Can a to tight fill eventualy pass.

Yes a too tight fill will eventually ease up or get you to a point that you concentrate on how you eat. The main thing to remember right now is that you are tight, so dont try to over do it. Drink lots of liquids and try to eat soups that are broth or the creamy ones that you can put in the blender. Another trick is to try and drink something hot, like decaf tea, sometimes that will loosen you up a bit. And if you are able to eat, chew very very good before you swallow, put down your fork between bites. You could just be eating too fast and not chewing good. Hope this helps you out, I know about tight. My last fill is at 4.5 so basically I am just about maxed out and I am really really tight. Good luck to you. One more thing, try not to panic it only makes you stress out and for me that makes my band even tighter.

    Banded 5/21/07

Congratulations and welcome to somewhere over in Bandland! Mush food to me was the best!!! Could be because I love tuna salad, egg salad, chicken salad....

    Any more Waldorfians out there?

Chanda, Yes I can eat but keep in mind my plate looks like I am fixing a toddlers plate. My portions are very very small but I get full and am satisfied. I guess that is why I am able to lose. Now if I ramped up my exercise I would really probably lose some pounds.

    Hi everyone!

Welcome Brandlet32, Good luck to you on your band journey. Although I am not a Baltimorian, there are many other Marylanders that have used the doctors you have mentioned.

    Any more Waldorfians out there?

Chanda, Yes I am still losing. My weight loss has been slow but has been steady. Dr. Brody really went aggressive with my last fill and since that fill I have lost 28 pounds. Even though the weight loss has been slow I think it really gives you time to realize how you are suppose to eat and for me it gave my body time to re-adjust. I dont have any loose skin. I could tone up a bit but for the most part I am very very happy with my results.

    Any more Waldorfians out there?

Chanda, The sipping and baby bites are FOREVER! I am two year out and cannot guzzle a drink. It take time cause you sip on it. Your pouch is very small especially if you have gotten filled to a sweet spot. So you can only get but so much down there at at time. And yes, I still cut my food up in small pieces and I chew and chew and chew until its like mush before swallowing. Once you have a PB episode you dont try to repeat it. Its not fun at all. Hope this helps you newbies.

    Deep Creek Lake

No Choice, Did you enjoy Deep Creek? Do you think this would be a good spot for young folks (age 19-21) or is it more for folks our age (47-50)?

    Any more Waldorfians out there?

Yes I have been to that Cruves. I had a free trial pass and went for 2 visits but have not been back. Dont ask why and I wont have to tell you that I am allergic to the gyms and lazy. Really I try to exercise on my own. I ride my bike and I swim.

Tina, You are in my back yard, I too can access my house from off of St. Peters Church Road. I live in the Pinefield Community. Seems like you are doing good. Keep up the good work.

    Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

I started riding my bike last summer. I lost a whopping 22 pounds from just riding last summer. I am looking forward for the weather to stabilize in my area (Maryland) so I can hit the trails again.
  13. Caz1970, Sounds like the band may work for you. You may want to discuss this with your primary care doctor as well as the doctor that treats your depression and get their opinions. Good luck to you.

Not sure about Baltimore. You should put your post in the Maryland section. I Know there are quite a few folks from the Baltimore area.

Tina, I was thinking about you this morning. Glad to hear you are coming along. Good luck to you.

    I have been banded!!!

I must admit I did go to mushies before my 2 weeks was up. I just did a creamy Soup blended at lunch, couldnt do much more than that. To create your Ticker go to the website www.tickerfactory.com you will have to copy the url and then go under usercp on this site and under your signature you will paste it into that area.
  18. I have had my band since March 05. It has been a slow process for me but at least it has been gradual. Before the band I was wearing a 26/28 I am now down to a size 18 bottom and a 14/16 top. I have had no complications other than getting use to the fills. You really have to learn to eat all over again so that you dont PB. If I had to do it all over again, I'd be first in line!!!!

    Marylander getting banded 4/30/07

It's normal to feel terrified, scared, unsure and anything else. I was sore for about 3 days to the point when I layed down I didnt want to get up and then the first two days had to have my hubby help me sit up from a laid down position. It gets better just keep moving. In a way it feels like you have over exerted yourself doing too many situps. So if you havent already done so you will need to go shopping and get your liquids. Here is something that may help you: *STAGE 1 - LIQUIDS START: When you return home from your surgery DIET: Clear and full liquids GOAL: Aim for at least 64 ounces of fluid for the day by continuous sipping. LIQUIDS RECOMMENDED: Water 100% Fruit Juice (No sugar added) Bouillon Strained soups or broths Skim or 1% milk Soy milk Milk Shakes - thinned Gatorade or equivalent sports drink Yogurt Smoothie Drinks - not including homemade Crystal Light Sugar free beverages Herbal or decaffeinated tea or coffee Popsicles (Pedialyte) LIQUIDS TO AVOID: Citrus juices (orange, grapefruit, pineapple) Acidic liquids (tomato juice, tomato soup, buttermilk) Caffeinated beverages (coffee, tea) Carbonated beverages (any soda pop, seltzer, or tonic water) Homemade fruit or yogurt smoothies Anything that seems liquid but is not (Jello, yogurt, pudding, ice cream) *Do pour test*

    Marylander getting banded 4/30/07

Well Hello Again, Glad you found the Marylander area. I was thinking about you the other day, I sent you a PM to find out how the Optifast diet was going. Four more days is not that long and soon you will be a Bandster too. Good luck to you and remember if you have any questions about your new band or just wanna talk give me a call. Just think you're on your way!!!:clap2: :clap2: :clap2:
  23. Typically when you get up to 4cc you are getting close to your max. You should try liquids. I would bet your stomach is swollen from the fill as well as all of the pbing that you have been doing. Try sticking to broths and clear juice. You might even try jello for at least 2 days then go to a creamy soup and see out that sits with you. If you are still experiencing a lot of pbing it may be time to call the doc and go to get some of the fill taken out. Good luck to you.

    Lapband in the DC Area

BhabyDoll, DO NOT HAVE YOUR SURGERY AT SOUTHERN MARYLAND HOSPITAL!!! This is not a good hospital for new and complicated surgeries. Check at GW hospital. Just my opinion but I sure as heck dont wanna ever wake up and find out I am in Southern Maryland Hospital.

You Guys Are NOT Going To Believe This!

Carlene, You know what they say "Different strokes for different folks". And then I guess you really have to ask, was his marriage to Mrs. P a strong one. Sometimes folks can put on good appearances. He may have been having some romantic affair with that other woman for some time. It doesnt make it right but you just dont know what really goes on between two people. I just hope the guy doesnt get taken for a ride.
