  1. Wow! Look at all th people who joined in! I am not on a preop diet. My doctor doesn't require one; although, I might do one for a couple of days on my own. I am from SC, but I live in Kuwait. I am really getting nervous and excited at the same time. One thing that is a bit worrying is that I am a vegetarian. I guess I will just drink veggie broth for the first few days? Can't wait to hear more from all of y'all. One of my biggest hopes is that this summer when I fly home, I can fit comfortably in the airplane seat and not crowd my children in!
  2. Hello, I haven't heard about that group. To be honest, I hadn't thought about looking at FB for support- don't know why tho. I will check it out. April 1 is right around the corner, and I am getting a few butterflies of my own. Thanks!
  3. Hey! I am April 1st. Would love to have some company on this journey!
  4. Went for my consult and to confirm April 1st as my date. Getting really nervous. I am a bit worried because everyone I have read about says they had a leak test, and when I asked about it, she told me they don't do one. She said if there were to be a leak, the first two days would be too early for it. She said it was important to monitor for symptoms and follow up immediately if there are any. Has anyone ever hear of not having a leak test?
  5. Hi Ready4change, Thank you. Yeah, I'm in my 40s so I think it may take a bit longer, but I'm hoping not. I find that I am already tired come 3 or 4, so maybe that won't be a huge change. Thanks!
  6. Thanks MNB, I hope that it will be the case with me that it will be manageable fatigue. I appreciate your reply; it helps with the fear to know others are out there who have been through it. Enjoying, thank you too for responding. My date is not confirmed yet, but it could be April fools day. Hope that's not meaningful for me though. . I should find out for sure tomorrow. No, I'm not in the military, just living and working here. I have a Kuwaiti husband too, I suppose that has something to do with it as well. Are you on a preop diet? I am not yet. Keep me posted on your progress. Again thanks!
  7. Hello all, I am an American living in Kuwait and am anticipating getting sleeved in April. The main thing I am worried about is I only have one week off. Do y'all think that is ok? I am a teacher, so I can't miss more. Iam so nervous it won't be enough time to recoup. Help. Thanks in advance.
  8. Hello, I am thinking of getting VGS at Royale Hayat soon. I am glad to hear you had a good experience. I am planning on going in on a Sunday and going back to work, teaching, the following Sunday. Do you think that is reasonable? I would love to know more about your experience. Thanks.
