@ Green- If I drink I stick with Vodka and Diet 7up. I know there is carbonation but there are zero carbs. I have been in the same situation. I either drink or eat my dinner, lol. @Jenn- I am going to Vegas this weekend. Of course there are a ton of guy friends going too and I have to wear a bathing suit. I too bought a tankini but also got a really cute saroung (sp) and it hides the inner thigh yuck. I also have been shopping like a mad women. I am so happy to be able to fit in normal clothes. @NGMA- You look awesome and it is good to "see" you!

LADIES!!! Hello! Green, thank you for the shout out! I have been going thru the divorce, sold my house and moved all this last few weeks. I have been swamped and I know I have been MIA! Well, I am 4 pounds till goal and have my tummy tuck and breast augmentation scheduled for July 2nd!! So excited.Dr said that after the tummy tuck I will probably be 10-15 pounds lighter even. This is the best thing that I have ever done and do not regret a single second of it. I am a little flabby on my inner thighs and arms but all in all I dont care about it that much. I can eat a little more- Sometimes. Other times I still have tons of restriction. Its weird. I still puke every so often but I am used to it and am learning my limit. You all look amazing!!! Have you posted before and afters??

Hello Judy, my name is Krista and I too am a scale-o-holic! LOL Artsong- I think you look great BTW! I have decided to be excited on how I feel not how I look. After all, it has only been 6 months!! Allthough the scale will move slower, it will move...I hope. Maybe it is metabolic? I know I am on metformin as I mentioned in the past for PCOS. I swear more of us have it than we think.

Green- Do you have a cute Georgian accent?? I will have to read your posts that way. I too weigh in naked every morning before i get into the shower. I am so obsessed with the scale. The weird thing is I have been working out for the last month and the first couple of weeks I dropped weight but now I am not budging. I am hoping that the scale moves soon.

I know once I cut the carbs out and stuck w mainly protein I started dropping. Carbs and me do not do well. Now, I do have fruit and certain veggies and beans. I just stay away from the bread, chips, crackers, etc. And strenght training is absolutley necessary!

Artsong- I was really stuck at the same weight for a few weeks and I was fed up. I work out 4 days a week jogging/walking (omg, yes I can jog again yippee) I do it for 30 minutes and then I do tons of crunches. I feel sooo much better too. I have stuck with the soft diet that we had in the beginning, yogurts, string cheese, salad, chicken breast, egg etc. I have VERY little carbs and it is working. Hopefully I dont stall again any time soon. I try and get all my water in but that is very hard. BEGINNING the work out routine is the hardest. Once you do it a couple of days you will be more motivated. NGMA- Glad you are feeling better. Green- Thank you, I feel and always have felt that about you too!!

Jordan- Have you ever wondered if they made your sleeve too big? Is that even a possibility? I know that even now I can only eat maybe 1/4 of what I used to eat otherwise I throw up. Unless I eat chips and cookies and believe me those go down just fine. NGMA- I definitely feel it within myself to get up and do it! 45 minutes on the bike is awesome! That is exactly what I need to do!

NGMA- I am at the point I want to start working out as well. I walked a little and did some crunches yesterday and boy am I out of shape. I could barely do 20 crunches in a row without almost dying. But I am really motivated now especially now that the weight is falling off.

Hey Ladies- This is some great info I got from my nutritionist! Thought I would share. Food choices: Making good food choices is a challenge in a world filled with food that is not good. After weight loss surgery good food choices include foods that are mechanically filling (lean, solid protein) and foods that are filling with fewer calories – fruits, vegetables, whole grains, low fat dairy. Bad food choices are foods that are not mechanically filling (high calorie liquid/mushy, crunchy) and foods that are very calorie dense – crackers, chips, cookies, cheese, nuts, peanut butter, bacon, trail mix, granola, etc. Eating these things can very easily add hundreds of calories per day to your diet. One single serving size bag of chips per day for a year equals 30 pounds worth of calories. An equal amount of carrots for a year is only about 2 pounds worth of calories. For more on food choices after bariatric surgery, see my recent blog post. Food journaling: Many studies show that people who track their food intake lose more weight. Why? Education and accountability. The new online food journals are great because you can enter the foods you eat on your phone quickly and easily over the course of your day, and you can see the nutritional content of your diet – calories, fat, protein, sugar, etc. Bad choices quickly become very obvious. If you haven’t ever used one of these online food journals, give it a try. I would recommend My Fitness Pal. Behavior Modification: To change behaviors we discussed: 1) Control home environment Eliminate problem foods from house, etc 2) Control work environment Bring lunch, chew gum/drink water to prevent snacking, etc 3) Control meal time environment Sit at table, serve portion away from table to make getting second portion more difficult 4) Daily food management Small plates/utensils, etc 5) Shopping Don’t shop when hungry, only buy what is on list, etc 6) Preparation Chew gum when preparing to discourage snacking, etc 7) Eating Put utensil down between bites, etc “I can eat too much” This is a common complaint. We discussed that the purpose of surgery is not to make it so you can’t eat too much. The purpose of surgery is to make it so you can eat less but still feel satisfied.

LOL, Gypsy! There are many many people who claim to be who they are not. It is a shame really. Like the Bible says, "you will know them by their fruits"..... And I am and expert fruit inspector, ha ha ha.

Gypsy- I have to agree with Green. I used to go to a pentacostal church when I first became a Christian and they were sooo strict. We could not dance, drink, listen to any type of secular music etc. Some people forget that we have freedom in Christ to do these things and we are not going to go to hell for taking a salsa dancing class or having a drink here and there!!. And, she probably saw that you were looking all hot -like and was seething with the thought of you shaking your groove thing "in a bar" in front of her son. As a Christian, if someone offends you, you go to that person (in love) and get down to the bottom of things. Remember Romans 12:18- If possible so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men. Yes the EASY thing to do is say "screw her" but If you are going to have to interact with her on a regular basis, I personally would try to have a sit down. THIS IS JUST MY OPINION, no one better give me any crap, LOL!!!
