  1. My dad was diabetic and was taking metfomine and glyburide. He had the sleeve 7 months ago and no longer takes the glyburide but does still take the other. His levels are under control mow tho. As far as the pain after surgery, its not too bad. I did throw up and gag alot in the hospital after surgery but it stopped after a couple of days. things are great now at 4 months out. Good luck

  2. I quit 1 month before my surgery and that was 5 months ago. I smoked for 21 years. I had to just quit cold turkey. Im an addiction counselor so I used some helpful coping tools that really helped me. I did alot of praying as well. Bottom line is that you have to really want to stop and make a consious decision to stop. Good luck.

  3. I will be 4 months out on July 29th. I am down 84lbs and still losing steady. My starting weight was 330 and Im at 246. I feel great! My life has improved so much! My confidence level has gone up and I have so much more energy. If anyone is considering having this surgery my opinion is "GO FOR IT". I have had no complications and I have not stalled. (yet, Im sure it's coming) I had a hard time in the beginning up until a month or so out because I missed my food, but that has all changed now. I am changing mentally as well as physically. Something that I have realized that is kinda sad is that people treat me differently. When I am out in public(shopping or whatever), people talk to me more and are just way nicer. I even have men flirting with me...(which hasnt happened in years). Although this makes me feel good, its kinda sad that I am treated better because of my weight. I guess that's just how our society is! I have gone from a size 26/28 to 16/18. The only problem I have is that I am growing out of all my clothes. Well, I just wanted to update everyone on my journey and encourage us all to just keep going! God bless you all and good luck!!

  4. I went through these same feelings and I promise you that it does get better. Give it another week or so and you will see. My surgeon told me that he wishes he could give a magic sleeping pill for those first couple of weeks because of the different emotions we have to deal with. Its really ruff for some of us. Im 3+ months out and 80 lbs down and I feel amazing. This surgery works and will work for you. Keep up the good work and prepare to feel great. It will happen soon.
