  5. Hi, Could you elaborate on the health and mental issues that the surgery caused you? Also, what were your experiences in Mexico? How did you go about it the wrong way? Could you say what your eating and exercise habits are now? Sorry for the questions but yours was a fascinating post and I'm sure folks will try to help you if they can.

    INCHS VS SCALE WEIGHT

Way to see it right, newgrandmother! I've had many stalls in the last year but the fat kept rolling off. I am 64, I havent been this slim since my 20's. I am now 1 pound under goal and am now more concerned about muscle building.
  7. Goal weight of 220 has been attained! Pictures shall be forthcoming. We are having difficulty locating suitable before pictures.

  8. Oh, no! I just discovered the toggle editing mode button on the top left of the reply tools box. Sorry for the trouble, Alex. All is well now.
  9. No luck, Alex. From Microsoft: (If a website doesn't display correctly in Internet Explorer, using Compatibility View might help. If Internet Explorer recognizes a website that isn't compatible, you'll see the Compatibility View icon on the address bar. To turn Compatibility View on, click the Compatibility View button to the make the icon change from an outline to a solid color.) There was no icon. I went to Tools-Compatibility settings and added the forum to the list to be viewed in Compatibility View . No change, the stuff is still greyed out and doesn't work.
  10. Hi Alex, I cannot use the nifty stuff at the top of the reply box, no smilies, bold, ect. It is greyed out. When I roll over the stuff it gets darker but clicking on them will do nothing. Internet Explorer 9. It worked fine a few days ago. I tried to find something that might have changed on my part in internet options but no dice. Any advise? P.S. Well, it must be an IE9 thang. I am posting this line with firefox. P.P.S. Alex, this is a common problem with IE9 apparently. It may have to do with a java script update that IE9 made that left forums in the cold. Is food still enjoyable?

food is much better now. It tastes the same but I chew it more and take my time with it. I enjoy it more. I am not eating to fill a big hole, I am eating for pleasure. I eat without guilt. When I eat I no longer have the underlying dread that I am hurting myself. Now I am blessing my body, not destroying it. Sometimes when I eat a feeling of joy comes over me. It's hard to believe but I think my body is thanking me for taking charge and expressing pleasure in the good things that I am giving it.

    Annoying Psych Eval

Just curious...do you think psychs are given a psych eval before they can do evals? Or is crazy contagious? If my daughter was considering a guy on Plenty of Fish who was a psych evaluator I would disable her computer!

    TUMMY TUCK TOMORROW MORNING

After I put my pics up you all can give me opinions on it. I lean toward no, I look OK in clothes and my male modeling career is over. I wear a t-shirt when I swim, sun doesn't like my fair complexion so being impressive at the beach is a non-factor.

    TUMMY TUCK TOMORROW MORNING

One year on Jan. 16. I have stepped up the exercise big time in the last couple of months so the slow loss at the end is no biggie to me. I have put muscle back on and my clothes fit better and fat is going bye-bye.

    MAJOR NSV!

I used to have the same problem just putting on my socks trying to get past my giant belly, dar1983. Eyes bulging out, face getting red, breathing stopped, trying not to pass out. I'm a lot more graceful these days.
  17. A problem for me, too, docbree. I don't have RA but I have aches left over from cancer treatment. Tylenol does nothing for me as well as being hard on the liver. Ibuprofen works a little and I take it even though I was told by a pharmacist not to. I take it with food hoping to ease the bad effects. The time with Lortab and hydrocodone after the operation was a good time for me. That stuff takes the edge off of the pain. Docs are not free to prescribe pain killers to people who have chronic pain very easily any more. Unless, of course, you're a celebrity. So we just suffer, trying to shift our mind to other things.

    TUMMY TUCK TOMORROW MORNING

I have been following this wonderful thread. I am so proud of you, Frumpynomore, for starting it and keeping it up! And thank you so much for the pictures. Wow, what a change! No wonder your surgeon wanted to post your pics. You must be very happy with it. You paid a price in many ways but the results speak for themselves. And thank you. Lara0280! You look great! I am planning on posting my before and after pics after I reach my goal of one more pound but they are quite a yawn compared to you guys' pics! You are tough, tough, ladies!
  20. Your attitude will help you lose the weight faster. Why? Stress slows weight loss. Stressing over stalls helps them hang on longer. Dump the stress, dump the stall. Your wisdom serves you well. http://www.caloriesecrets.net/can-stress-cause-weight-gain-or-weight-loss/

    So Happy with Myself

Pooh Bear likes honey. This PoohBear is a honey! Congratulations!
  22. OK. Thanks! I had never heard of that. My doc always put these inflaters on my legs that inflate and deflate all night. They are supposed to help with clots. I'm a light sleeper so I didn't get much shut-eye during hospital stays. When I got my gall bladder out and got my sleeve, though, the morphine made it so I could sleep anyway. Three more days! Prayers and good wishes for you!
  23. Thanks! Are they going to remove yours later?
  24. Keep in mind that the exact same thing would have happened if you had not been sleeved and just ate what you ate. It's just that you have invested much money and suffering and expect a result from it. Very understandable. I would mortgage my house and bet the money that you will drop eventually with the great discipline you are showing. I have been through many illogical stalls in the last year. Your body doesn't care about math. It does what it does and doesn't tell you why. Brats, aren't they?
  25. I can tolerate those flat pita type breads but not too much. Sometimes I can tolerate those tiny McDonalds burgers, at least half of one. It seems I tolerate everything better earlier in the day.
