Gastric Sleeve Surgery Dec 5th And Understand How Much I Loved Food
MoonSiren replied to royboy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yes I feel the same way! I was sleeved the 6th and have not been hungry or craving much of anything. It is like my appetite is completely gone. How strange is that? I make myself drink protein shakes since I'm on liquids only right now until the 27th. I guess all doctors have different plans if you can already have purees. -

That's awesome news! I can't wait until I can tolerate spicy foods. I got really gassy and felt sick the first time I had tortilla soup since the sleeve. -

My Family Freeked Out When I Told Them I'm Getting Gastric Sleeve Surgery

They may be afraid of the surgery. How about you give them reading material about the procedure you are thinking of so they can learn more about it. Any kind of surgery would scare the people who love you. -

Using chopsticks is a fabulous idea! I always eat very slow when I use them and could use more practice. I LOVE sushi and all other Asian food. -

I use a pill crusher to crush up the icky tasting vitamins and wash it down with water. It really helps out! I use the Bariatric Advantage multi vitamin. Feel free to PM or aim me if you need someone to chat with. -

Anyone Else Hate To Eat Out?

You can always split a meal with someone else or give your to-go box to a homeless person. -
I have long thick hair that I always get lots of compliments on so am so scared of losing it. Are there any hairstyles that I could try that minimize the appearance of thining hair?

This can lead to an eating disorder so I don't think it is a good idea to do it too often. When you put something in your mouth, the digestive process begins and the juices come up from your stomach. It can cause an ulcer! http://voices.yahoo....069.html?cat=70

First Time Eating In A Restaurant With The Gastric Sleeve
MoonSiren posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Last night my friends and I went to Chili's, my first time going to a restaurant since my sleeve was done. I was feeling sooo nervous that there was not going to be anything I wanted to eat. I hadn't seen some of my friends in so long that I had to make myself go! All my friends are big eaters so it was difficult being around them at the table while they ate awesome looking food. I nervously asked the waitress to give me pureed chicken enchilada Soup and it turned out pretty good but gave me gas. I noticed several new things now that I was sleeved. First of all, I could actually carry on a conversation with those around me because I could focus on what was said. Before the sleeve I was so focused on eating and could not wait to shovel food in my mouth. The time before the food came was always so difficult for me so I would fill up on chips and salsa. Another thing was my bill was sooo cheap at only $3 for a cup of soup. I would spend 10-15 bucks before when I'd go out to eat. Also, I found out that I can no longer tolerate spicy foods which really upsets me. I used to LOVE Mexican and Indian food but it seems now I will not be able to enjoy it any longer. I talked to my friend at work who was sleeved and she said the same about spicy cuisine. How has going out to eat changed for you since being sleeved? Can you eat spicy foods without feeling sick? -
Poll: Would you have the VSG again?? Yes No and why
MoonSiren replied to jbauti5's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Right now I keep burping non stop since I just ate. It happens all the time now. I was thinking earlier that I shouldn't have done this. I worry what will happen to me 10 -20 years from now.. will I have good health? I'm flip flopping a lot here. I am losing lots of weight faster than ever but I get fears from time to time. -
2500 Calories Today

It isn't the end of the world! Maybe try to exercise harder to offset the amount of calories eaten. -
Going On A Date..what To Eat?
MoonSiren replied to heylinda's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A very skinny co-worker cuts up half of whatever she is served and then sets it aside, then eats the other half. She eats veeery slow. When everyone is done eating, she gets it boxed up and takes it home to her husband so he can eat it. I wonder if she has weight loss surgery or just practices healthy eating habits. -

I have a photo of me from behind in a swimsuit as I'm picking up seashells. It makes me cringe everytime! Because of that photo and every other one taken, I had to do something to feel better about myself. Good for you for wanting a better life! I wish your sleeve journey lots of luck. -

If You've Had The Vsg Surgery Please Please Reply
MoonSiren replied to DC'sFinest's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I used to sleep on my tummy prior to surgery since I could not fall asleep on my back or side. Now I sleep on my back or I will feel pain. I don't wake up with zits anymore since my face is not rubbing against the pillow all night. I bought a Sobakawa Cloud Pillow, which has REALLY helped. It hugs your head and neck and it is more comfortable to sleep so you wake up with no back pain. -
Medication Problems Since Having Gastric Sleeve Surgery
MoonSiren posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Since getting the sleeve I've found that my medications are all screwed up. I need to crush them for 3 months. One was a time release medication but I crushed it up anyways without knowing and now feel like I haven't been taking it. I'm going to call the doctor today and get another kind that is able to be crushed up. Make sure you get your medications switched so they all can be crushed or compounded in syrup if you have this surgery! -
I went shopping today and could fit in a 1x (is this an 18)? without it being too tight on me. I got a christmas shirt that is red with gems on it and a black /white work shirt. I used to be a 3x in college and a 2x before starting the pre - op diet. I haven't weighed myself since the surgery but I may have dropped 7-10 lbs since. I'm so thrilled!!
