    Why am I not excited?

It might be because you haven't given yourself permission to enjoy it. Or, possibly you don't trust yourself yet - what if I stop loosing, or gain it back, like every other time. You also might be clinically depressed- it is alot of change, and might be worth discussing with your Dr about some options.

    caffiene use

To introduce myself, my name is Rebecca, and I am new to this site, and have been learning so much!! Thank you to everyone who shares, as it really is so helpful. I have a surgery date of 10-13-11, but have been working through this process for most of a year. I hear alot from folks that are frustrated by the pre-op pace, but I have found that the time it has taken me to loss my pre-op wt, see PT, the nutrionist, my PCP x 6mths, the support meetings, the program NP, surgeon, and psycologist has been valuble in me being prepared mentally for this major life change. When I realize that this is for the rest of my life, a year doesn't seem like a big thing. My question has to do with caffiene. My Dr says that it is contraindicated after the sleeve becuase it is an irritant to the stomach lining. It is the one thing I am really struggling with. I haven't seen any posts about this. Did everyone have to give up real coffee as well? Also, is there anyone who lives near the NH Seacoast?
  3. I have been approved and I have a surgery date of October 13, 2011. It suddenly seems much more real, and I am getting butterflies because it is time to tell my co-workers and family, some of whom will not be supportive. Any thoughts or suggestions about the best way to do this!

    VSG & reflux

Incredibly helpful information!! I am new to all of this, and they found a hiatal hernia as a part of my pre-op workup- always thought I just had GERD. I will be having my sleeve in about a month, and they will repair the HH. Thank you for the education.

    2 week Pre-Op Diet

This replay was probably the most helpful advise I have read in a very long time. I have been in the weight loss rollercoaster for all of my adult life, and on the WLS journey for about 10 months, and I expect to have my sleeve within the next month= just waiting final insurance OK.. Really appreciate your words!
  6. My name is Rebecca and this is all so new to me. I will be having the sleeve done in about a month, but my journey started about 10 mths ago witht the nutritionist, PT, psycologist, primary care and surgeon. I am ready, but very nervous. Anyone out there with regrets?
