  1. Congrats!!! I am two weeks out too although I did have nausea for a day or two after surgery. Keep it up!
  2. I thought I read that right...that is the first real thing that stuck out to me in her post... It seems that all doctors agree on at least that ONE thing.... dont drink anything for 30 minutes after you eat.... I hope that you go back to following the guidelines, no matter how hard they seem... but I am with the others...our doctors set guidelines for a reason and it seems since you have something extra going on (hernia repair) you may want to stay on track even more feel better
  3. I have kaiser and they denied me twice.... At least you got the approval ! Congrats
  4. Congrats!!! I'm five lbs from that onederland!!!
  5. I start that stage tomorrow. Going to boil me a sweet potato and throw that sucker in the blender!! I have been thinking of that all day! pudding, applesauce, fat free yogurt with no fruit at the bottom! They even say baby food but I'm not going that far lol
  6. I used Dr Garcia as well and have nothing but good things to say about him. I am six days post op and things are getting better each day!!! Down 11 lbs. Like the others said the decision has to be yours and yours alone... Very personal. I have a blog, check out my signature for the link
  7. I too was a coffee addict. I am only six days post op and I still love the smell of coffee I haven't had the urge yet to drink any. I hope that you are able to get over the urge or at least go with decaf
  8. I am one week out....still on clears and was wondernig the same thing!!!
  9. Feeling better and better each day....although this gas pain is nothing to contend with..... when you think you can't walk anymore...get up and walk some more.... it does help... although the pillows and this bed at the hotel make it hard to get out of.... i just want to sleep right now
  10. I am here now. It would be best to get a calling card because they charge here at the hotel for making calls. When you are at the hospital, they allow you to make international calls as much as you want...free of charge!!!
  11. Congrats on your approval!! I know that you are super excited!!!
  12. Its not funny but I had to laugh because this is what happened to me...along with the fact that my bra stopped fitting me correctly....but I refuse to buy anymore right now
  13. Man o man has it been a rough first day and night. Lets see where do I start. Monday night seem to go by so slow. Of course we woke up at 4 in the morning thinking it was later than it was (we are on a three hour time difference). But when it was time, we all gathered in the lobby and made our to the hospital. The drive didnt seem like it took that long but that could have been because we were all talking alot. The hospital is small but very clean. I love the smell of the cleaning solution they use. We were taken to the admissions and quickly wisked away to have our labs done. After we were done, we came back upstairs and I started filling out my paperwork and soon after I finished, I had my ekg. I had requested to go first in order of surgery, but was told they go by the type of cases. And since my case was one of the easiest ones, I would probably go second or third. I dont know how it ended up this way, but I went first. Before the surgery, tons of nurses and doctors came in to speak with me abuot the procedure, what to expect, and tons of other information. After about two hours, they came in and said they would be wheeling me back in 20 minutes. After I got in the back, he gave me some sleepy medicine and that is all I remember. I dont even remember laying in the recovery room or my mother talking to me while I was in there. I do remember being asked to slide from one bed to another. I was sleepy so I went right back to sleep after the transfer. As time went by, I started to get sick so I got up and walked. The walking helped witht he gas pain but not the dry heaving...now that hurt.. I did that pretty much all night, every hour on the hour. Finally the nurses gave me something to help with that. I am stil have gas pain and feel like I may have the urge to throw up again, but it hasnt happened yet. I feel much better right now. No pain from my incisions at all. I do feel woozy and extremely weak at times but I was told to expect that. Let me just say that all the doctors and nurses here are wonderful. There is a bit of a language barrier with some of the nurses, but nothing that couldnt be managed since I do know a little bit of spanish.... Today I have to have my first leak test...and I am hoping I can manage to get the yucky stuff down.... will update you again when I can
  14. I so agree and I love your post!!! It made me laugh. thanks
  15. that sounds like the guidelines of Kaiser through feds... it sucks but I didnt get approved because it was not two years and I didnt have 2 comorbidities... issurances are evil
  16. I am here now!! Arrived yesterday, surgery today!! You will do great!!!
  17. I cant wait to really not feel fat when people say that "you're not that big". To be able to shop in stores that have something that I would really want to wear and not be forced to wear because my options are slim to none. To be able to sit in a chair or rollercoaster sit and not worry about it digging into my thighs....or worry about if the seatbelt is going to make it all the way across me... And just recently (since I just got off a flight), to not worry about someone sitting on a sit beside me on a flight and have them sitting on my hips..
  18. Good luck and we look forwad to your updates!
  19. I am with Lissa, I will take your loss skin issues anyday...
  20. I am here in Mexico now!!! I feel really safe here!!! Before I selected my doctor, I researched, researched and researched some more!!! It's definitely a personal decision that you have to make!
  21. thats body by vi. I have some of that as well!!! lol
