I had my surgery the day before you....3/29. My starting weight was 330, now I am at 297. I was on full liquids 5 days pre-op, full liquids 2 weeks post-op and now I am on soft foods until week 4. No complications. I walk about 2 miles a day and just started doing some toning weight lifting for the arms. (only 5 pounds each)

I was told no bread unless it is toasted...so I think waffles would fall under the toasted category.

I had my 2nd follow up doctors visit today and I am down 30 lbs since I started my 5 day preop diet. Just wanted to share my good news. :~)

I am 3 weeks post op, I did not have stitches. My doc used the glue and tape and mine have healed beautifully.

Post op I just used the cup that the hospital gives u. Its a large cup with the lid that even shows ounces on it. Im 3 weeks out now and just drink regular bottled Water. I was scared that I may get to much air from the sports top.

Wow! How far postop are u? Im sure everyone is different but I am 19 days postop and had the same thing yesterday, I could only eat a couple if bites of them. I wish I could have ate more because they were yummy.

I had extreme acid reflux before my sleeve was done. I took nexium and that worked well. After surgery I was put on prevacid that dissolves on the tounge. My reflux has not been bad since surgery. Maybe u should get a second opinion. Good luck tho.

I had a terrible time emotionally the first week or so. I am 2 1/2 weeks out now and feel much better. It gets better I promise. Just hang in there.

My 2 children were the reason I had the surgery. They are 10 & 11 and if I hadnt had the surgery I would have surely cut my life short. U know whats right for u, dont listen to the skeptics. Im not saying u should have the surgery or u shouldnt, just follow ur heart. If u are a believer in God then pray about it. This surgery does save lives tho. Good luck

I was sleeved on March 29th and I have 2 children, ages 10 & 11. I could not have handled it without the help of my parents. I have had 2 c_ sections and this surgery was totally different than that. Its wasnt the pain from surgery that was bad, it was the discomfort from gas. I could not take my children to school for a week. I just didnt feel good. Everyone is different tho and handles surgery different. I am 17 days postop now and feel great. My opinion is to wait until school is out unless u have someone to help u with the kids. Just my opinion. Good luck.

I have been sleeved and I walk right after I eat. I feel like it helps me digest my food better. It may just be in my head but thats what I like to do . Good luck

I am 2 weeks post op today and I felt the same as u are feeling. I had everything ready and felt prepared but I was terrified of the surgery. Needless to say, everything went well and my recovery is going great. The one thing I wasnt prepared for is the mental part of it all. I wa severely depressed for a few days after surgery and even felt some regret. My food addiction hit me hard. im much bettet now, just wish I was better prepared mentally and emotionally.

I am 12 days post op and I have lost 27 pounds since my preop diet

I had my VSG on March 29th and I had terrible gas pains. The very best thing for gas is WALK, WALK, WALK. I cannot stress that enough. Gasx strips work also but not as well as walking. Good luck

I am 9 days post op and I felt so depressed the first week. It was horrible. I even regretted having the surgery. I also have a history of depression, so I was worried too. But I must admit that I am feeling much better now. It got better each day and is still getting better. My main issue was that I just missed food and felt so hungry. I have a terrible food addiction so I have had to really face that. Not all people go through this so you may not either.

My surgeon doubled me up. This is just to be extra safe as far as leaks go. Lots of surgeons do it. Youll be fine. Good luck

I am 9 days post op and my doc has me on privacid that dissolves on my toungue. I have been on it since day 2 post op because of acid reflux..it helps so much with the pain from the gas....also gas x works great.
