  1. I'm not having any problems drinking anything! People are so different. Yesterday, my 1st full day home, I drank 80oz of liquid, including 48mg of Protein powder. I'm definitely gonna get that much in today...probably more! My doc told me to drink as much as I can tolerate because liquids won't stretch the stomach. Thank God for that. Good luck to you!
  2. Your titles fine! I understood exactly what you were saying!
  3. The day before surgery I bought some biotin shampoo and conditioner from GNC. I'm only 3 days out, but I'll have it if I need it.
  4. My surgery was the 3rd and yesterday, my 1st full day home, I was able to drink 80oz of liquid, including 48mg of protein. I guess everyone is soooo different! Good luck to you; I'm sure it will get easier! Keep up the good work!!!
  5. I'm only 3 days out, but yesterday, my 1st full day home, I was able to drink 80oz of liquid, including 48mg of Protein. My son is 3 years out and he went through a multitude of protein powders before finally finding one that was good. I ordered mine 2 weeks before surgery so that I would have it post-op. Its called Optimum Nutrition, 100% Whey, Gold Standard, Rocky Road, 5 lbs. I put 2 scoops in a 12oz shaker bottle (shake vigorously) then put it in the freezer till its almost frozen. Shake it again, then enjoy, and I mean REALLY enjoy...its really, REALLY good!!!
  6. I'm so excited to be able to post on the post-op side of things!!! I spent one night in the hospital and then went home. Yesterday, my first full day at home, I drank 78oz of liquid, including 48mg of Protein. Truthfully, I was a bit scared to go home & be on my own but I truly worried for nothing. My doc told me to drink as much as I was comfortable with, so that's exactly what I did. He said that liquid couldn't stretch the sleeve. I do get a little gassy when I swallow, but that's normal & I don't even have to sip. It is difficult to drink without getting some air in, but its really not bad! I just pray that this continues without complication. I feel so sorry for those who are having post-op problems. Hang in there...it'll be soooo worth it!!! These pics are the morning of surgery. I can't wait to post after pics!!! Good luck, all!!!
  7. I guess everyone's different. I'm 3 days out and can, literally, drink anything. Yesterday (my first full day home), for example, I drank 78oz, including a protein drink. I do have some gas, nothing I can't live with. My doc said drink as much as you want since liquid doesn't stretch the sleeve. I've already consumed 44oz today and it's only passed noon! Good luck to you as you head towards you goal!!!
  8. I say scar tissue (adhesions)! Ask your doctor just to be sure, though!
  9. Thanks so much, Della! I guess I really don't have a choice!
  10. Well, surgery's tomorrow (Tuesday, February 3, 2015) and I'm sick: runny nose; soar throat; headache; swollen glands; cough; postnasal drip...drip...drip. I do have extreme allergies and I'm hoping it's that. I don't have a fever and I'm not short of breath. What would you do???
  11. Getting excited! Anyone else on the 3rd? I am ready to get this show I on the road.
  12. I pre-oped on Thursday. My surgery is scheduled for Tuesday the 3rd...Just 2 more days. My surgeon only requires Clear Liquids the day before surgery and NPO after midnight the night before, for everyone being sleeved. I'm so happy he's my doc!!! Hope everything is going well with you!!!
  13. That's funny!!! My husband laughed, too!
  14. @ I was banded in 2002. It was wonderful...until it wasn't. I lost my weight & kept it off for 8 years, with no problems. Then the problems began: disconnected tubing; 2 band slips; bad port. Four surgeries later, my doc told me that I could no longer use the band. As a result, I have gained 40+ in the last 4 years. Next Tuesday I will be getting a sleeve. Of course, leakage is a real consideration, but with the sleeve, you don't have to worry about the equipment deteriorating or malfunctioning! I hope this helps you! It's always best to get as much info as you can before committing to anything so big!!! Good luck with making your decision and with whichever one you go with!!! BTW, I'll be 59 in 3 weeks.
  15. Just got my date...Feb 3rd!!! I'm so excited!! Thanks everyone!

  21. My doctor's office just called and everything is done. She is sending my chart to scheduling! I am so excited!!! I want this ASAP!!!! Like yesterday!!!
  22. I'm being sleeved in Metairie; I'm thinking Feb 3rd.
  23. @@Zane's Mom, I don't know about getting my goal weight from that chart. It doesn't take age into account or body type, which, logically, it should.
  24. Some people are just not happy! Therefore, they don't want anyone to be happy! They are just sad, sad people and won't be happy till everyone around them is miserable! Try not to take what they say to heart. That's what they want; don't give them the satisfaction! I think I would say, smiling, something like, "Rude much?". But that's me and I wouldn't put up with it...for long!!!
