I had my surgery on July 11th and I feel pretty good with the exception of the incision that they took the stomach out of. It hurts still. I am still on liquids and I do protein shakes and soups mostly and crystal light. I'm very happy with my vitamins as I take the gummies and I actually look forward to it as a treat because it allows me to chew and it tastes like candy.

So ladies Today is almost a week since my surgery and I'm happy to tell you that I think my smell down there has gone back to my normal boring non aromatic scent lol It wasn't a really offensive smell but like candy I don't like anything different to what I'm used to........and I didn't have anywhere to sit so I couldn't find the positive in it lol Thanks girls!!!

Thanks Minckle I use antibacterial body wash soap and I shower twice a day and wash up several times a day but can't shake this darn smell. I read somewhere online that it's a result of old blood in the abdominal cavity and the anesthesia but I'm not sure if this is true. How long does it take to go away???

Thanks Jafter! They took the drain out for me on Friday and that was DISGUSTING. I looked but it didn't hurt it felt like it should be accompanied by some sort of ridiculous animated cartoon sound. Lol I don't know if that makes sense.

Hey Jafter! I'm doing really well. Still struggling with the head hunger but overall doing very good. Getting all my protein in and water and walking. My incision still hurts but I will get over it. I'm looking forward to shedding the weight!!

I know it's normal for it to hurt. It's the big incision that they pulled the stomach out of that hurts the most. Any tips on how to make it hurt less. The liquid Tylenol really didn't do anything and I haven't been able to walk coz of how much it hurts when I move. Help!

Was just wondering if all of those who are a good few months out and eating regularly are mostly doing low carb or something else? Would someone be kind enough to give me a sample day of their eating? Ideally I am interested in low carb as well as low calorie. I am hoping to do low carb but wonder if it's easy to stick to low carb with a sleeve or maybe a lower calorie Jenny craigesque kinda diet. Just wondering what my future looks like in terms of food. I was sleeved on July 11. P.S also I was wondering if anyone has ever mixed regular low fat Greek yoghurt with a spoonful of crystal light powder and how it tasted......random I know.....was just curious. Lol

My doctor told me once I passed 6 weeks after surgery I was outta the woods in terms of a leak happening. I don't believe you could get a leak any time in your life. I would think stomach nerves regenerates.

I usually pack up on the 6 pack from walmart and consider one of those my water intake for the day.

Hey philligirl For water I buy the smart ones 33.2 ounces and drink one of those a day then try to get in 40g of protein. The isopure was so nasty to me so I went to the vitamin shoppe and the guy was really nice he let me sample some protein. I settled on the whey protein isolate in Chocolate. One scoop mixed with 8 ounces of water is 32 grams of protein. That worked for me really well since it was a lesser quantity and I could fit it in. I add a muscle milk light and I'm good to go. Im only 4 days post op so I would imagine some days moving forward will be harder for me to get everything in but I figure as long as we are trying and not getting dehydrated we should be good to go. :-( I'm sorry you feel like crap. My surgery was the 11th and it was rough up until today. I decided to trudge through the pain and opted for no morphine coz it was making me sick. Walking and sitting up helped and I really didn't have to walk that much to feel a difference. I'm able to drink my Water and my Protein without any issues it's just finding the right one that doesn't taste like feet that was the challenge. It will get better. Everyday you're moving forward away from the pain so try to look at it that way and you have all of us! :-)

2 days post op......can I not drink two muscle milk lights instead of the isopure.?? .it's disgusting. Help!!

I don't even know how it still sells. Now I have a case of the cow piss and I'm not quite sure what I'm gonna do with it.

Thanks guys! I just called my doctor and he said I can do muscle milk light if my stomach can handle it so I tried it and my sleeve agreed. Yay!!! No more isopure for me. That shyt was nasty

Did it give you any issues since its not a clear liquid?

Thanks guys I'm on my way to the hospital and nervous as HELLLLL!!!!!!! My surgery is at noon. So far the experience has been easy. The endoscopy was great, Dr.Washington was great and now if I could get through this last hurdle (the surgery) I'll be good to go. Okay first of all I'm sorry you are going trough this. I know it's tough but you will get through this. Second stop calling him. Give him his space or time or whatever it is that he needs. This will give him the chance to think about what he's done and possibly come back. If you keep calling him and bombarding him with questions he will not get this time. It will also give you the opportunity to get over him. Start thinking about your plan b. Can you relocate to be closer to your family and cousins? Get up and dust yourself off and try again!!! You just had the surgery your whole life is going to change in a matter of months. Your confidence level will sky rocket. You will have a new take on life. BUMP HIM! There are plenty of guys out there who will appreciate you and value your worth. Besides, do you really want a guy who would do this to you and your son rigt after surgery anyways???! To be honest I think he fled because he knew that once you lose the weight you will be too good for him and that would crush his ego. Get up and walk with your head high and enjoy the act that you are a mother of a beautiful 12 yr old who loves you unconditionally. This too shall pass.

I'm on day 4 of a pure liquid and Protein shake diet and I hate life right now. I'm just mad. And I'm obnoxiously full from all these stupid damn muscle milks! Not happy
