Reading through everyone's posts, I am beside myself! Congrats to all of you!!! I can't wait for my sleeve day!!! (off topic: what's up with all of the nasty banana smilies? weird.)

I have not yet gone through the approval process, but I am anxious I know my in-patient hospital copay is $250, and my Dr. office has a $300 admin/class fee... But is there also a seperate surgeon copay? Or just my regular $25 office copay for the actual surgery, or is that all included in the hospital copay?

Happy New Year!! First, thank you all for being so open and helpful! My required nutritionist appointments are finished, all of the tests have been run, x rays complete, today I went for my psych evaluation... done. Now the waiting game. My psych Dr. said a week or so to get his letter prepared and sent over to the surgeon, then insurance auth... Although this process has been looooooong, I have a feeling the next couple weeks will be the slowest. Wish me luck! xoxo

Hi! If any of Dr. Mueller's patients are on here, or if you had your surgery done at Sharp Memorial in San Diego, can you share your experience with me? So far I love his office staff, and have heard that he is a great guy, but I have not met anyone first hand that has had thier surgery done by him :smile1: thanks!!

Hi Melissa! They are sending in the auth request to my insurance (Aetna) after my apt with my surgeon on the 9th. I was debating lapband vs. vsg for a little while, so now that I know vsg is for me, I am praying everything goes smoothly! Keep me posted on your progress its all so exciting!!

I have finished most of my insurance pre op stuff, and made an apt for my final surgeon consultation this morning, for 12/09... When I spoke to my insurance coordinator this morning she said the rest of the process will move quickly, so hold on for the ride! I pray that my sugery happens by the end of January Congrats on all of the January dates! I am so excited for all of us

I am so excited and happy for all of you!!! Thank you for sharing your numbers. I think even more then the numbers I am blown away at how happy everyone sounds! I just got my surgeon consult approved by insurance, so I am awaiting my appointment. I hope to be as successful as you!!

I am sooooo happy to hear of all the good feedback for AETNA. I just finished my 6month 'nutritionist' appointments and am getting my paperwork/bloodwork done through my PCP.... I do have one question. For others that had to do the pre-approval supervised diet with Aetna, did you lose/gain during that time period? Thanks a bunch! Sabrina.

I know everyone has different recovery time, but how long were you out of work? I work on the computer, sitting at a desk, in an office. I can pretty much get up, walk around, take breaks when needed... I am trying to realistically plan on how much time I will need to be out? thanks so much for sharing!!! sabrina.

Hi there! I am new here. Until a couple weeks ago I 'knew' I wanted Lap Band, but as the time of final decisions gets closer, I am leaning towards VS. I am doing this as a tool to help me lose weight, and live a loooooong healthy life and keep up with my kiddos. Thank-you all for the abundance of info and sharing your experiences! love, Sabrina.
