Does the sleeve make food a non issue?

Good question and good posts. The only time I think about food is when I am shopping for it, eating it, or talking on this forum. No longer do I lay in bed dreaming up concoctions to run down my neck. No more endless drooling at the Food Network trough. Food has taken it's rightful place on a lesser shelf right next to my multi-Vitamins. It is energy first, enjoyed but not worshipped, the vast majority of my pleasure in life is derived elsewhere.
  6. I was ready to bring my arsenal of vitriolic language to join you in utter disdain for psych evals but this post cooled my jets. VSGKIRK is right. My psych eval rejected me because I was a hippy in the 60's, hence the name above my picture. In 1969, I quit drugs and was healed of hippytitus. I've been a minister and clean ever since. My surgeon was livid with anger and sent off an immediate appeal to the insurance company. I was soon approved. If you can make an appeal and get this changed it would be great. If not, it will still be good..IF you get cleared after the period and after you've jumped through all the hoops. I would appeal to the surgeon first, though.

    Discouraged :(

The best exercise for discouragement is: 1. Go to a large city. 2. Find the tallest building. 3. Walk the stairs to the top. 4. Walk to the edge of the roof. 5. Throw your scale off, don't hit anyone below.

    Neuropathy Anyone

What neuropathy is for the curious: http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/147963.php Yes, I have neuropathy from chemo treatment for prostate cancer recieved in 2009. It affects my left toes and the left side of the foot and a few toes on my right foot. It is numbness more than burning. When I put on shoes it feels like the sock is bunched up or there is something in the shoe. Amazingly, my cancer doctors acted surprised that the chemo affected me this way. I was a part of a study and didn't have to pay for the expensive toxins. It did cure my scalp psoriasis...go figure. I was given 2 years to live. I am going on 5 now and don't plan to die soon. The neuropathy did not affect my sleeving or the intense exercise I engaged in afterward. Most of the time I am not aware of it. Life goes on.

    is this normal

I can still, at a year and a half, only eat a limited amount of dense things such as steak. Potatoes and rice fill me up very fast so I leave them to last or avoid them. Yogurt goes down easy as do most things that have a high moisture content. So, having said this, I pronounce your observation.....normal.

    I am #teamNOtummy

I would comment but every time I look at your "after" pic I forget why I'm here.... Great job!!!!
  12. Good advice thus far. There are many exercises, even leg exercises, that avoid the knees. Don't sweat the honeymoon period thing. If you work at it, it can last you a life time. Hmmm....sounds like a regular honeymoon.
  13. Oh...I thought it was a rhetorical question....**clears throat**......What! What!!
  14. The "like" button here means more than like to me. When someone is relating a problem it means empathy not that I like that they are having a problem. When they are having a battle it means support. When they have a victory it means applause. When they make a good point I am saying, "Here,Here!" When they tell a funny I am chuckling along. I would guess that you feel and think things that I have not mentioned when you hit the button. Having a row of more specific buttons would present problems with the reputation point system. At the risk of being misunderstood, I still like the "like".

    This is my story

Sounds like you are on your way! That supportive husband is a big boost. Good for him. I was not supportive of my wife when she wanted WLS. I went to a meeting with the surgeon and switched like a low-in-the-polls politician. I ended up sleeving, best choice I have made in a long time. We are here for you!

    The flexible "like" button...

Deb, as she goes through the mail, "What did you do while I was gone, honey?" Me, "I annoyed some ladies on the forum and they plotted my demise." Deb, "That's nice."

    CLOTHES, CLOTHES, CLOTHES

Believe it or not Macy's, T.J. Maxx, Dillard's, etc. have sales that rival thrift store prices if you look closely at the 70% off racks. I have made some major scores of which I am proud.

    The flexible "like" button...

In an Iowan colloquial sense a snake is an attractive woman. However, the aversion factor of the coral snake would offset any schmooze effectiveness. I am not sure what this means either.

Could be the lipstick...kind of has a coral snake ambience..
