    OMG I'M BORED!

Take it easy on your abdomen muscles is my advice. I didn't do full push ups until a year out because they taxed my abdomen too much. Commit to lifelong fitness and work up to optimal shape.
  2. The sleeve is a tool but can be defeated. The only doctor who had a sure cure for gaining weight was named...Kevorkian..... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Kevorkian
  3. Every time I eat rice I wished that I had not. It seems to ball up in my stomach and becomes unpleasant. The trouble is...I just don't want to believe it. Chinese and Mexican food were offered to me by relatives over the holidays and I tested it and came up with the same answer. Reminds me of when we weaned my sweet daughter from the bottle. We said, "No, baba." She would do some light crying for about 15 seconds and then say, "Baba?" "No baba", we said. Again with the crying and then, "Baba?" "No, baba."... "waaaaa.." It must have taken 10 cycles of this before reality set in.
  4. If you don't like confrontation it is not wise to set up a battle before you even state your reasoning. Give the people some credit for understanding and understand that haters are not rightfully classified as haters just because they disagree with you. If you do like confrontation you did fine.
  5. Almost 2 years out, tried some vodka in White Russian. Burned in my tummy, is now consigned to the cleaning fluid closet. Don't need it for a high, I am high on life and my new low gravity environment.

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

    NSV shout outs

Smacked my wife this morning. I couldn't tell if she was still there because since she lost her weight she doesn't make much of a bulge in the bed. I felt over there a little too quickly to make sure and she hollered, "Ouch!" The victory is that she didn't hit me back.
  9. I don't think you or anybody else has been censored at all. But I do feel there are certain subforums dedicated to certain groups to discuss their commonalities. Amongst others, there is a religious forum to discuss your faith and devotion to god. And this is not it. Just like men are asked to stay out of the powder room and women are asked to stay out of the mans room.
  10. That's basically what I was thinking. The special interest support groups seem to be set up for people of a certain viewpoint or common situation to support each other in their WLS issues. Having those with differing views come in and argue about the foundation of the forums defeats their purpose. The Lounge perhaps would be a better place for theological arguments.
  11. We need to bring up with Alex the rule about this. These are support groups for a certain point of view with VSG as the center, not necessarily a debate area as I read the introduction. This particular original post had both points of view, rather unique. Should atheists keep to their own area and religious to their own?

    room for newbies?

Hi, Christine! Quite a thread you came into! No worries! Welcome! GMan, were you a Gman by profession?
  13. Thanks for sharing! Hope everything goes well for you in the future!
  14. Poison Ivy....in December! Wanna trade? Florida...it's not all paradise!
  15. Ya, everything is a trade-off. Amazingly, the mosquitoes here a much less oppressive than Ohio, can't tell you for sure why other than that they spray for them here. The heat here is a blessing to my joints, cold gives me ouchies. Much more to do here, lotsa fun stuff, diverse races and ethnicities, sunlight, no state tax. Traffic...yes..especially around Orlando. But like they say here, there's a reason for the crowds.
  16. Yup, Siesta Key is one of the few beaches that won't burn your feet, the sand is so white it reflects the light away. You got that right about poison spreading to inconvenient places. I managed to avoid that. Believe me, it was on my mind!
  17. I got some tecnu extreme medicated poison ivy scrub and have to use it twice a day to maintain sanity. In the picture I have calamine lotion on which helps a bit, too. I have it on both arms, belly, and legs. I put my picture up on facebook to make my snowbound northern friends feel better about not being in sunny Florida. My niece then told me she got it in December from a log she threw into the fireplace!
  18. Careful this could just be that kind of day gman! uh, oh! Back in bed, turn the electric blanket to 7.
  19. I posted a pic, didn't show up, edited, it made a new duplicate thread with the pic.
  20. The battles you win add up even if you lose a battle...fall down....get back up.....keep fighting...war won.
  21. Great work!!!! Applause!!!!
  22. I was thinking about the Jerry Springer shows I have seen. Some lady comes on with a jerk husband and the audience yells, "Dump him!" They can't understand her reluctance. Why? They don't feel what she feels. You have gone through much with your weight problem. You didn't jump into this on a whim, you have much good reasoning behind it. You are motivated and determined, you have the courage to make a move like this. The folks that ask you, "Are you sure you want to do this?" do not come from where you do. They can't feel what you feel, they don't know what you know, they don't have the guts that you have mustered up. All they are saying is..."That is scary!"...I wouldn't do it". Of course not, they have not been prepared by life and intelligence like you have.

    Debating sugery

We've had a number of teenagers come here who have had this surgery. We also have old folks like me who have had it and anything in between. I am as active now at 64 as I was in my 20's. I am lean and mean, only thing holding me back is....my back...and other joints. If I can solve that problem, no stopping me.
  24. If anyone who gets this operation and doesn't have misgivings I would say cancel the operation and get psychiatric therapy instead. This is a big move, our sense of self-preservation both gets us into this and makes us question whether to go through with it. It's not real until it happens..it's happening. Most of the battles I have been in were not as bad as the contemplation of them before they started. Hang on, DreaE, you got this.
  25. ya, but you're cute...ok, so is butter...
