  1. I definately hoped to lose a little faster than I have, but I'm not dissapointed. I am glad I had the sleeve done and it has made it much easier to get a perspective on how much food I was eating. I've only lost 35 lbs in 9 weeks. It seems I have a stall every other week, then only lose 1 lb. I do everything by the book and it is still very slow. I have bad days occasionally and need to vent, but most days I'm positive that I will get to my goal no matter how long it takes. I also try not to compare my results with everyone else's....I'm in my 50's and won't lose the way a 20 yr. old does.

  2. I really appreciate your post! I am also over 50 and knew having the sleeve was not going to be a "miracle cure". I've battled my weight for 30 years and have gotten so discouraged at losing at a snail's pace, just to put it right back on the minute I had a "normal" meal. I've gained weight on 1200 calorie Dr. prescribed diet!! I've learned so much about my body in the past few months, and I will have to work this sleeve like crazy to get rid of the pounds...then I will have to deal with the maintenance issue. I am eating a clean diet of mainly Protein and fresh veggies with extremely low carbs and no sugar. I feel so much better knowing that I am not alone in this!

  3. Congratulations! I am happy things went so well for you. You are well on your way to a happier and healthier new YOU! I will be sleeved Dec. 8 by Dr. Kelly and I will be going alone also. I have my ups and downs emotionally...but posts like yours are a true inspiration, and help ease my anxiety of going to Mexico alone! Keep up the good work and I hope you have a speedy recovery. God Bless!
