I have the same stats as you and seeing your pics gives me so much to look forward to on this journey. U look amazing and the expression that you have in your 1st pic is the expression that I have everytime someone pulls out the camara and goes "Say Cheese".

Congrats!!!!! Just curious, how tall are you? I started my 2 week pre-op diet this morning & am anxious for surgery!!!

@Stacey, I wish that I only had to do a 2 day pre-op. I was asked why I started a week earlier. I knew going from having solids to liquids was gonna be hard for me. I am so glad that I started early b/c it was a challenge the first 2 days. I actually had the worst headache and nausea, but I am on day 4 and my actual pre-op start date is 02/28

Congrats!!!! I share the same Sleeve date w/you. I am actually getting nervous, b/c I have 2 week pre-op diet and I actually started it 02/21/12 instead of 02/28/12 and I am so glad that I did b/c the 1st 2 days were horrible for me. Can't wait to hit the Loser's Bench!!!!!!!Yay

I think that I am just as impatient as you are Tara. My Sleeve date is 03/13 & I am counting down the days. I have pre-op on Monday (02/20) & then still have 3 weeks. I just wish it would get here already. I have gotten everything in order so I have nothing but time to be on VST & watch the clock!!!!!!!

I am REALLY Excited now. I called Aetna this morning to find out what the status of my pre-certification was. I was told that there was some missing info from my Drs office, so I called the surgeon's office and was told that the insurace coordinator had called the info in this morning. I called back to Aetna after lunch to check the status & was told that I was APPROVED!!!!!! I didn't even get a chance to call my surgeon b/c his scheduler was calling me to set up surgery. I will be "SLEEVED" on March 13th and I am so excited. I have 33 days until A NEW ME!!!!!!!! Pre-Op in 10 days (2/20) 2 week Pre-Op Diet in 17 days (2-28). YAY ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi my name is Nikia, I am 35 yrs old and I am so excited about my "Journey." I started thinking about WLS about a year ago, but told myself that I would try it the "old fashioned way." I started lost about 25 lbs but then I gained the 25 lbs lost and then some. My decision came after visiting my mother last August and saw the pictures from that trip. I cried for 2 straight days when I realized that this is the heaviest that I have ever been in my life. When I started doing my research I knew that I wasn't going to have the RNY, but I was still "torn" between the Lap-Band & the VSG. I attended the information session and I was still not quite sure which one. I then scheduled my consultation w/the surgeon and when we were discussing things he actually told me that I would have more success w/VSG as opposed to the LB. I went home and talked with my husband and being the "Sweetheart" that he is, he told me that if I was going to do this, then I might as well go all the way with the VSG. Knowing that I had his support, really made this alot easier for me. Although I am doing this for myself and my health, it was so much easier knowing that he was supportive of this lifestyle change. I have Aetna and they require either a 6 month (PCP) program or a 4 month, I chose the 4 month multidisciplinary program & I had my last appointment today (YAY)!!!!! They will submit to Aetna next week & I am so excited. @dorrie robles, Thanks so much. I am really excited about this. I actually called Aetna today to see if they have received my info and was told that it was there to be reviewed and the MD's office is looking at surgery date 02/29/12 (1 month away). I am so happy to be so close to a new life :pray:
