I can't drink any protein! Help
GEAUX SAINTS replied to Kristy Haugen Oliver's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Believe me when I say I've spent hundreds on Protein shakes. They all made me sick as hell!!! Finally, I found unjury strawberry Sorbet. It's really good, to me, anyway. It still makes my tummy growl, but I don't get sick anymore! I got mine from my surgeons office the first time. They gave my several packets to try. The Strawberry won out, hands down. I will order it from Amazon when I run out. You can order a sample pack from Amazon or from the Unjury website. The send 2 packs of each flavor. Try it! Good luck to you! -
Way to go!!!!!

Beef Jerky, Protein bars, string cheese wrapped with prosciutto or salami ( I found them at Winn Dixie), and almonds. I also put tons of ice in my cup, so after I drink I can eat the ice. It helps!

OMG, that's phenomenal!!!

GEAUX SAINTS replied to lmaher718's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My friend had it after her sleeve, as well. It has resolved , which is great. She's not on her so I can't help much, but you're not alone! It happens, obviously! Good luck! -
The 3 week stall is VERY REAL!
GEAUX SAINTS replied to Brenew's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the "dreaded 3 week stall" at 2 1/2 weeks out and it last 3 weeks! You're lucky! I was going crazy! Actually, the carbs you ate probably gave you a jump start! Keep up the good work!!! -
It's so hard to ignore all the food commercials!
GEAUX SAINTS replied to wannaBthinsoon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can't even remember if they bothered me or not at a week out. Nothing bothers me now. I don't ever want to "cheat". Commercials don't bother me, smelling food either. Someone said that after about the 6 week mark, the hunger goes away. Now, I don't really get hungry...I eat because I know my body needs it. Good luck to you! -
I had a 3 week stall a while back. I decided to go back to basics. I started eating just protein again and it seemed to work. Good luck to you!!!

Advice please band to sleeve
GEAUX SAINTS replied to socialbutterfli's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Sleeve, sleeve, sleeve!!! The band, is implanted in you, which has parts that can erode, come apart, deteriorate!!! I ended having 5 surgeries before I was revised to a sleeve. It's just more normal. Good luck to you in whatever you choose!!! -
Extremely Excited, Have to Update, Hoping to give hope.....
GEAUX SAINTS replied to NewLife4Jen's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@NewLife4Jen - Congrats!!! Hope you love your sleeve as much as I do!!! -
I had it CONSTANTLY with my band but only twice since I was sleeved! I know I'm not much help, but it doesn't seem normal to me.

No energy and 4 days post op!
GEAUX SAINTS replied to aprilsleeve's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I hate to rain on your parade, but I felt exhausted, weak & dizzy until about 5 weeks out! Then I just woke up one morning and poof, I felt alive again! Try upping your Protein. It should help with your energy! Good luck to you. -
You didn't say what you're eating, but try going back to basics. I did this after a 3 week stall and it worked. Eat only protein. No veggies or fruit. Try it for a week and see if it gives you a kick start.

@@burtonbn - My doc was the same and I think I'm doing fine. I loved being able to eat all my favorite things the weekend before. If you feel like you need to do the liquid thing prior to surgery, go for it, though. It won't hut you! Good luck in your journey!!!

One month out! Need to take some pictures...
GEAUX SAINTS replied to liannatx's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good for you!! Keep up the good work, and it is work!!! I take selfies all the time now. I servers take pics of my husband and me at restaurants. I love it!!! -
Faking it at a restaurant
GEAUX SAINTS replied to carrie3101's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I order a salad with shrimp, dressing on the side so I can take the leftovers home. If they don't have a light dressing that you like, bring your own. I use an empty MIO container. It's the perfect size. Just tell people you like this dressing better that what restaurants usually have. Or I get fish, chicken or shrimp. You can ask them to grill it instead of frying it. If they come pre-breaded (UGH), you know it's not fresh anyway, so I probably would find more healthy place to eat. Good luck to you!!! -
I would call my family practitioner, not my surgeon. I can't imagine that it has anything to do with your surgery! Feel better!!!

I Want a Drink!
GEAUX SAINTS replied to Slimsoon1988's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Slimsoon1988 - My doc says no alcohol for 6 months, but only because of the sugar content. I figured it would be hard for me, as well, but I don't even want any. I just can't put those calories in me!!! -
I agree with Jamie. I eat it one a week. It shouldn't be a problem if it's the only thing that has bothered you.

Ladies! Pain Levels post-op
GEAUX SAINTS replied to windeedae's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The GAS pain is the worst part. GAS is in all caps because it IS painful and all over; shoulders, neck, chest...everywhere!!!
