I Have Made It To One-Derland!

Congratulations! Can't wait till I get there too! :-)
  2. I started simple cardio on a stationary bike. Now, I ride 11 miles in 30 minutes, 4 days a week. I've also added strength training....I was sleeved March 2nd.
  3. I can literally barely squeeze in 500 calories a day. How many should I be eating to obtain optimal weight loss? I work out every day...30 minutes of cardio, and an hour of strength training. I was sleeved March 2, and am 46 lbs down. Help!
  4. Thank goodness, I was seriously beginning to thInk I was doing this all wrong.

    My Diet....

Rizabonita, I sure am. I'm losing inches faster than lbs, but I'm almost 50lbs down now. I try to eat more, I just can't ...it hurts.

    My Diet....

You're Lucky you can get all that in. At that stage, I could barely get 16oz of fluid a day, and almost dehydrated myself. I still only eat about 500 calories a dag, and was sleeved March 2. Good for you for getting in your protein...I don't get quite enough :-(

    Funny :)

I love my sleeve too! I used to spend so much dining out, and now I don't even have the urge to do so. Saves me a ton of money!
  8. Great, they're yours! Inbox me your info, and I'll try and send them out before I leave town Wednesday. :-)
  9. Help! I'm so scared of food. I don't want to develop an eating disorder because of it. I'm scared, because I'm not quite sure what to eat now to continue losing weight. All I know is that nothing tastes as good as skinny feels...or will feel. I want the weight gone so bad, that I feel like I can't even enjoy food. What did you eat to become successful? I workout every day, except one.
  10. Well, I made it through surgery! I can't say it's been too easy...I'm in a pretty good deal of pain, but I haven't been walking quite as much as I should....it hurts. Every time I go to do my laps, I get the dry heaves, and boy does that hurt. Some of my new surgery buddies act as though they haven't had surgery at all, and are already out shopping...lucky them. I sure wish they used the really strong pain meds here, like they would in the US, and possibly more frequently. Does anyone have any advise to throw my way? I'm in need of a boost.
  11. Nancy, I'm now down 46.6 lbs! I never ever thought I would see the scale move in that direction! It's amazing! Excersizing and good eating habits get easier every day too :-)
  12. I totally feel your pain! Thanks for the post, it was a great read!
  13. Congrats you look amazing! I had my sleeve done on March 2, 2012, and am down 45lbs. I can't wait till I look like that! Yes, I workout

    Nexium...

Call the drug company. For people who can't afford it, you can apply to get it free! I have psoriasis, and recently lost my insurance. I take Humira injections for it, and those are $4,800.00 for a one month supply. I called the mfg company, and now I'm getting them free. It's worth a shot!

    Blisters

That doesn't sound too good. You should definitely get checked out. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
  19. I had surgery on March 2nd, and have been in a 2 week stall. I'm doing everything correctly....it IS frustrating. Will I be THE one that fails the sleeve?

    Plane Ride Home...

I live in Texas, and flew economy. I booked an isle seat, and wore compression stockings/socks, that helped more than anything. You can grab some at your local pharmacy. Oh, I also booked my seat in the very back of the plane, by the bathrooms, in case I got sick. When I booked my flight, I requested wheelchair assistance to and from all gates.....best decision ever. Good luck :-)

Depressed. When It Will Get Better?

I'm 3 weeks post op, and have been crying every single day for a week. Everything makes me cry, everything makes me grouchy....it's like constant PMS! I haven't lost any weight in about 5 days now, and I'm frustrated as well. However, I'm down 31 lbs, so SOMETHING has got to be working. My poor boyfriend, and my kids don't have a clue what to do with me...they try being supportive, but I'm just SO emotional! What to do? I've been going to the gym to bike about 3 days out of the week, and sometimes it helps, and other times, not so much. Keep your chin up, you're not alone.
  22. I would recommend an additional 2 days off. It may sound like a lot, but everyone heals differently. My "sleeve sister" was planning on going back the day after she got back, and really need the 2 extra days. It was harder for her to call in sick for the extra time, than it would have been just to let them know in advance. From experience, there's no way on Earth I could have gone back so early. Good luck, I'll pray for you guys.

    Paid By Paypal?

I'm feeling pretty good for the most part, but YES, there are things that I wish I knew to be better prepared with. In Mexico, they only believe in giving you painkillers every 6-8 hours. BRING YOUR OWN. Ask your Dr. here for some liquid narcotics.....not kidding. I was in a lot of pain, and they refused to give me the "toradol" more often...and that's not even a strong medicine. Also see if you can get a sleep aid, or anxiety pill for your trip. The gas-x strips....don't take them, I swear it makes it worse. Take some flavoring for your Water....straight up water hurts SO bad to drink. They will give you a form of liquid Maalox...make sure you use it, or bring your own. I used my own Zantac 150 (tiny pills). For your flight home, be sure and reserve wheel chair assistance. Not only does it get you through the checkpoints a lot faster, but they help with your luggage (and you board before 1st class). Oh, and BRING your own compression socks or stockings for the plane ride....they are a life saver. I hope this helps. if I can think of anything else, I'll let you know.
