    Goal Weight Question

I am only 5 weeks out but I intend to hit my goal and stay there. My sleeve will pretty much tolerate anything now(although I can barely get in an ounce at a time). But I still choose to fill it with lean protein first,I used to be a lover of all things carbs-bad carbs. Breaded everything, chips, crackers, candy, etc. But now I am like a bad carb nazi hehe, and I intend to stay that way with leniency in moderation when/if I ever feel like I absolutely would like to eat like one chip or a bite of cake at bday party. I will never again make it my everyday lifestyle to eat empty calories, carbs, and junk all around, and I feel that this, plus adding exercise, will take me to goal and keep me there.

    Today I Learned.......

I am 5 weeks out and deal with the same thing. Although I am doing good lately about getting in my protein,it all comes from shakes mostly. I eat maybe 2 ozs of food on a good day. I really hope I can start eating more soon bc I know I am not getting close to the recommended amount of calories in that I should be daily and it is giving me a slow(but steady) weight loss. I think I would be losing more if I could up my calories a bit and get my body out of starvation mode. lol.

    Excited For Seminar

Hi there! The first step in my process was to attend the seminar as well. I started my process towards the and of October 2011 and I was sleeved on Jan 25th 2012. Good luck to you,the seminar was very informational for me. There were guests speakers that had WLS(none had the sleeve),a psychologist spoke,as well as the surgeon and his assistant doctors.
  5. That is awesome! You are beautiful girl, love you profile pic!
  6. I agree with the poster above, they have some great ideas. Just though I would give you a link to eggface's protein shake recipes. To kick up your protein shakes. They are so friggin awesome. I think it is a good idea to stick with the shakes for now,and just kind of sample the solids, but start off with very soft and juicy, tender meats. I am still only eating about 3 oxs of solids a day and relying on my protein shakes to get me by bc even at 5 weeks out,I get SO full after eating liek 1 oz that I can barely get in liquids or shakes in for the rest of the day. Here is the link to protein shake recipes: http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2007/06/my-favorite-protein-shake-recipes.html

    Hours To Eat A Slider

Those sliders are very moist so I would assume they wouldn't go down too bad,but I probably would like just eat the meat part. There are alot of restaurants that sell burgers with all the stuff on them but without the bread. I am 5 weeks out and have not tried bread yet. My nut told me when I do start to eat bread,to toast it at first, that will help. Hope this was a lil helpful to you! ((HUGS))
  9. Thank you, sounds so good. I will def have to look for some here. I am a mml freak! lol

    2 Weeks Frustration!

You just have to stay positive! ((HUGS)) The same thing happened to me but at 1 1/2 weeks out! I gained 2 pounds and then stalled. It was horrible and lasted for a lil more than a week. Then I started losing again. I am losing slow but steady now. Just try to stay clam and be patient and remember that the weight WILL come off. I remember someone on this site saying a very true statement: That at some point,we all think we are the one that this surgery is not going to work for, that we will be the ONE to fail. But it WILL work, just keep doing what you know is right as far as eating, liquids, protein and walking. Also, getting the right amount of sleep is somewhat crucial as well. Let's look forward to the next week as you will probably be losing again by then! =)
  11. Welcome and good luck to you! Just wait, you'll be losing in no time!
  12. Yes I am slowly adding food. I can eat pretty much anything now,it's just that it isn't near enough for nutritional value-at all. And it keeps me full fo SO long. So,I try to get in most my protein and Water, then look to the food, not sure if that's the best idea, but it's what I'm goin with for now. lol. Ooohhhh my,okay I am so in need of some coffee! I ran out of chocolate unjury so I need to order more. I love love love eggfaces Protein shake recipes. Cannot wait to try some!
  13. I was excited when I found them too! Have only found the light in chocolate but oh my they are so good!
  14. So sorry you're feeling bad. =( I would def try to sip on some hot herbal tea,or some chicken broth. Anything warm or hot really soothes the sleeve. The stomach endured quite a bit during surgery with that long staple line,so it can be swollen for a while. Everyone varies I'm sure. Placing a call to your actual doctor wouldn't hurt. Hope you feel better soon!
  15. You look great! Congrats!
  16. Wow,sounds like fun!!!! Congrats!!!

    Newbie~ 2 Weeks Post Op!

Welcome, congrats on your sleeve!! Take it easy! I would agree with Pookeyism that is you are having troubles at stage 2,maybe you should stay there utnil you are more comfy with it,then transition on. I had to make the desicion to do that after my surgeon told me i could pretty much eat what I wanted after a week! My fave trick to getting in liquids and protein is mixing either strawberry or unflavored protein in crystal light. YUMM! My fave is 20 ozs of water, one pack of lemonade crystal light, and one scoop of strawberry sorbet unjury protein. There's 20 ozs of water and 20 grams of protein. Very refreshing as well. Unjury is now the only brand of protein powder I will drink bc it is so light and yummy! They also have little sample packs that you can buy-they are one serving each. www.unjury.com Muscle milk lite is also great to sip on,it has 20 grams of protein as well.
  18. I've tried dipping it in seasoned greek yogurt, marinading, drowning it in hot sauce with a lil lite blue cheese on top lol. Anyone else wanna chime in?
  19. I'll def have to go check the Tagine out, thanks!
  20. Mmmmm that sounds so delish, and good source of extra Protein too! Thank you,I will have to google it!

    Guilty

I am 5 weeks out and extremely blessed to have not had any complications, although every lil pain and ache after a week out scared me lol. I have sent up many prayers for the ppl that have had complications. Don't beat yourself up over feeling great, celebrate it! And support those who need it that are having complications. =)
  22. Thinking of you! Hope you feel better soon! ((HUGS))
  23. Mmmmm yum yum yum!!!! I believe I would have to go in there! lol
  24. Just wanted to add that I really like muscle milk. lol. I drink the chocolate flavored in light of course. It has 160 calories,4 grams of fat,and 20 grams of protein. I think it tastes awesome. The regular has alot more flavors to choose from and has like 230 calories,8 grams of fat and 25 grams of protein, still not bad. Another alternative if you can't tolerate the shakes.
  25. Okay so I have 2 points to make: I think I have insomnia since being sleeved. :/ I am always up like half the night! AND I am pretty sure I am on VST more than my FB now! LOL ADDICTED
