  1. @jayg , lol!!! That is so funny because my hubby was eating jack in the box!!! I never wanted a taco so bad in my life! I was JUST telling my sister that I don't care what I have I just want something solid. A salad w chicken would be good. I am so glad you all understand. Yay to all of us though!! We all seem to be down some. It's a start. My biggest fear is that the sleeve is not going to work for me and I will only lose 20 pounds. All that for 20 pounds??? I know that's negative but I know all eyes are on me expecting me to shrink before their eyes. Just a mental "trip out" I'm having!
  2. Wow!!! That is a lot!!! I am down 14 pounds. I am still on a liquid diet of protein shakes and clear liquids. I want to eat soooo bad. Everyone around me is enjoying food and it is pretty hard. If I drink too fast it will hurt pretty bad like I am gulping air.
  3. Omg today was my first time too! I am only about 2 weeks out and dr said I could try purée soup. Well I literally took 3 bites and I was sooo sick. I had to puke it all up. How am I going to get thru thanksgiving??
  4. I have a desk job and I was sleeved on September 24th. I had surgery on Monday and went back to work the following Tuesday. I felt good only slightly sore.(and I am a baby) At first I thought there was no way I could do it but after 5 days I felt pretty good. Not 100% but good. No way could I have done a physical job though. Hope this helps.
  5. I totally hear you!! I was sleeved the same day as you. It does suck. I had to mentally prepare it would suck. I am still on full liquids, no foods. I can not get all my water in and I am barely doing my 3 shakes. I have been drinking sooo much broth. Instead of drinking water/ broth etc. try spoon feeding yourself. I know it goes slow but at least it will not get stuck in there. Thats how I felt when I took a big drink. It was like it was stuck and I swallowed air. I will be praying things get better. Try and stay positive.
  6. I wasn't able to drink all my protein until today, day 7. You are pretty swollen at this point. I went and got my drains out today and my dr told me she doesn't care if I drink or eat anything at all as long as I get my Protein shakes in. Then if I am still hungry or thirsty, then I can have broth and Water etc. I know all Dr.'s are different though!
  7. I know what u mean, it was harder than I thought it was going to be too.!!
  8. Thanks everyone!! Today is day 6 feeling WAY better. I had a hiatal hernia repair and I was having problems drinking. Felt like I was pulling in pure air. Can only get 1 protein shake in a day still. I'm trying though. I get my drain out Tomorrw morning, I can't wait. I have to take lovenox blood thinning shots in the fat of my arms. They hurt bad! Can not wait till that's over. I can not wait to be on the upside of things. Hoping my energy will return soon so I can finish my Fall decorating!
  9. Yes I have to excuse myself too. It's funny I have been dreaming of food too. I had a dream I was baking a big batch of chocolate chip cookies and I could not get to the cookie dough to taste it. Pretty sad!!!
  10. I got sleeved 9/24. It has been very hard. I have had trouble with everything I eat so when I watch my family grub on something yummy, Ido get a little bummed. I know it's early yet so I will have to wait to see results. I think when I do, that is when it will be worth it. I have to remind myself that none said this was easy!!! Good luck to u!
  11. Hello! Today is day 4 post op. I have to say today has been a way better day than yesterday. I got a shower, yippee!my goal right now is getting my fluids in. Been having a tough time because I hate protein shakes so my protein is lacking. I get my drain out on Monday so hoping I'll feel better by then because I am back to work on Tuesday.i am sooo tired and hoping I snap out of it soon!
  12. Very cool I love her! She is so funny! Will check her out!
  13. Honestly I don't know! I wondered the same thing. I always have like gas pains and bubbles and burps and I don't know if I am full or not . I have been very uncomfortable too. I just try to avoid overfilling myself. I do 2 medicine cups within 20 minutes, I wait and do it again in like 30 minutes. That's all I can do!
  14. iPhone and loratab do not mix. Sorry for typos
  15. I personally could not Tolerate water at all. I could I ly do y y sips of broth. Do u have an anti nausea medicine? It didn't really help meuch but it may help u. Day four is better than day three so hang in there!!
  16. Hi there! I am 4 days post op and I totally know what you mean. I have been in so much pain. Just today (day 4) it was a LITTLE easier. I can not do the protein shakes at all it makes me Ill. I can do small medicine cup sized sips only of chicken broth. I know what the goal is to have 60 g of protein but i can only do what i can do. I figured that is better than nothing at all. Also try th popsicle. That worked good for me too. Easy to get down and it felt good . Water was a no go for me at all. It just nauseated me. U should b able to tolerate a little more every day. SMALL sips is the key. Almost like ur swallowing saliva.
  17. Leaving for the hospital in 30 minutes!!! I am so thirsty and the surgery is not till 2:30. If there are any Believers out there, please pray for me. I am starting to think I may run out of the O.R. I will post as soon as I can to let future sleevers what to expect!
  18. Hi! My surgery is Monday and I am totally feeling u! My youngest is 2 on Oct 11th and I feel like I can chicken out any minute. I am excited but I am really scared. I don't care about the pain part, i just want to know I will come out ok, ya know?? Praying for a good experience.
  19. Hi!! Mine is the 24th also! It is somewhat surreal to me that it's here. I am nervous and worried I will not have everything I need also. I have an 11 year old and a 2 year old and I don't know how this is going to work! Prayers your way!!
  20. HI there! My surgery is Monday. I too have the same problem as you. I only have Monday thru Monday off. I have a desk job as well and I am PRAYING it will be enough. Good Luck!
  21. Ha ha ha! Isnt is so funny that I can not lose weight so I opted for surgery. But I have to lose weight first, lol. 18 Pounds is AWESOME! I will hopefully be behind you soon. I am going to GNC to get some ZeroCarb Isopure tonight. I am gonna just put myself on the diet.
  22. They told me to lose 5 pounds and I swear I CANT !! I think I would be better off to do the full liquid diet. You are doing great PP on your weight loss thus far.
  23. I am not on a liquid diet either. I was just told to lose 5+ pounds. They said IF I could not do it on my own, then and only then would I be required to drink shakes only 1 week preop. I guess every DR is different.
