1St Consult - Dr.'s Requirements For Self Pay - Wth?
cassieh replied to txdee's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was a self pay and was only required to have blood work, ekg, xray and see the NUT. -
I smoked for 20 years and had to stop before surgery. I know how hard it is but you really must stop. It is so worth it. You can do it....trust me, if I did it anyone can.

My dad was sleeved 3 months before me (12/11) and he wanted me to ask a question here for him...we saw on Dr Oz that portabello mushrooms are extremly good for you, so he has been eating them alot. Has anyone else heard that they are good for you? If so, how are they good for you?

1 More Week..... And I Am Freaking Out!
cassieh replied to Shilo30's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi everyone, your feelings are very normal. I was sleeved on 3/29 and I was terrified. I had so many doubts, and you are exactly right...you do have the devil on one shoulder and an angel on the other. I'm not trying to preach but the devil will do anything to get in the way of something good in your life. Don't believe his lies. Complications are rare. This surgery is a life saver. It's really not that bad. The pain is managable. Try to think positive. Just know that what your feeling is completely normal. Good luck and keep us posted. -

Not Sure If I Should Worry
cassieh replied to cassieh's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks everyone. I feel much better now. I really think I was dehydrated or I over did it. I was able to keep the sf popcicles down and I started feeling better. -
O, so I went camping all weekend in our RV. I did lots of walking, swimming and spending time outside in the heat. I felt fine until today, I have been so sick to my stomach and cant eat anything. Im also having a hard time drinking water because it makes me sick to my stomach. I am almost 6 wks post op and have had no complications at all. Well, when I got home alittle bit ago I took some phenegran for nausea. 30 minutes later I was gagging and throwing up slim with just a small trace amount of blood. Very small amount of streaks of blood. Anyone else have this happen? Did I over do it? Am I dehydrated? Should I worry?
-
Good for you. Congratulations
-
I was sleeved 3/29 and had no complications with anesthesia. Matter of fact, they gave me something in my iv before they took me to the operating room and I was out of it.

Ok, so ive lost 43 lbs. I was sleeved on 3/29....5 wks yesterday. Ive been lucky and havent hit a stall (yet). I walk 2 miles everyday.....even tho the scale is going down, I dont notice a difference when I look in the mirror. Maybe its because I have more to lose than some. I started at 330 and now at 287. Im probably just getting impatient. But shouldnt I notice 43 lbs gone?
-
What you are feeling is totally normal. I felt the same way, but I promise it does get better. I did not have a fever but I did have the same emotions you are having. It got better for me about 2 weeks postop. Just hang in there. And your not alone....you have us. :-)

I had the same problem before I had insurance. Prilosec OTC worked just as good for me.
-
