been weird b/c I haven't been hungry, but tonight, boy it kicked in. I hear you about the Cheetos. I was in Target tonight and I was like, 'Hmmm...if I got the puffy kind, I could let them kinda melt and get mushy...' Then I came back to reality and continued on. Man. Oh the food demons are out. But you know what??? They aren't gonna win. No way. No how. Oh it's on.
  24. Welcome back! We've missed you. Sounds like you had a wonderful time. I'm jealous! I can't wait until I'm past these liquid/mushy phases. I know they're for healing purposes, but man. I will be doing the same as you, just making healthy, well-balanced choices. I know that's how I was meant to live, so that's what I'm striving for.
  25. I know, it's so weird. I was fine and then bam! The hunger hit. I was like, 'Whoa. Where is this coming from'??? Soooo, I gave in and ate a few spoonfuls. :nervous I hope this isn't the beginning of Bandster Hell!!! AAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!:omg:
