  1. The half of the scrambled egg white I attempted to eat yesterday tried to kill me. It was awwwwful. Sorry if this is TMI, but the 2 times I've tried scrambled eggs I get the grosses vomiting experience, it's as if it takes forever to all come up, & I'm practically choking with the mouthfuls of slime that do come up. Im bummed because I loved eggs before-now, not a fan! I got a lil discouraged because next week I get my new (1 month) diet from my dr (yay for crab, chicken, & VEGGIES) but I was thinking, if an EGG kicked my butt how am I gonna even try anything else. Maybe eggs & I will have to do a trial separation for now & attemp a reconciliation much MUCH later down the road.

  2. Good for you!!! I had started C25K pre-op & had to stop for surgery. Looking forward to starting again after my dr clears me. I LOVE the app, makes it Sooo much easier. Wow, I never even considered that soon, I'll be able to shop from VS for something other than lotion!!! LOL!!!

Woot woot!! I finished day 1! I know it may not seem like a big deal. But I tried to start C25k pre-op. I got horrible shin splints and I never got past day 3. I was walking at a speed of about 2.5 and jogging at 3.0. Weeeeellll, tonight I ran at a pace of 4.5/6 and walking at 4.0!! (insert banana man dancing)

I don't feel any pain and even did some lunges and weights afterwards!!

I have a goal of wearing this hot two piece I saw on Victoria Secrect.com for my 30th bday in September!!

  3. Oh Gosh I hope I can follow in your recovery-I'm hanging in there, keeping my eye on the prize but sheesh-this is sooooo much rougher than anything I anticipated. But, I know it will all be worth it, & at some point I'll be able to eat without looking at it regurgitated I'm the trashcan. Lol

I did not get to more solid foods, albeit very pureed, till around the six week mark! It's a process and you have to be patient. I think you are doing well by taking it slow. When I was first instructed to include soft foods I was petrified! It gets better though. Again, it's a process! Now at 8 months out I can eat anything I want - I limit what I eat based on good choices, not inability or nausea. Hang in there! It will get better!!!

  4. Feeling nervous for my 1st day back @ work tomorrow. I'm still struggling with eating, so I'm taking a "lunch" with enuf items for the week- but am planning on doing my Protein Shake around lunchtime (which is what I did pre-surgery) & having meal # 2 when i get home around 3. very very few people know about my surgery-I went with the gallbladder cover. & everyone knows I workout alot ( I'm even

planning on changing @ work for the gym)

I've put some thought even into what I'm wearing tomorrow- I don't want to accentuate that I've lost weight (soooo weird to say that) but I just don't want to deal with nosy people. Ive always been ultra sensitive about my weight & this has been emotional, especially dealing with complications. I'm looking forward to beginning counseling to get a handle on the mental battles. But just had to vent about my pre-work jitters! (not to mention, it's that time of the month-lol) wish me luck!!!

  5. In addition to the fab ideas above, I've found myself running & picking up mini-storage containers. I love the GLAD screw on lids for things like soup& the little 4 oz containers to pack food in. Having some sort of storage containers are a necessity since you'll only be eating such a small amount. I'm also freezing lots if things in single serving sizes just to have handy in the future.

  7. Awesome idea, I tried that this morning, deeelish! Thanks!!!

I don't think you're being overly cautious at all!! I think you're doin great! 40 ounces of fluids in 8 hours is good. If you have had a problem with vomiting I would def take it slow. As slow as you want to go,baby your sleeve. Congrats to you and I'm glad you're not getting sick anymore. You should try some greek yogurt,it is awesome and great for Protein. I put a lil sugar free Torani Syrup and sugar free strawberry preserves in mine and it is heavenly!

  8. So I've had a horrible time adjusting to my sleeve, with yucky complications. However, I am THRILLED to be on day 2 of NO PUKING!!! I found I can tolerate warm Decaf tea with a touch of peppermint extract. Last night I ate a shot glass full of shredded cheese & today I have kept down 1 oz of applesauce & 2 oz of VERY runny refried Beans. I want to throw myself a party, I am soooo excited to not have my head shoved in my trashcan which hasn't left my side yet since being sleeved. So I know I'm VERY paranoid about going slow. It took me literally an hour & a half to eat 1 oz of applesauce & an hour to eat 2 oz of beans. I sipped my tea last night from 4pm-1am & was able to drink about 40 oz!!!! Am I being overly cautious. Tips are welcomed please!!!

  9. Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts & I can definitely use the prayers. I'm getting some fluids down-not much, but some. Got the green light to start mushies. That's a 50/50 battle. Some stays down, others not. My surgeon who has performed literally thousands of procedures told me I'm only the 3rd person with this particular kind of complication he's encountered. I know my poor sleeve is really "traumatized" & I want just to give the poor thing a break! I know that there will be a time that comes when all of this will be behind me, but in the meantime it's miserable!

  10. I was sleeved friday 1/20/12. Instead of going home on Sunday as planned, my dr decided to keep me an extra day because I was struggling with ice chips & oral meds. The first few days at home went fine, I went from 299 morning of surgery to 286 by my 1 week appointment. My first day of soft foods went well, but beginning with day 2 EVERYTHING came back up, & I became dehydrated. By 2/1/12 I got readmitted, & an upper GI showed I had a "kink", that my

sleeve had bent itself & scar tissue (adhesions) were holding it bent. After another surgery to straighten my stomach & 5 day hospital stay, I was able to return home. However, I'm struggling with this nonsense sliming/foaming mess. Even when I go SUPER SLOW, it seems as if once I start, then I'm doomed for the rest of the day. Has anyone had an experience similar to this or any tips. I'm already on prilosec & am terrified of becoming dehydrated again.
