  1. OH YEAH!! Still a May sleever!!! I was suppose to have my surgery May 16th but a spot on my lung delayed that, prompted a biopsy and totally threw me into a tissy! Everything turned out ok and my new sleeve date is May 22!! Just 3 days away - i'm SO excited!! :D I hate that everthing happened the way it did (VERY stressful!!) but am kinda glad at the same time - i knew i wanted this but having it delayed and not knowing how long it would be before they could get me back in really drove home how BADLY i want this!! No nerves for me yet, just pure joy that it's happening so soon!!! :)

  2. You're not alone, i have mine done the the 16th also and am pretty calm at this point. I think i just have so many emotions about it all that they're all evening out to that blah feeling you described. Everyone who knows asks me if i'm excited and i am but i'm also considering how life altering this will be and that brings me back to that even keel. People ask me if i'm nervous but i'm really not at this point ... i suspect Tuesday night and most of Wednesday that will hit, last i heard my surgery isn't unitl 3 in the afternoon so i've got ALL DAY to stew about it! I had the same "big girl" realization a few years ago so my mind is still trying to wrap around the fact that if i do what i'm suppose to with this i'll never be that "big girl" again ... a little unsetteling but exciting at the same time! Keep in touch and good luck Wednesday i'm sure you'll do just fine!!!

  3. Ok, my surgeon told me Thursday that they have to detach my spleen and it's tiny "fingers" of blood supplying veins from my stomach in order to do the sleeve and that there's a risk of internal bleeding because of that ... how did i not know that was possible complication until now? It wasn't part of any conversations I've had with the nurse or part of my EMMI prep program that explained the surgery in detail, why am i'm just NOW hearing about this part of it a week and a half before they operate? Is it just not a issue for most people? Did anyone have problems with that part of the procedure or am i just worrying for nothing?

  4. Hi, my name is Danielle and I'm a newbie! As of right now it looks like i'll be having my sleeve procedure early to mid July ... if they can get me in mid-May i'm all for it but am content with waiting until July, just happy for the opportunity to take this journey! I've been working with the Bariatric Center since November and feel like i'm definitely on the right track and that this is the right path for me! I've already lost 24lbs and am excited to keep going til i get to the healthy new me. I've been pretty motivated from the beginning but now that i'm seeing the physical results it makes me want to work even harder to reach my goal!
