I wasn't on the sight 6 months ago. SCARY! I know things happen, but like all of us presleevers, I pray it doesn't happen to me! Mainly because I'm self pay. Any problems, my insurance won't cover it! Even SCARIER!

I'm hoping it's the cause of these horrible itchy rashes too! Maybe I'm asking too much...

So we went grocery shopping today. I don't start my liquid diet until august 1st but I'm going to start low carb and gluten free now. I have had a bad skin allergy all of my life. Along with diarrhea and ibs. After ruling out several things over the years, not much left to cause it, so I'm gonna give gluten free a try! Another positive about getting the surgery! Times a ticken' August sleevers!!!

Old news, I know. I got around to asking hubs what was said by his parents about me having surgery. His mom said, "just because she's having surgery doesn't mean she won't gain all her weight back.". That bi+€h! I'm glad I have emotionally rid myself of all my inlaws. I haven't seen them since Christmas. And hope I don't see them til this Christmas. By then I'll be 5 months post ope, and hopefully showing SOME improvement!

Please keep us posted! I agree with the others...if you would not have pursuing this surgery, you wouldn't have hade an endoscopy done, and this awfulness found! This is why insurances (all of them) should cover bariatric procedures! I'm going to Mexico because mine doesn't cover it, and I know things like that won't be checked. I have to do 2 week liquid. BMI almost45. Grrr! I'm starting it August 1st.

Are any of y'all planning or already go to the wls support group at west Jeff? I plan on going in July. I want to get one on before surgery in August. Would be meet to have some VST people there!

I just ordered mine from laurenshope.com. It has my name, ice phone #, hypothyroid/VSG wls, no NG tube/NSAIDs on it. I think they had very pretty ones, as well as everyday ones. And I like how you can order just the bracelet so you can change it up.

Ok, so my weird, ready for this and packed, self has ordered a medic alert bracelet from Lauren's hope . com to wear after. It says my name, my ice phone number, hypothyroid/ VSG wls, no NG tube/NSAIDs. That site has pretty ones. I figured with the NG tube it's a good reason to have. But also, if something happens and they don't know I don't have a thyroid (I don't have a removal scar), not having that medicine, I would go into a coma and die...so I'll bring it with me and wear it after. Always an excuse for jewelry, right?

So I wanted to post something positive! I never make New Years resolutions, but this year I did. What was it? To LOVE MYSELF! Whether I lose weight or stay as I am, I knew I just needed to love ME! Anyway, there's a song I heard y'all need to hear. It's perfect! To those who watch Biggest Loser...remember Vinny from year before last? Wore overalls and had a little country group called TRAILER CHOIR? Well, he was on the radio station I listen to, and they played one of his songs. It's called, "LOVE ME FIRST". It's all the feelings a lot of us have, set to music. I have made it my INSPIRATION!

I'm going to Tijuana, Mexico to Dr. Kelly on August 23rd. I think if you search your doctors and their previous patients, everything will be great! All his patients on here speak highly, and I liked him when I spoke with him. I will be honest...the only thing that does concern me is aftercare. I wish I could do USA just for that reason. Other than that, I can't wait for my date!!

Hi all. My name's Melissa. I'm 41. Been married for 20 years. Have two sons, 18 and 16, as well as a 11 year old pug dog daughter! (lol). I like to read, travel, go to amusement and Water parks, donate blood, bake, bike ride, love doing practically anything. I do a lot of things alone. My previous weight growing up was always normal. I am 5'4", and as a teenager weighed about 115 and looked anorexic because I have large bones. I was built to be tall, but I'm not!! Anyway, first pregnancy was uneventful, and was only 10 lbs from prepregnancy weight when I got pregnant with son #2. Though taking care of a 2 yr old and walking daily kept me busy, I gained about 65 lbs with 2nd! Only got down to 165ish before getting a toxic goiter and hyperthyroid. I'm weird and react different than most people. I gained weight! Goiter and thyroid removed with radioactive iodine. Now I'm lifetime hypothyroid. Sooo hard to lose now! I'm at my heaviest right now...just under 265. I have zero self esteem. No support from husband. Kids are great, but typical teenagers! Glad I have my pug Molly. She's the only one that loves me unconditionally. Anyway, I am going to Mexico for surgery toward the end of August. I will be going alone. My husband doesn't support this physically, emotionally, verbally or financially. I barely have enough money to do this. Only been at my job 6 years, and cleaned out my 401k to pay for the surgery. That's my story, and I am getting anxious (in a really good way) to see where my new life will take me. I may be married, but may not be by next year. I can't take his lack of support and selfishness much longer...just sayin. Once I get some of ME back, I'm hoping to have the umph to do what I gotta do for ME! Tired of existing for people who do not appreciate me and continue to suck the life out of me! Oops, I vented (again)

I did the grapevine when I got lost, or just marched in place until I figured it out again. Key is to keep moving. That being said, I am not in a gym right now and haven't been in awhile. .

The only unjury I've tried do far the the chicken soup/broth. And I think it's really good!!
