  1. If you keep your exercise/activity level up and follow guidlines there is no reason you can't go down to those goofy chart statistics and reach "normal". I lost at least another 20 pounds after one year and thought I had stopped at 10 pounds under goal but lost another 2 pounds this week. I am a year and nine months out. My week contained carrying 80 pound sacks of cement, mixing them in a wheelbarrow, and dumping it in post holes for 6 hours. Just your normal day for a 64 year old man.

    Another year, cancer free!

Fantastic! I am a cancer survivor as well, (prostate, diagnosed 2009). I was told dumping the fat helps the odds. So far so good!

    Long time lurker

I thought someone was watching us! You're not with the NSA are you? Seriously, welcome!
  4. Mine came out through a crescent shaped scar above my belly button. As I look at the area, I believe I see a resemblance to a celebrity:
  5. Weighed myself this evening after a hard days work. I'm down to 208. Stall broken. I am now thinking my new goal will be to go to 200 and under....haven't been there since I was in my early 20's.

    Something I just can't stand

I had to choose between being a smooth, puffed up dead guy and a wrinkled up, saggy, healthy butt kicker. That fact that I am still here illustrates my choice. The skin doesn't hinder anything important. Adjusting the mind is worth the effort.
  7. My experiment with vodka has resulted in it's re-assignment as cleaning Fluid.
  8. Eating in the morning, which I assume is when you ate the eggs, allows for more capacity in my experience. Eggs are easy to get down for me as well. They are a staple due to their protein content. Chickens are a sleevers friend.
  9. Perhaps I can get myself included in a beefcake calendar entitled, The Men of Medicare.
  10. My stats below tell the story. I could have been heavier, I stayed off the scale then to avoid further depression. I have resisted the temptation to up my starting weight to make my loss more dramatic. The main point is that it came off and I am elated to be rid of it.
  11. You may want to ask about the Duodenal Switch: http://www.duodenalswitch.com/procedure/procedure.html
  12. My wife had the bypass and is doing quite well. She lost all of her excess fat but her mouth is a bit excessive at times. (She is sitting in the room, I told her what I said..she laughed but will lower the boom later...ya...I'm a masochist).

    Question

The ghosts in your sleeve send ectoplasm up your throat when you don't chew thoroughly, eat too much or too fast.

    People don't recognize me!

You look wonderful!!! The FBI's face recognition software may have a hard time with you.
  16. Hey,Tampa, over here in Zephyrhills I ate 4 meatballs tonight. Weren't very big though. No spaghetti, no sauce. Had nothing to do with being in Zephyrhills. I just like writing Zephyrhills.
  17. After surgery very little can be eaten due to swelling. From that point to a year a doubling in capacity would be true. I do believe my ego has doubled, though.
  18. Good point. Fat is easier by far to deal with than compacted bowels of compassion.
  19. So you consider my e-book "How to Lose 120 Pounds in a Year Chanting Monty Python Quotes" unethical? Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries! (Dropped another ounce there)

    hot flaxmeal instead of oatmeal

Good call! Flax has been my friend for a long time. Protein, Fiber, lignans, good oils, the stuff is a treasure! http://www.webmd.com...its-of-flaxseed
  21. Whether you tell or don't tell will not change the fact that you work with pre-adolescent emotional level jerks. They are not worth stressing about. The folks I tell have to prove themselves mature enough to handle the truth first. One thing for sure, I am absolutely not ashamed and when I talk of my surgery I will not allow anyone to try to frame it as an act of cowardice or as the easy way out.
  22. Pure Protein bars for me and wifey. 16g carbs, 2g sugars, 200 calories, 20 g protein. I like the chocolate peanut butter but the peanut butter surprise is our favorite when we can find them. They have a creamy caramel center that suits me down to my shoes.
  23. I also devour chicken in various versions. It sits easier on my sleeve than hamburger, pork chops, steak, but not as good as fish. The moisture content of meats make them easier to take so in casseroles is the best. Grapes are great especially if the are fresh, juicy, and crisp.
  24. Wife and I lost the 200 pounds between us. Closer we are!
