  1. I had the irritated throat post op' date=' but probably since 10 days out, I've had this annoying dry cough, like something is caught in my throat. All day long. Little annoying doggy like coughs. And night too.

Last night I took some NyQuil at 3am because I just needed to F-ing sleep. And I did hank God. I also made sure NyQuil didn't have NSAIDs, and it doesn't. Today my doctor said its ok to take robitussin and NyQuil. So I will be stocking up.

Did your cough ever go away? I'm starting to get worried that this could be a lifelong side effect of surgery. Yeah I get dramatic like that.[/quote']

I seriously thought I would have the cough for ever too lol but No it went away probably a few weeks later. I think total it lasted for about 3-4 weeks at the most. It was very irritating to say the least

  2. im getting so frustrated :(

i had surgery 7/10/12 so im 16 days post op and i have been stuck at the same weight for what seems like FOREVER. I weighed myself on 7/18 and i was 311 and im still at that weight...what do i do? just remain patient and hope fr the best? im getting in my liquids and doing fairly well with getting the Protein in but geesh.... any advice?

i know i need to stop weighing everyday but im addicted lol

  3. So, I was doing good...until today...I was feeling so weak and looking at a Protein Shake made me want to vomit...I ate a grilled chicken salad from Jack n the box....hell yea I feel guilty and mad at myself...I'm too close to fail at this point...uuuugh...

I have no plans on messing up anymore and I hope I didn't make my liver swell or whatever it does...the salad had 11 carbs and 37g of Protein so I hope even if it was a mistake that it wasn't that bad. :/

  4. Ladies! I was in your shows less that 3 weeks ago and let me tell you! I was miserable!!! I even considered cancelling because the pre-op was so dang hard. I survived by adding Mio to my Water and eating SF Jello to trick my brain into thinking I was eating. I even froze it to have "ice cream". No one said this would be easy and how dare the nay-sayers say we took the easy way out! Be proud and be good! It will pay off!!!

oh em gee!!!!! i was thinking the same dang thing!!!! uuuuuugh...

  5. Anyone having their surgery in July? I'm scheduled for July 10th and I'm super excited...

doing the 2 week liquid diet..ugh today was day 5..and it's hard for me:( but someone suggested looking at others before and after pics to get motivated and it worked lol...

July anyone? Good Luck and speedy recovery to us all :)

  6. It's a good idea to stay close to your doctor until atleast 3-4 weeks. Don't ou have to go back for follow ups every week for awhile?

Yea pretty sure He wants to see me one week out then 3 week out and He said I can't go anywhere for the first month.. I was pretty disappointed for sure...

  7. I don't know that there is a "mandatory" waiting period' date=' other than generically until you're healed - for teh reasons like blood thinners stated above, and maybe because IF you got an infection, it would be that much harder for a freshly post-op body to recover from it.

I used to want a tat so bad back when I was like 17. I still do, but I'm a wuss. I'm glad I didn't go for it back then (when I was a normal weight) because... eww... I don't even want to think about what it would look like now.

I ay unwuss and get a tat one of these days, but it would be well into maintenance, once I felt confident that I could keep the tat looking like, say, the letter "A" and not get fat again and have it end up looking like a ninja throwing star.[/quote']

A ninja throwing a star?! LMAO I'm sorry I really laughed out loud when I read that!! Totally agree.. I think I will wait it out.. as Much as I can..I love tattoos;)

  8. Well my mom took it upon herself to call my doctor lol she is on my Hippa form so they talked it all out..they want me to wait at least 7-10 days to travel after surgery...and ill b cleared after my 1 week follow up.. he said I can fly no more than 45 minutes or drive no more than 6 hrs stopping frequently to walk to avoid clots.. it's crazy tho cuz the flight from here to my parents is about 45 minutes and the drive would be exactly 6hrs so it works perfectly lol!

  9. thanks everyone!

the surgeon i see has a partner that does gastric surgery in the area that my parents live....but of course im not going to get my surgery done there...to make it simplier i live in dallas and the parentals live in amarillo so its 6hr drive or1 1/2 hr flight im thinking that if my mom comes for a week then i should be good to go and not need to even go back....basically she is trying to fit me in with the siblings summer plans LOL.

i also think its better to stay close to the doc in case things do arise..and who knows when i will have to go back fr post op appts too..but ill ask on thursday and put an update

    thanks again!
