How exciting!!! Congrats and good luck to you!
  4. Congrats! I am 5 weeks out and have lost 26 pounds! Would have more but got stuck in a lil stall. Don't let the stalls get to you, they will pass! =)
  5. I only drink the muscle milk light. It has 0 grams of sugar,20 grams protein,160 calories. I use Unjury, have tried a few store generic brands and hate them. I heard that Premier from Costco is good too. I am gonna try it soon.

    Loose Skin

Hey it's worth a try! I am totally gonna check out the body brushing thing. Can't hurt and I don't think my insurance is gonna pay for any plastics. I know my belly will be bad,but I don't think it will be bad enough for insurance to cover it so I would have to cash pay. :/

    Insurance

I do not have that type of insurance but I would def call them about it. I stalked my isurance company lol and got an approval in less than 7 days. I would just call and ask if anyone had reviewed my paperwork yet.

What's body brushing? Sounds like pampering and I loveeeee pampering lol. I have bought some spanx to put on under my clothes and have became obsessed with them! Haha,I even wear my spanx around the house like all day long and I wear them when I exercise. My doctor said that may help the skin as well in the fact that while the weight is coming off the skin is being compressed rather than just hanging like usual. I am a big fan of Nivea skin firming lotion with Q10,but I would love some ideas on what kind of body oils to use also.

I'm 25 too and had 130 to lose. I am now 5 weeks out have lost a total(Pre-op diet and then since surgery) of 40 pounds. My skin seems to be doing ok so far but of course I have alot more to go. I wish you luck on your journey!!!!! Keep us updated!

  15. Sounds like you're doin pretty good. =) I remember not being sleeved yet and you writing here in this thread right after you were sleeved. Now I've been sleeved for 5 weeks and you for 4 monthS! How time flies! I love my sleeve and have lost 24 pounds in the 1st month. It is a struggle to get all the Protein in but do-able. Have you tried doubling up on your protein in your shakes? unjury even carries an unflavored protein powder-you can put it in whatever you're eating/drinking. And chicken Soup flavored-yummo. www.unjury.com Also,I don't know if you've tried any of eggfaces recipes, but she has some awesome Protein shake recipes to kick it up a notch. http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2007/06/my-favorite-protein-shake-recipes.html Keep up the great work,we want some progress pics!! ((HUGS))
  16. Girl, you are strong for even realizing the changes you need to make!! Don't beat yourself up over it,just move on and take the experience and use it for future reference. You know that you don't ever want to feel that bad again for eating something you shouldn't. I honestly think you're gonna do great,I think we all have to go through the tough part and the little mistakes. It is part of this whole life change. Noone is perfect. If we were,we would have never needed the sleeve in the first place. As long as it isn't an everyday thing,it's not a problem in my opinion. You're gonna lose the weight, and keep it off,you can do this. As far as Ron,he sounds like a JERK. I would most likely had ended up saying something to him. ((HUGS)) to you,I think you handled the situation great. The ice cream incident is over, put it in the past and continue to do great sleeve sister! ((HUGS))

    Started My Liqued Diet Today.....

The pre-op is like the hardest part of it all. You can get through it though. I do remember how hard it is,I will never forget my husband and I arguing over me wanting to trash these sugar cookies(I so threw them away) bc he kept bringing in all kinds of HORRIBLE junk food in aka stuff I would normally pig out on..LOL. I even vented here about it. I was a mess, but got through it. Lost 15 pounds pre-op and 24 pounds in the 5 weeks since being sleeved. You got this girl, just keep your eye on the prize!

Oh and one more thing, the "Golden Standard" RNY doesn't always work either. My sister had it in 2008 and has lost and kept her weight off but her best friend had it also in 2008,didn't lose all her weight and what she did lose has came back. They were relatively the same weight, only her friend was taller. Just kinda goes to show that you HAVE to work the tool you are given in order to be successful long term.

You should def have the expectations that your sleeve will work. I feel it's all about how you work your sleeve as well. =) You still have to eat the right things and exercise regularly. With that being said,at my pre op appt, one of the doctors expressed to me that she thought the RNY was the gold standard and the sleeve may not allow me to lose all my weight( I don't agree) But they said if it doesn't work, they can do the DS. They never mentioned doing the RNY if the sleeve didn't work. I didn't pay much attention though bc I knew/know that my sleeve will not let me down. Sleevie and I will work together till all this pesky fat is gone, then continue to work to keep it off. Lol
